Wako I got the 3v based solely on this video. I've watched most of ur work and felt for some reason I wanted the 3v. It's a beautiful knife. I cant believe how sharp it is! I'm very happy with the knife. Shame about the buckle stud on the sheath. Thanks
@Allevj30 The factory edge of 3V Bravo1 was definitely sharper than my stropped edge of A2 Bravo1. I haven't stropped my 3V Bravo1 yet for the edge endurance test. But it stays sharp awesomely so far. Sharpness itself and edge retention on 3V seem pretty different from those of A2. If it takes stropping as easily as A2, I will need to change my steel to 3V from now. By the way I quit using this crappy sheath after having heard they quit shipping it with the knife. Thanks.
Nice, I watched your other video before I watched this one! It happens. These anmiles are so pumped with adrenalin nuthing will stop them! If its your first it won't be your last. Good looking deer.
It is the hunter's responsibility to finish what he starts. If Japan's laws limit the hunter to an underpowered firearm, the hunter should compensate by being closer before shooting and, if necessary, by finishing a wounded deer with an additional shot at close range. Wildly firing multiple shots, and frequently missing or wounding deer, as seen in several of this person's videos, and videoing a suffering deer instead of finishing it, as seen in this video, is dishonorable.
@androidandre I extracted the heart from the minimum incision and held it up triumphantly and said "It is very tasty to eat". I can have been looked like a devil for someone. Thanks.
Wako, the reality is important I think to see, there is no kindness or mercy in killing animals and the truth is there is no kind way to kill, so for me the fact that you warned people is great, as far as I'm concerned you've done the right thing right there. Anyway, to ask a silly question where did you buy the 3v from?
Ahh, I dont like to see hunting, but I have seen what goes on in slaughter houses. I eat cow , so I support hellish suffering everyday. I watch the slaughtering of a lot of living things. It keeps me grounded and helps me cope with living as a filthy human. I hope animals will conquer the earth again. If there was no hunting then wild animals will suffer more greatly while starving. Have you ever seen a starving bear? I hope hunters would worship nature and animals.
@killkill120 I have ever seen starving deer many times during hunting in March. I don't shoot them and keep them for the next season. They are too hungry and much careless. They are eating just on the side of the road.
Nice video again. preview was good . you make as an observer and show the point of view .
As other hunter friends mentioned about respect to our animals makes as real Hunters so we should kill them without any pain and suffer. That makes as real hunters.
So now you like hard steels? as 3v? as you told that you like easy shaprining kind stills. right??
@MrTufan35 The 3V Bravo1 is still awesomely sharp and no need to resharpen at all. When time comes, I mean when the edge endurance test is finished, it will go clear if it is hard to sharpen or not. If it is very hard to sharpen like ZDP-189, I will not like it as I don't like the ZDP. Thanks.
Most people who comment on hunting being cruel are either hypocrites or Vegans. In both cases they are idiots.
Hypocrites are those that say hunting is cruel but then shovel steaks into their mouths ignoring the fact that they let other people do their dirty work in killing the animals they eat.
Vegans take the moral high ground that killing is wrong but ignore the fact that animals are killed when farmers harvest the vegetables they eat.
Great video. Keep them coming. Good speech about those who feel they want to lecture us on hunting. They don't have to watch and they can keep their comments to themselves. Your videos are real and very informative. They are not cruel. Those who think that are mistaken.. They don't understand the cycle of life in nature. They just read books and think they know it all. In reality they are the dumb ones because they lack the direct experience. God bless and keep the videos coming.
Wako, I love all you videos, however I think it IS our responsibility as hunters to ensure the game we take does not have unnecessary suffering. I have had to cut a deer's throat on a couple of occasions. Cut the throat!
@Chassealarc It stopped moving very soon before cutting throat. I just wanted to broadcast the hunting reality. So I took the camera soon after the final shot which was given at 20 yards to its heart. Thanks.
I love how you gave us the warning up front, and great video as always what you show here is reality, while i would have liked to but the animal out of its misery as soon as possible it is not always possible especially if you have used up all your ammo. Is it the law that you can only carry six bullets at a time?
