  • Did you know that before the reforms, there was no danger, exploitation, or pain? Everyone just starved all the time and had nothing.

  • @Ksabrs45 hahah oh so true! this is what people do NOT GET. It's better to be working and actually making something. Than to be starving to death. the employee sells his working power to their employers which is the buyer.

  • Every Chinese person should be proud of this lawyer. May he have many children to spread amongst the money worshipers of China (about 98%)

  • *A* right, is what *IS* right - the right way for a society to function, and there is only one way. Only one way that you can outgrow poverty, without living beyond your means so that you must eventually live below it, as so few IF ANY countries are managing today. You never have the right to that which is unaffordable. Only the fundamental rights of peace and sovereignity are always true. All other 'rights' are subject to circumstance, ignoring which, you DO live beyond your means.

  • This is not the way capitalism works. China is just now coming out of complete poverty. What many wrongly call 'rights', are actually a privelage of living in a robust economy. In a fully established economy, where the market has been embraced for more than 10 years for christ's sake, then it becomes profitable to pursue the interests of your own workers, ala Henry Ford. Right now the enterpreneurs are too desperate to afford it, and the workers too desperate to demand it. That changes in time.

  • too many people, to many => low-pad work and easy exploitation....

    fewer people, less suffering

  • If China would allow the yuan to rise, the people would be far more wealthy.

  • Although it looks brighter for them, they'll eventually go through the same rough patches that all systems do when they decay. It's the natural order for things. It's just sad that nothing ever starts out beautiful. It has to start out ugly, then there's a period of prosperity, and then ugly once again.

  • @AltairEgo1

People are just stupid that way. As they say those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Since China is coming from being poor to beginning to industrialize, they had the perfect opportunity to spend more initially and build properly and environmentally friendly and save themselves the headache of human and enviromental damage that they'll have to deal with in the future.

But instead like those before them, they're repeating the same mistakes. >_>

  • Like USA imigrant workers are any different.

  • sounds like communism is what the communists have always said capitalism is. And capitalism, well that has not existed for about 100 years.

Looks like the communists will have to become capitalist to get away from the scourges of capitalism. lol. Maybe one day people will try out a system based on individual rights.

  • So much for the promises of communism. They gave up all their rights for what?

  • American companies are run safely? Baloney. Every American company knows that when an inspection is due it's time to rush around like a maniac and make it look like you're following the rules.

  • @hannahunney

that goes for any line of work in an firm in any organization moron.

  • Comment removed

  • Mao is not appearing so oppresive now, after all?

    Marxism-Leninism for our future.

  • @moronchicken its better to be poor than pennyless. under mao, no one had a single penny, now, its a little better.

  • This isn't even watchable. Why would you upload such a broken video?

  • Long Live Chinese Communism! End the revisionism and the oppression of these workers!

  • China communist only name. USA investor Jim Roger said in you tube china is most capitalist country in the world.

  • @Ferior

Perhaps all the low-skill manufacturing work will be taken over by highly automated machines with a high degree of artificial intelligence.

  • china capitalist? yeah right. I'll believe capitalist countires exist when there is a nightwatchmen state.

  • China is capitalist country now.

  • @andyhwang2009 No China is still a communist country

  • @TubaGlider2 not any more i afraid

  • 1 billion population and economy that is beginning to boom, China can't be expected to have a greatest of working environment like Australia.

Then again the wealthies of nations even have sweatshops. U.S.A EU Russia India Suadi's It's a global problem even in Australia allowing cheap migrants to live and work here.

Australia may have the highest minium wage and the safest work practices but we're 20 million population,

When nations globally are effected by population growth.

  • The problem isn't capitalism. Dangerous working conditions for Chinese existed long before China began introducing limited amounts of Capitalism into its economy.

The problem has always been is a failure to respect individual rights.

  • You are dead right, the problem is not China, but an oppressive communist regime which keeps the individual slaves.

  • @LordoftheKaty or that factories and companies that enslave this people

  • 2008 released new labor law & it ends up factory close, running owner & worn out machinery. Occupational hazard/incident GOING to slow down a while. BUT, there's always certain province willing to sacrifice & gain advantage from invester, base on that, what being reported, will keep continually. Owner said, you don't like it then go, there's NO JOB for you, you end up homeless without having social status;to fight that, you risk and then, hoping you are not the one, its never ending story.

  • America used to be similar if not very similar to this during its industrial revolution.... now china does ignore human rights but back in the day you think workers where compensated ? no... man they used to send Chinese into mines with dynamite and if you blew up fuck it , it happened.

This is our world welcome. If your disgusted by anything you see then you have not looked hard at the world.

  • that's no excuse. china wants to be part of the modern world so it better face up to human and workers rights issues. we don't have time machines to go back and punish those in the west who exploited workers in the past, so there's no point holding living generations accountable for the misdeeds of dead and gone generations. we all exist in the same time period, and we should all be held to the same standards.

  • they want more rule the world.

  • Talk about irony. A video talking about the evils of capitalism that has advertisements all over it...

  • Very true. its a shame that all the heros of the revolution's work went to shame! extreemily sad!!

  • They are shifting from communism to a socialists state. Slowly, these things shouldn't be done fast.

  • CCCP!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @walaa925 LOL "Heroes" of the revolution's work resulted in 60 million dead Chinese. Shame on the "Heroes"!

  • @1XMarksSpot 3 years later, and I've changed my mind you're right

  • Actually that was made by the Australian ABC- A commercial free TV station owned by the Australian Government.

  • capitalism isnt bad, when it exploits human rights is, having advertisement around the video, is a very different analogy, from firing your employee without pay or chance to fight back,

  • A good documentary. China can learn a lot from countries that went to a similar process, like Great Britain, Germany, Japan and the US.

  • well actually that's how UK, Japan, and Germany come from!!! now China's turn!

  • @codeagent47 China is prospering but not like the UK, Japan, Germany, US, and other Euro nations of the past. Euro nations, US and Japan partly relied on colonialism (invasion) and exploitation of poorer nations to get rich, but China is doing it without invading others.

  • @donguinto wrong faggot ass nigga.

  • @codeagent47 And France ... dont forget France ...

but fucking china pollution is highter

  • I know one thing in 50 years china will go more clean then current or that time future.

  • Your right.

  • America sure went through it. Then the labor unions had their glory years and forced major changes in industry and government. And you know who runs the unions? Amazingly, we have the Mafia to thank for improving working conditions in America. Wow, how ironic is that?
