Fingerprints don't make a hell of a difference. Fingers and toes have tissue, but not the other way around. PP & NARAL actually discourage their members from debating and engaging in conversation w pro-life people. If abortion is based on truth, wouldn't they encourage their supporters to try to convert? Instead, it's the other way around. "Statutory rape" by definition is a 'rape' in name only. A "statute" was drawn up to vilify what might be considered consensual by all rational standards. It depends on the situation. (A 19 yr old girl and a 15 yr old boy consenting to have sex could be considered a rape.)
Statutory rape in the strict sense is only rape because our government says so, not because there were any real victims or damages.
I'm not discriminating but what I am saying is that when an underaged girl is raped, she should seek an abortion if she feels she can handle it. It's child neglect if her parents force her to carry to term, or for anybody in that matter. If she can't handle the pregnancy, by all means, go ahead and abort, she's still a child under legal definition, and under physical circumstances, she has to be tended to first. Her emotional,physical,mental,and social needs have to come first.
I have an idea. How about we help a 16yr old get an abortion (after all her, boyfriend INSISTS she has to get it), so no one has to find out she's prego (including parents), and we CAN'T tell anyone that her 24yr old boyfriend got her pregnant (proof of statutory rape). I was that teenager and I almost aborted for those same reasons. But I will tell you something that no one tells us prior to choosing abortion. "You don't know WHO you are getting rid of." People only asume the worst case senario and ASUME the child will destroy our lives. I have friends who did abort for the same reasons. They NEVER were the same. Abortion changes your life. It's not just something you can get over and move on with. You pay with a high price, and can never "undo" that choice.
So did you give your newborn up for adoption or keep it? If you put it up for adoption, you're still aborting it. You forget that an unborn embryo/fetus is still being raised more than it is being carried, since the woman has to obtain nutrients everyday. And the unborn also takes them in everyday. If she were to not take in nutrients, the unborn starves. Hence raising a 'child'.
Why say this? Because adoption is refusing to raise a child and hence is a form of abortion.
