I have all the games with expansion packs, the first 2 (especially the first one!) were great! But because I want to play without a CD (and on Windows 7) I downloaded a "newer" version with torrents. Normally I wouldn't mind pirating if I don't own the game, but this, this game is a masterpiece! IT DESERVES TO BE BOUGHT BITCH! :D

Best PC game theme ever...period. My dad and I got this game back in like 2000, and I'm still playing it! I recorded the music off the game for my ipod a couple days ago, as it brings back memories for me. I actually have some files on the game that haven't been modified since 2000!! I was four years old!! (my coasters sucked at the time haha!!) This is one of the best computer games I have ever played. I can't say how much I love it! =D

i'm still playing RCT1 in a virtual PC (running Win98SE which i bought for 5 bucks shipped on ebay lol) on my Windows7 Ultimate 64Bit computer :P

Well, I was a huge fan of the original. At the time, RCT2 seemed like a let down, twasn't much different to RCT. However, after playing RCT3 (which STILL runs slow on my PC that can run other very intensive games, bad programming Mr Braben!) I can appreciate RCT2 again. I just wish Sawyer didn't have that crappy object limit. He made the same mistake in Locomotion (based on the RCT2 engine btw). Come on man, think forwards! Modern PCs can handle it!

This brings back memories...big time! This game consumed much of my life during high school to the point this game had higher priorities than my homework.

Easier way to get the track is to open the .dat file with sound recorder and save as a .wav. I also found out the trick of swapping out the .dat files to get the original track to play. You can also do this with the carousel/other tracks.

Atari bought the rights and completely skullfucked the whole thing, a bit like EA do when they purchase the rights to upcoming games. I have played it and I never once got into it. Also, you say you acknowledge the fact that todays gamers only care about graphics, well that sounds just like you. You like RCT3 most over it's predecessors, probably because it's in full 3D. Graphics alone does not a game make.

@nickeox EA bought out Bullfrog - a wonderful little team based in the UK, who made wonderful games like SimCoaster and Sim Theme Park - and essentially shut it down as soon as they got their grubby little hands on it. SimCoaster's online features lasted just over a year, and support was terminated immediately for anything above Windows 2000. That's right, it isn't even technically supported on XP. Bullfrog would have gladly patched the game to run properly, but EA didn't give them the chance.

the graphics weren't as interesting to me...the only feature I liked was the first person on-ride camera, but the cgi was weird. You know, Chris Sawyer actually had no part in it...perhaps that's why it was so different. RCT2 was always my favorite :)
