The first is a real case of genuine human suffering. The second is very far from it.

There are 170 Palestinan refugees per 1 UN social worker, while in the rest of the world there are 4,000 refugees per 1 UN social worker.
Palestinians have received more US aid per capita than the Israelis. The US has since '48 been the largest donor to UN organisations feeding, housing and educating Palestinian refugees. In 2008 the US gave $900 million to Gaza.
That works out to $600 for every Palestinian in the strip, nevermind the more indirect US contributions to the UN, and what the Europeans and Arabs contribute. (the grand total is over $2000 per person in my estimate.) Israel receives $3 billion for 7 million Israelis. That amounts to $428 per individual.
I am not saying that Palestinians are all wealthy. Far from it. I've visited teh place, and there is poverty there.
However, there is more poverty in Mexico (which I also visited and also did a statistical comparison.)
Also, if you care to notice, the talk about Mexico or ano other poor place, if it exists at all, is focused on assistance, not blaming or destroying some enemy. Only when it comes to this particular case is all the talk of Palestinian suffering used to attack and demonize Israel and Israelis.
Could it be that this is the purpose? That the barrage of talk about Palestinian suffering, while ignoring far greater suffering in most of the world is due to desire to exterminate at least the 6 million Israeli Jews?

Palestinians in Gaza used to be able to work in Israel and Israelis used to buy from businesses in Gaza. However, when Hamas began sending human bombs, mortars and rockets into Israel, the borders closed. I think any country would do the same as Israel in order to protect their citizens.

True, the "Palestinian" Arabs of the West Bank (Jordan) and Gaza (Egypt) never had 1-state or country. However since 1967 when Jordan and Egypt lost the land through war and then abandoned the Palestinians, they have become a separate people.
Unfortunately they have not become a peaceful people. Egypt does not want Gaza back and Jordan does not want their own West Bank back. Israel might agree to return the Palestinians to the care of their Arab brothers.

That works out to $600 for every Palestinian in the strip, nevermind the more indirect US contributions to the UN, and what the Europeans and Arabs contribute. (the grand total is over $2000 per person in my estimate.) Israel receives $3 billion for 7 million Israelis. That amounts to $428 per individual.
I am not saying that Palestinians are all wealthy. Far from it. I've visited teh place, and there is poverty there.
