Because only 13 episods were made by TMS and the rest were by other companies. I believe AKOM did this company. They pretty much do lackluster jobs in animation. The animation isn't that great in this episode, either IMO. 0:15 for example where Peter's arms "jitter" and when the pirates row.

hehe. yes, tragic - he's caught between youth and adulthood. By all accounts, he's young enough to be part of the Lost Boys, but he has adult responsibilities with the pirates instead of a childhood. I feel like that must be a lonely position. Plus, given the book's ending....

I wouldn't say tragic, since nowadays it is a big cliche in media. The again, tragic pasts have been done in the 80's and 70's as well. Not just on the telly, but on the big screen and books as well. I never took an interest in this show, though. I was more into Super Sentai at that time as well for a certain bottle cap game. To each of their own. Only characters I liked in here was Mullins and Tootles.
