This has got to be one of the most depressing movies I have ever seen. At first this movie was hard to take seriously, but it really draws you in as you watch it. It's kind of an unrealistic movie, which seems bad but then you realize that it's almost what makes it good. Some movies are 'over realistic', it's not a movie anymore.

I don't understand why people hate Lars Von Trier. This film is just so moving, Bjork's performance is intense and the directing is so inspired. Also I don't think that Von Trier takes himself so seriously...I mean with his Dogma bullshit and his stile of filmaking. He just wants to provoque us, shake us a little. We need directors like that...

Bjork easily pulls off one of the saddest perfomances ever captured in cinema history. This film is so very unexpected. It is so quiet, and yet, it is also, at the same time, the most emotional things I have ever seen in a movie. You guys are in for one hell of a movie experience. This won the award of best picture and actress at Cannes, and, boy, did it ever deserve it. Immaculate and nearly indescribable.

FACT. what dogma number is this? where is the dogma certificate at the begining of the movie? you are only allowed to use one type of camera in dogma movies, and von trier used a bunch of different types of cameras. also, this is a "musical". dogma movies cant fall in to a genre. these are all dogma rules. lets also not forget von trier said a MILLION time its not dogma in interviews. jeez...