@Kevinthewiseone No. I still had 5 rounds. But I didn't feel any necessity to give it one more shot as a deer hunter who have ever killed 400 deer. Actually it stopped moving soon after the video was taken. Trust me that that kind of final movement often happens and stops soon. It had no consciousness nor fear then. Thanks.
Especially the beginning part where you were just taking a break eating that orange. I must say that japan has some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen!! You capture my two favorite things on video, hunting and beautiful outdoor scenery. Some day when I can afford it I will visit japan! But until that day I will enjoy watching your videos :)
@steveo6891 i said the exact same thing. I always knew i wanted to visit japan, but now i'm more inclined to visit after watching virtuvoice's videos.
I love the big smile on your face in the beginning of your video. I watch your channel the most out of all my subscriptions. Your the best Wako, thanks for great videos.
Excellent video. Very thoughtful of you to give a warning upfront.
The thoughts going through my head after watching:
Is there a maximum number of shots that you can shoot?
If the government limits the caliber, do they provide any other lead on how to quickly finish a prey once it is not killed instantly (which may happen anytime)?
Do to the editing, we were not able to see everything, which is fine. But I was wondering: did you need to perform any actions to speed up the kill?
@tfhr1977 It was the fastest kill for this case. Maybe It ran away from me around 20 minutes and 500 yards. I gave it 5 shots. I believe 4 shots hit it. The final shot was from 20 yards to its heart. But some guy say I was wrong. He doesn't know a big stag runs 100 yards even after taking a bullet into its heart. The one shot kill must be on its neck or head. Thanks.
I think youll find out once you get your high power rifle that alot of the deer will fall right when you shoot them because of the shock to their nervous system and will bleed out before they become conscious. Most people think deer die instantly when shot, but they do not unless its a good head shot or the spine is destroyed. Like you said, even a perfect heart shot, the deer can still run for over 100 yards before expiring
"On the ethical question of whether it is right to kill a wild deer as against a domesticated cow, I will quote a Greenland Inuit, who responded to accusations from a southern "environmentalist" with the reply: "Our animals are wild and free up until the very moment of death. Yours are imprisoned from the time of birth, have no freedom, and come all crowded to death in terror. Which do you think is cruel?"
That 410. rifle of yours MUST be too underpowered. Those shots where well placed, at least the ones I saw. This silly restriction that the government has put on you is to blame. It will probably get better with some expanding 30.06 rounds. There is some truly beautiful nature in your hunting grounds there, your filming is showing it off well.
Another Great Video Wako. I am a hunter and knife lover like yourself, and I know from experience that not every stag can be a "one shot kill" . It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to watch your movies. I check your channel for new uploads almost every day. Keep up the good work, Thanks, and Good Luck on future hunts.
Wako thank you for showing us this video. I don't like to see animals suffering but it was educational. It is better for us to know that this can happen in hunting. I hope that it was not a fault in your ammunition.
Such a beautiful place you have to hunt there, wow! I also notice the same bird sounds in every video. Are those crows? They often sound very excited, not so prevalent in this video as some others however. How'bout the BRKT Aurora, that's another comparable knife to Bravo 1, would you think not enough belly for your purposes?
Waco you are becoming quite an accomplished filmmaker...beautiful and interesting scenes. (good idea giving a warning). I agree with other comments, a large part of the problem is an under powered round. I find it difficult to imagine that government "experts" would restrict you to a 410 for such large game. I am looking forward to the review of the new Bravo 3V... curious to know how it compares to the A-2 steel model?
Hello there, Wako! I am a huge fan of your knifevideos - I have learned alot from you, thanks! But; my friend.. I am also a hunter, and I do not understand your reasoning..?! Every time I hunt, my goal is to kill my game as quick, clean and as humane as possible. I have on several occations given a deadly wounded animal a final shot to the head or the neck - because I feel its unethical to stand around waiting for it to slowly die.. So therefore it's my opinion that you should do the same thing.
@Wolverpaw Apparently you did not listen to the beginning of this video very carefully.
He shot the animal four times. How many times do you want him to shoot it?
I have worked in beef packing plants where animals are "knocked" precisely in the forehead with a 3/8 steel rod into their brain cavity. Even those most of them die immediately some continue to move and have spasms etc for up to 10 minutes. It is rare but it happens. I doubt you kill all your animals perfectly everytime either.
