  • i think i crapped my pants after this vid stopped

  • if it only had the HUMP the M3 has on the hood it would be waay better looking

  • Because BMW developed it in Germany Before Audi/VW. They just brought it to the US first.

  • 3.0L inline 6-Cylinder Twin Turbo! WOW! 300HP in that small car!!!

  • Great video... I love the shot with the glowing manifolds: nice.

  • pure awesomeness

  • perfect car

  • thats right the best engines in the world im geting that baby next year

  • If I hit the jackpot, I will buy a 1,3,5,6,&7 series.

  • No 8 Series?

  • anything from BMW!

  • please don't let them make this in an automatic

  • well..it comes with the paddle shifter AT

  • not really... it's lighter with the same engine as in the 335i. With a turbo switch this car is more tuner friendly than the 335i.

  • Cannot wait to see this car with a ecu remap. Reminds me of the e30 325s with turbo kits.

Also what is a turbo switch?

  • I'm just talking about swapping out the stock tubos for larger ones with more boost potential. The stock ones are small because most people would rather have slightly less power and not have to deal with the lag brought on by a big spool.

  • yeap, i can't afford the bigger models, but this is one will get car of the year! very nice!

  • BMW 2002 reborn..... cant wait for the tii version

  • I also work at bmw, in the body shop but i took one of these out for a spin, and all i can say is fuckin sweet, it is like a baby m3, its a fun lil car definately go take a test drive and see what i mean. bmw is putting fun back in the driving experience

  • Had the pleasure of a drive in one (work at BMW) and I can say that the 135i was super quick. A genuine 'baby M3'!!

  • ugthe... whatever your name is.. Turbos and turbo engines has been around from the early years BUT BMW was the first manufacturer to produce a PRODUCTION turbo charged vehicle... End of story

  • Germany means best enginneers.

  • true :) specially when you looked on 2007 engine of the year results contest you know that that is true :)

  • thats true..it gives out 306hp if not even more

  • i heard a rumor that BMW is being conservative about the output figures and the engine gives out a bit more than 300bhp

  • i wouldnt doubt it,especially with the 13 second quarter miles that car and driver has done.the times they got doesnt make sense for a rearwheel drive 3400 lb 300 hp car.

  • @serbonbon

Yeah, it also does 4.8 sec to 60. Not 5.1

  • The first turbo charged road car of the history was the BMW 2002 turbo. It appeared in the middle of an global oil crisis. The car was brutal in power but was born in a inadequate time, so it finally didn't have success. BMW is a true pioneer of turbo.

The second turbo charged road car was the Porsche 911 turbo.

  • The first production turbocharged automobile engines came from General Motors in 1962. The A-body Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire and Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder were both fitted with turbochargers. The Oldsmobile is often recognized as the first, since it came out a few months earlier than the Corvair

you wrote all that just to look stupid

    good job

  • Ugthetallman is right on this one. I am a BMW fan, but the facts remain. GM was first.

  • very weird a turbo in a bmw

  • BMW and turbos go way back, they ressurrected the turbo into production vehicles back in '73 with the 2002 Turbo and also used it in F1 in the 80s...

  • i want one !!!

  • B M W

    e y i f e

  • lol this car sounds so much worse in Gran turismo 5 prologue

  • God i want this car . Thanks

  • Love BMW engines...my 2000 323i still runs like new @ 147,000 miles.
