  • I'm sorry but people really need to get their heads out of their ignorant and self centered asses, and get some knowledge in stead! A lot of u talk shit about Ori, but do u dance Ori? NO! Do u really know the proper way to do it? NO! Do u know any Tahitians at all? NO! So instead of talk trash and tell lies, get ur self some facts...i

  • Lol the lady is so wrong, Doing Tamure has nothing to do with being sexy, poor ignorant woman! It's Hura in Tahiti, and Ura in the Cook Islands, it's usually said Ori Tahiti, or also Tamure...btw the washing machine has nothing to do w Ori either, dunno were they got that from! Bc to fa'arapu, u have to move the hips around fast in a large circle to get that movement, we call that a ''full fa'arapu'' bc u push ur hips evenly all the way around while u bend ur knees, and push equally!

  • O.C wattt mahn wea sooooooo happy that we came 2nd over all cheehoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But i jus wana say 2 all the ada colleges that we had the compition with on the cook island stage we had a lot of fun.

Kia Orana to u all and kakite ra.

  • how do they move there hips really fast? it must get tiering, ive tryed it. i must be just unfit =/

  • LOVE THE COOKS

  • I don't think the tahitian dancers are trying to be "sexy", they are trying to keep in time with the drummers.

  • true indeed. The Tahitians as well as several other islands including the Papuans had several native dances which were wither banned or belittled by the missionaries during the 18/19th ceunturies because they looked too "sexual", when actually they had nothing to do with that. This has presently created some identity problems for some islands including Tahiti which has looked to other Pacific Islands for inspiration-especially in dance.

  • i understand where the lady is coming from with the washing machine.. the hips are to sway side to side.. where as the washine machine movement she showed was an acutal washine machine..as for the full hip movement going round and round.. i say thats more of a hula hoop hip movement.. maybe..

  • ummmm yeah i can agree with you but im half tahitian and cook island and back at home in pape'ete there dancing is influenced by aitutaki people (cookislanders) thats a fact.

and dont reply please, this aint a hating page.

  • Yes Cadestah you are so right about the Tahitian dancing being influenced by the Aitutaki people Cook Islanders. In the days The Aitutakean's use to go over to Tahiti has invited guest by the french goverment and perform in the "Turai festival" (Heiva i Tahiti)and the Cook Islands were always a big hit with the locals, and every year the group would go back and perform and notice that the Tahitians groups had copy their items from the year before from singing, drumming and dancing etc.