@handsomewood1 No, I heard him, but I presume he gave it 4 bodyshots.. none in the head. I know that quite often it can take some time for it to die, I've been there! Also between animals the killing can be long - and we seldom call that unethical or cruel.. So I might be wrong to judge.. However, It is my opinion and my philosofy, that I find honor in killing the game as quikly as I can. And in my experiance, a closeup shot to the head (behind the ear) has always ended the show..
@Wolverpaw FWIW, I hunt as well and most of the animal I take go down with one shot most of the time to the neck or spine. The thing is, unless the Central Nervous system is hit, it can take a while for an animal to die. Wakku is a trophy hunter. He did not want to shoot the animal in the head and ruin the skull. The only thing I would recommend his maybe he might slide around the side and shoot them in the side of the neck severing the spine there. It would not ruin any meat or the skull.
@Wolverpaw I don't care about the final leg motion or such. It happens in many cases. Only when a deer was shot on its spine and kept its consciousness and fear, I would give it the final shot on its neck. It actually stop moving soon after the video without doing anything. I can say very clearly that it had no consciousness at all when I took the final video. I am a deer hunter and not a cruel murderer at all. I hope you will know it.
All of us who watch your recordings, respect and love your habits and way of hunting. In my country is prohibited deer hunting so I enjoy all your recordings.
@Iseekoutthetruth I have never met a deer hunter once I got into mountains by walk. Many hunters are too old to do it. Incredibly the hunter's average age is 65 here. It's because of the current peaceful education. The hunter's population is getting smaller and smaller while the deer population is getting larger and larger. So once I get into the mountain I will get a stag in 90% probability. Thanks.
Dismiss deer that keep kicking with one additional shot to the head. That should end it. That's inhumane and it *is* your responsibility. I too am a fellow hunter but I have respect for wildlife that God created.
Waki, great video as always, cant wait to see the follow up where you discuss in detail how the 3v performed.. MrBeno, great update. I dug alittle deeper into this whole rude arrogant mike stewart thing. It seems yes many do have complaints with his attitude on the forum, but on the flip side when people needed advice or help he was open arms and pleased to help people. Guess theres two sides to everything and you really have to know someone personally to really get to know them.
Yeah buddy! Do you happen to know how much a used bravo1 would cost? My brother in law just started hunting and I am looking to get him a gift. Great prize!!!
Hey Wako,Nice buck.I wouldn't be too concerned about people who talk about cruelty in hunting. Not many of them have hunted or been in a situation where they have shot a animal and it was still kicking. Some people talk about cruelty in hunting but never say anything about how the steak they are eating landed on their plate.I have never met a hunter that went hunting to be cruel. We all do our best for a clean kill, sometimes it takes longer for the animal to die, that's reality.Great video,Thanks
Have you chosen the caliber you will upgrade when you have the legal time allowance? I would personally lean you towards 30.06 caliber. I would love to hunt a great trophy animal like this one in your beautiful mountains. If you ever desire to hunt whitetails, in N America feel free to visit. You will have to take the whole animal though. :D
Bravo 1 sheath update: Hello everyone, I called BRKT to discuss the sheath issue and they said they'll be making a new and updated batch and I should call in two weeks in order to receive a free replacement to the UK. Thank you.
I think once you are able to use the 308 rifle or the 30-06 you want to buy, you will have much better success killing the deer faster. There are so many choices in different bullet weights and bullet construction.
Once you get the high powered rifle look into the Nosler partition or Nosler Balistic tips. Hornady makes some great hunting bullets too, the A-max and SST are fantastic bullets for the size deer you hunt
Anyway once you get your 308 you will have a HUGE amount of options for bullets
sounds like you freezin ur ass off man

Bravo 1 sheath update: Hello everyone, I called BRKT to discuss the sheath issue and they said they'll be making a new and updated batch and I should call in two weeks in order to receive a free replacement to the UK. Thank you.

The land there is beautiful. How well did the 3V hold it's edge?

This video shows the reality of hunting. I am certain you try your hardest for a clean kill with every deer. Keep shooting straight, and making vids.
