its not both auto and stick buddy, it is an automatic transmission that has a variable shifter. these types of systems lag like a mofo because they are computer controlled, not mechanically controlled. so yes you get to PRETEND its a manual. imo, just go get the real manual tranny for 5-600 and do the swap, you'll be happy you did.

@21jbudd The letter just means the trim package. The second number is the motor. A 528 and a 328 both have a 2.8 for example. The 23 and 25 are the same displacement but have different intake set ups.

BMWs are one of the easiest cars I have worked on and probably the easiest to tune.
