"Life is Sweet" has been one of my absolute favorite films since I first saw it in the theatre, and this is my favorite scene from it. The contrast between what Thewlis's character appears to be on the outside (an illiterate, gum-chewing oaf) and what he then reveals himself to be is so beautiful and touching...the underlying idea of "who's the real feminist here"...just artful.
