Just so that every one knows - Iranians are Shi'ites - they have a different religious system then the rest of the Islamic world. So, in reality, this is confusing over another level of confusion because here in the west, we sit back and examine these things as if they were all of the same scope. The entire Islamic world from East to West is 90% Sunni Islam. Iran and several smaller communities are the remaining 10% known as Shiites. So, Iranian legal system is based on Shiite/Iranian only.
