  • I just wanna know whether your scalp was really itchy? mine has been since i was about 17years old (8yrs ago) due to never leaving my scalp breath i.e. taking a weave out and putting one back in the next day! I have now shaved my head, thinking that it would somehow solve things and also so that my hair can grow even, it was really bad before. I have then noticed a very dry area on the top of my scalp which is irritably itchy every with a shaved head! Have you experienced any of that before?

  • @rednessc09 Yes, my scalp used to be very itchy. After I washed my hair, within 2 days it would start to itch very badly. But between doing hot oil treatments and using my 4 oil concoction, I have been able to get the stuff off my scalp that was causing my problems.

  • I have serbboriec dermatitis on my scalp and face.. I was using castor oil and it worked for a short amount of time and then it rejected the castor oil. So then i added tea tree oil to my castor oil and it still didnt work. So i said fuck it. I am frustrated. Now im just scrubbing my scalp intensly with vo5 conditioner and i have not been using shampoo. Its working a bit. Im thinking the sulfates irritated my seborriec dermatitis.

  • @temickab For me, I used a combination of oils (of which included JBCO). Also, shampoo shouldn't have to be your enemy. Just like with any product, it comes down to the ingredients. Making sure your scalp is clean and free of build is one of the best things you can do. If you think sulfates is the culprit, try sulfate free shampoo and moisturize your scalp every other day w/ EVOO, JBCO or castor oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil mixture. Hope this helps :)

  • I just rec'd my first order of JBCO oil saturday so only on day #2 of usage. I will say the directions I rec'd was to use the product on my hair once a day for 60 days with no off days. Wonder if this would have made a difference in your journey and/or growth rate?

  • @amaris94 I'm not sure how it will work for my hair in terms of hair growth because a lot of what I do can promote, as well as, hinder my hair growth. But I do believe JBCO has helped my scalp and skin.

  • ` How Long Did it Take To Grow That Far ?

  • @TuTuAhshae1 That was 20 months of transitioning at the time of this video.

  • I am proud that you can use JBCO . that JBCO makes my hair shed so bad.

  • I have locs and I am using JBCO on my edges. It is helping quite a lot as I had a bald spot and that's gradually growing back.

  • ohhhh ok i likein the feel of that...my natural hair is a bit thick while my ends are thin i would say.i would love to use the oils that help with growth!! knw any ?? its really diff i can see my kinki hair lol which even tho im happy about also scares me...so i did what you said i found a support group i knew this girl over 2yr and she has gone natural her hair is so long after three yrs of braiding.(adding on hair ) but for someone who is only 3mth i that sounds soo long oh my goodness

  • @MsNiable The best thing you can do to maximize your hair growth potential is not only use oil atopically but be as healthy as you can be from the inside. Oils that can help are castor oil, jojobal oil, rosemary, lavender, burgamout, ylang ylang essential oils. There's a lot of info out there. Just google it :) I'm glad you found someone... thats great. You should look to twitter as well, with using the #naturalhair hashtag. Don't just focus on the end goal, enjoy and document your experience

  • ok yes it was helpful ..... 20 months is a while well i actually have been growing my hair natural for maybe three months now ....i bought some oils for my hair eg olive oil , vit E oil ect couldnt find the castor oil in my country so far ...will these things really help?? ...and about the moisturizer what should or shouldnt i buy for my hair ..cause i knw that it has a few things that are in them that i should look out for but i dont knw them by name ....sryyy its soo long

  • @MsNiable It depends on what you are looking for. Do you want the oils to help with growth, thickness, itchy scalp? What's best for your hair depends on your hair. Do you have thick or fine hair? Low porosity vs high porosity? I actually make my own daily moisturizer... 80% water, 10-15% leave-in conditioner and 10-15% oil in a spray bottle. This is what works best for me. Maybe you can try it out?

  • um how long did it take for ur hair to get to that point ..cause i am thinking about going natural but i have had relaxed hair for so long that i am afraid to try :(... plz reply

  • @MsNiable this length check was at 20 months transitioning. I def understand the afraid feeling, that's why I have transitioned for so long. There are so many transitioning styles and advice out there for support. All you have to do is look and/or ask :) Helpful?

  • Thanks! I'll give it a try.

  • Hi great video. I just bought some Jamaican Black Castor oil and I also have eczema and dermatitis. What is the mixture oils that you are rubbing on your scalp that assisted you in dealing with this problem? Any advice would be helpful.

  • @dellamat772 Thanks! :) I'll do be doing a video soon about this, but I'll give you the sneak tip lol It's equal parts JBCO, coconut oil, jojoba oil, EVOO and 4 essential oils in a color applicator bottle (applied twice a week). There's more than just oil that I used... but that will be fully explained in my Scalp Impurities Series in an upcoming video. Hope this helps!

  • I have been seeing bad reviews for JBCO. People are complaining about hair breakage, extra shedding. I purchased it & now afraid to use it. I use the Home Health brand & have great results. I also recently purchased the Now Foods castor oil. I guess it depends how you use it.

  • @valoulou1986 I haven't seen the bad reviews about JBCO... but I'm thinking they might have been doing other things to cause that or JBCO just wasnt for them. I mix mine with 3 diff carrier oils... Maybe you should try to put it in 1 spot and see how your hair reacts...

  • This is very informative for those ladies that transitioning to become 100 percent natural. Nice job baby girl, I support 200 percent, lol. ;-).. Keep up the good work love. You know I dig ya natural hair! Cant wait to see the end results.

  • I love that at not even 2 yrs yet your hair is getting back to its college day lengths... cannot wait to see what 2012 lengths look like!

  • @nychelse23 In terms of the back of my hair... I'm basically at the same length! Crazy right?! Now what if I hadn't snipped those relaxed ends... OMGOSH! lol
