probably the first band i got into with lyrics that were negative and about life's hardships. i was around 11 or 12. they really paved the way for my interest in heavier bands. i don't listen to staind that much these days, but i still appreciate them showing me at an early age that there was more than just happy emotion in music.

it's a real an awesome song. Trying to ignore that depression and suicide exist or debate wiether it's wrong or right or who it hurts the most is pointless. The person in that darkness has no ability to reason or understand the feelings of others or people that would be left behind and hurt. It's not personal or cowardly or anything else...it is what it is. Unless you've experienced depression-you have no idea the thinking pattern or the pain that person is in and experiencing.

About 4 years ago my friend was going through some serious shit in his life and actually made an attempt at his own life. He was asking me what he should do and I let him listen to this song and it helped him cope with the shit he was going through. He now has 2 children and a wife. True story.

Actually this is not just a song. This song is true. A mother lost her son to killing himself. She went to Aaron because her son listened to him. So to say it's just a song, it's down right rude. The song was written to help cope with life a little. Not just a song, it's written about a mothers child.

it's a real an awesome song. Trying to ignore that depression and suicide exist or debate wiether it's wrong or right or who it hurts the most is pointless. The person in that darkness has no ability to reason or understand the feelings of others or people that would be left behind and hurt. It's not personal or cowardly or anything else...it is what it is. Unless you've experienced depression-you have no idea the thinking pattern or the pain that person is in and experiencing.

I've had two friends kill themselves-and I have suffered more-internally-than they ever could imagine, but they still took the easy way out. I have not. I love this song. It definitely conveys how I feel about suicide. Life might be bad now but things do get better. So many people could have accomplished great things if they had just thought about their decision thoroughly.
