  • Ok I wanna make sure I'm doing this right... so I do the hot oil treatment with my fav oil... Then do I rinse that out and then co-wash or do I do the hot oil treatment follow immediately by the co-wash? Also, what is in your moisturizing and shea butter concoctions?

  • @amosley03 you co-wash the hot oil treatment out. This way your hair is cleaned but not stripped of all the oils ") I actually dont give ou the recipe of my leave in or sealant because I will be selling them in the future but you can find a great sealant recipe on Naptural85's channel and a great moisturizer on Kimmaytube's channel. Hope this helps!

  • I'm going to try this treatment on Saturday.

  • All of this is great...But our diet and our lifestyles are really @the root of our problem and causes our dry Hair... We need NATURAL OIL IN OUR DIETS... We also need, Fresh Fish, Raw Fruits and Vegetables. UN-processed Nuts, and Eggs, no Dairy , regular out door daytime- with a Sunscreen, a gallon of water a day, 8 hours sleep, and serious stress management.... through prayer and meditation..... "A miracle is a process...Not a one time Event..."

  • I never put conditioner on my scalp. It causes drying and itchness. My hot oil treatments and co washes consist of Grapeseed oil, castor oil and olive oil, those are the oils I add to my scalp to keep it from being dry.. My co washes consist of Aussie Moist or Giovanni Tree Tea conditioner.

  • So, like I did this yesterday using macadamia nut oil and some other oils (used what I had) and OMG I loves it. I messed up tho, lol I forgot to part my hair in sections-didnt mix the oil in water, etc. lol But after I cowashed and put in twists my hair was so moisturized. Im going to do this again now that I watched this video for the umteenth time. Im wondering if this should be done weekly or monthly? I dont see the harm, so I'll try it again.

  • @msreds23 lol Im glad that you experienced great results ") I do this treatment every two weeks because I dont want it to build or make my co-washes any more difficult lol but if your hair is dryer or has been extremely fry for a while, then yea you could start off with weekly treatments to soften the hair strands and then reduce down to every other week ") If you loved this though wait until you try my deep conditioning recipe, your going to be like "its a perm in this mayo somewhere" lol

  • @keythema Say what?, "perm in mayo" without any chemical burns?..., im IN. lol I watched it today several times. I'll be doing it this weekend for sure along with the hot oil treatment, cuz my hair is drinking it up-so I'll do it this week and then biweekly afterwards. Yay, finally something is working for my hair. Thanks Keythema, like REALLY!!! It is helping me so much :) Keep up the videos chica! Im waiting for the shea butter recipe :)

  • Lol thanks Hun im a newbie and it shows

  • @lachelle225 not at all, lol if i were to tell you some of the mistakes I made when I first went natural you would be shocked lol the worst one was clipping my ends every six weeks, what a waste of potential length lol Try those steps I can guarantee you will see a difference. Also dont forget to sleep with a shower cap for moisturize and a satin scarf. If yo uahve no clue what im talking about copy and paste "How to moisturize DRY NATURAL HAIR" and get back to me on what you think ")

  • I'm four months post BC and I'm noticing shedding I wash with shampoo three days a week and co wash four days a week doing a treatment on Sunday. Also noticing little knots at the ends of my hair I oil daily and keep it moisturize am I over doing it...please help

  • @lachelle225 OMG! stop washing your hair that much ASAP!! lol For me it works best when you

    1. only wash your hair once a month with shampo (either a natural one or pantene for colored women)

    2. followed by your monthly deep conditioner (sit for an hour with a deep conditioner)

    3. co-wash weekly or bi weekly

    4. do a hot oil treatment biweekly (you can co-wash after that)

    5. Moisturize daily with leave in moisturizer and light pomade

    5. wear protetective styles 90% of the time

    Hope this helps

  • @lachelle225 i dont think our over doing it, i moisturize my hair when wake up and go to sleep. when i wash my hair, alot of my hair shedds

  • Does grape-seed oil have any kind of scent? Because I use Africa's Best but it has a strong scent and over time, it drives me crazy!

  • @HairJunky101 nope! its completely generic and of course extra virgin oil has no scent either. I feel ya on the oil smell issue tho lol sometimes you just dont want to walk around smelling super ethnic lol ")

  • @HairJunky101 grape seed oil smells good imo....and really makes your hair feel "smooth"
