i got siri on my iPod by installing siriport.ru and the certificate then i did the restore thing and now i have a working siri i don't think it is the backup i think it is the certificate.

that happened to me tooo....i got an ipod touch 4th gen jailbroken.....i installed sirious ( siri dictation) then after respring there was some white icon on my springboard says setup adsheet nd oother one ....then i tap on setup then it showed me the location services setup 2:20 nd same thing happened as happened to you. actually i didnt backed up or did anythin like u did ...........if any developer is watching this video....... help us out....peace

This happens because you have Spire installed, apple has not authorised anything. Its just asking if u want to use it or not, if u click NO then you can just go into Settings, General, Siri, The switch it back on.

FYI, backups can be restored to ANY iOS devices iPad included, BUT what this means is that the 4S backup includes Siri Setup files which when you restored it onto your iPod it got those files. Also, this happens for battery % if you have it on (on the 4S) and back it up and then put it on your touch. The touch will display a percentage, but you can't toggle it on/off only erasing the settings works

Yeah, when you install spire, it doesn't matter what device you are on, the developers make it to where when the device sees spire, it recognizes it as Siri. Which is why you have the siri option in settings and which is also why they setting for siri are exactly the same as an iphone 4s's. Thats also why it gave you the authorization screen cause your devices software reconizes spire as Siri. Which is exactly what they want it to do.

it's because you have the option to toggle siri on or off in your settings, so when you setup it asks if you want to turn on or not, even like that siri does not work

i installed spire then went to Settings-->General-->Reset-->R­eset all Settings

then after the reboot it asked me about siri

it does not require an iphone 4S
