No, it's tuned like any other standard guitar but has a shorter scale. The scale is the length measured from nut to saddle. The shorter it is, the less tension. Mediums on a parlor=WOW!
I've never played the P-05MT...played a P-05 with a spruce top a few times though...I say buy it! Larrivee parlors are some of the nicest out there today. Cheers
why does the playing of this piece on this paticular guitar sound so authenticly correct ? this is the best version of this song ihave ever heard i should know i am 54 years old and have known this song since i was17 years old
Denis: Well, I finally 'nailed' it .. using lesson and all I finally pretty much mastered Little Martha .. never thought I could do it and I keep your video on hand so I can duplicate the strokes. After watching many renditions of Little Martha I find yours to be the 'truest' to the original .. so thanks again. Oh! Picked up a L-10 to go along with my Larrivee D-05
This is the song that made me want to play the guitar. I have been playing a Wolf Marshal arrangement for many years and never made ti sound like yours.
Is this the same Little Martha that you did a couple years ago? For some reason I believe this a different one. Both are masterful, but this new one is particularly articulate and precise. Very well done! Thanks for posting.
Like all good guitarists, you have large hands, long fingers. Wish somebody had cautioned me that small hands are a detriment to playing before I fell in love with the guitar and the sounds it "can" make.
that, my friend, was beautifully done. there's something so cozy about those tiny guitboxes - and this one's got a great ring to it (and this is coming from a guy who wouldn't even consider an all-hogger...)
Nice tone, nice touch. You inspired me to learn this tune for the first time after hearing the original a zillion times in the last 30 years. Thanks - !
It's a Larrivee all mahogany parlor, an older satin finish model which the no longer make. They do still make the occasional gloss version though. Search for a P-05MT...
Actually, it's a satin finish Larrivee all mahogany parlor which I sadly no longer own. Still my Larrivee 00-50 is way more guitar, it's the best I've ever owned.
hey thanx for the info, i'm a player for almost 40 yrs & thats the best rendition of "Little martha" yet & i've listened to 'em all..or the ones i could stand! anyway you have the feel, tempo & the arrangement down,
You D' Man!!,...been piddling with that great song forever, but never got in the right key. Thanks for the info on tuning to Open D and capoing the 2nd to put it in,..much easier on the guitar too. Love these Larrivees,..got a D-05 and a D-09 Brazilian,...that little Parlor sounds huge!! Awesome touch you've got,..keep em' comin',..TR, Hurricane Alley(FL)
Thanks for posting that tune. Beautifully played. I`ve been contemplating buying a Larrivee Parlor. Considering I`m listening to mono sound through cheap computer speakers, that guitar has a beautiful sound. `Course your wonderful playing doesn`t hurt!
Well played,nice guitar,nice table!

What's the difference between a parlor and a standard guitar? Is it true everything is an octave up?

On Eat a Peach, it`s tuned down just a bit from open E. I play it tund down to open D on my parlor but on the L-03, I would try open D, capo 2
