why do some people have to be so mean about this comercial? the humane society is just trying to help abused and neglected animals who need homes with humans that will love them
i saw laura gibson open for colin meloy in atlanta last thursday and she told the audience about this commercial so we could have "wonderful images of pets in our heads" :)
Perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean by that, Mr./Ms. crabbypants.
I do not believe that this campaign is an attempt by the Oregon Humane Society to say that absolutely everyone could/should have a pet. The message, in my opinion, is that many people could have more fulfilling lives if shared with a pet. That is not an irresponsible message, it is in fact, uplifting.
what a wonderful little bird

¿¡Que es esta mierda!?
¿Propaganda demagógica sobre la explotación animal en este mundo? ¡no gracias!

You make a good point.
But if the animals are already couped up in shelters due to our negligence, why not provide them with a loving home?

Really? A pet for every man, woman, and child? Even those like Kip Kinkle? (oregonians should get the reference)

This made me sort of want to cry when I saw it on TV. The billboards in Portland are great, too!

Cute. But I never see any humane society or SPCA commercials where I live in MD- we could definitely use some!
