IMO the way to go is anarcho capitalism. People can and should self-organize if they want real power and freedom, rather than outsourcing this to some inefficient parasitic monopoly like the govt.
Of course outsourcing is always easier than learning the skill yourself, so right now we prefer to NOT do our own thinking personally, but expect others to do it.

Everyone in these structures should work on a rotating principle and should be immediately replaced if they are not doing their job. Get rid of the politicians and get a group of people (say doctors and surgeons for the medical post) to replace them. They could have a voted representative that takes their ideas to government and, once explained, the people vote.
