  • I never heard this version before. I've heard the demo versions of black sabbath and war pigs before, but not this version of paranoid. Interesting.

  • Ozzy was hot! the rest look like creepy pedophiles with those mustaches.

  • This is so funny I have been a lead singer for many years nd I know when a guy is just making shit up that fits-Go OZZY not every one can do it off the cuff Blah balah my woman cos she somethin somethin to my mind yeah! I read where Brian Johnson from Acca DAcca sang the same lyrics for three or four songs on their first tour of Back in Black- just in different tempo's cos he had forghotten the lyrics! Hahahahaha Rock and Roll!

  • Black sabbath the greatest and heaviest band ever. This is my favorite song of all time.

  • Heavy metal was a term used by a pitsburg paper to describe the music and as a pun because Black Sabbith played between three of the largest sheet metal forges in pitsburg. So yeah without Black Sabbith Heavy Metal wouldn't exsist.

  • @cpgerhard79

    No.

  • Current version is way better. One of the best songs in history.Still, miles over most popular songs today.Even with crappy quality.

  • its ozzy he's rockin out ! thanks for all the black sabbath, sabbath fan!

  • yeah!!!

    fucking sabbath!!!

  • It's obviously Ozzy singing. If you were a true Ozzy or Sabbath fan you could tell.

  • To anyone that doesn't think this is real, I've seen this version of the song on VH1 Classic's Biography of Black Sabbath, and they acknowledged that Ozzy first made lyrics that were different and didn't really go with the song.

  • The lyrics is not correct :S or how many paranoid versions have they made??

  • @Zukatsr125 this was ozzy just trying to think of things as he went, they explain it on the Classic Albums DVD for Paranoid

  • they did right to chance the lyrics

  • This Song was 30years bevor.

  • ozzy is fucking wicked live!

  • @drag117 Drag what the fuck is ur problem? Stop advertising him and mentioning his name in this videos u fucking idiot. Noone gives a shit about him... all ur doing is advertising and making MORE POPULAR U FUCKING IDIOT

  • love old black sabbath recordings.

  • if you want alt lyrics go get the Paranoid Deluxe edition CD

  • 3 words:GODS OF METAL!!

  • @drag117

Or you can just ignore it, so the negative backlash doesn't inspire a bunch of stupid 11-16 year old girls to "like" the video and leave their stupid as comments.

Live and let live. People seem to forget this idea. Let the good and bad sort itself out.

  • I have heard Ozzy's voice for many years n this isn't it. The whole thing sounds like crap.

  • @Kain8411

Well it is Ozzy. So I guess that makes your ears crap.

  • @blacksabfan Are you saying that in a negative way?

  • @cornholio51

I'm saying that person's ears don't work. I'm not sure what's so negative about it.

  • @blacksabfan its ozzy and he rocks..thnks for all the music

  • @Kain8411 You're 100% right. It's not Ozzy, however it's still a decent cover.

  • @MrJo1340

    it's a bootleg, so it's bad quality.

  • @Kain8411 Thats defiantly Ozzy. His voice sounded different between his Sabbath days and his Solo career.

  • this was 40 years ago today! 6/26/10

  • Maybe Ozzy was just drunk or stoned?..............Though the lyrics could very well be in an early form prior to the finished product.

  • I was aware Sabbath had alternative lyrics to a few songs, did not know they had some for paranoid, I wish I could make out what he was saying lol.

  • Saw them in 74 still Gods of Metal

  • the guy alled mreersniper its right

  • where can i find these lyrics plz???

  • @blacksabfan you need to actually respect other people's opinions so your video isn't worth horse shit

  • @mrdeersniper

But you don't obviously need to respect my opinions, right? You don't need to tell me this is horseshit--that's just being a dick who's looking for a fight. If you don't like it, act like a man instead of a 13 year old and just move on with your life and watch something else.

That said, I respect opinions from someone who's worth a damn and knows what he's talking about. You're not it. Glad we cleared that up.

  • @blacksabfan I agree with you 100% I collect Black Sabbath bootlegs and have tons and tons, and nothing beats the original line up,early 70 vibe of Sabbath, that guy is just a dick head.

  • @mrdeersniper WHY HORSE SHIT....CANT YOU JUST SAY SAY SHIT...PLAIN AND SIMPLE

  • This isn't worth horse shit I mean it dosen't sound like Ozzy in 1970 or whenever this video was made so this sucks

  • @mrdeersniper

If you're used to the studio-enhanced crap Ozzy is known for now, I could understand why you think it doesn't sound like him. This was back when he was still semi-talented...25 years before you were probably born.

Nonetheless, thanks for your uninformed opinion which also isn't worth horse shit.

  • @blacksabfan lol -I agree, seemed his voice was very much like an additional instrument on albums 1 & 2...On album #1 he had a nasal rasp with a baritone edge, on Parinoid the nasal tone was there with slightly less rasp...by the time of MOR his voice was noticably higher while the music had less of a progressive edge, on Vol 4 the music seemed to regain some of its early charm however the tight & punchy kick was missing, Butlers bass tone was muddy and the vocals were high & whiney (IMO)

  • @blacksabfan HAha, that was funny. This sounds good.

  • @blacksabfan: Come on. I see where you're comming from, but unfortunately we have to deal with the fact that Ozzy isn't getting any younger and at least he knows what he's doing in the studio. All their albums were studio enhanced (except the live ones and some of those could have used some).

  • @WhatFuckingUsernameI

Actually most live albums have tons of studio enhancement done to them.

I would also like to make clear that there's a lot of difference to the type of work done in the studio back in the 70s, as to what he does now, particularly with his voice.

  • @mrdeersniper This isent shit, this is true Black Sabbath, that's how Ozzy sounded in 1970.

  • WTF?? Thank God they re-wrote that........

  • haha sounds like he was maggot out of his brain and had forgotten the lyrics

  • love your picture man PHIL LYNOTT !!!

  • AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU good song

  • of where is that orchestral voice that started,,the movement..

  • I've heard for the first time. What's going on...

  • Black Sabbath the Pioneer Of Heavy Metal.

  • Amen to that brother

  • Ozzy actually hated the term "Heavy Metal" the first time he heard the term was "Born to be wild" "heavy metal thunder"

"We were just a blues band that decided to write some scary music"

  • @darkness2121 not only the pioneers, the FATHERS of metal

  • its sounds like ozzy is just winging it

    cool

  • Ozzy was writing the lyrics on stage while singing them!!!

  • iommi can play each of his songs with three different solos ....

he is a guitar genius !!!!!!

  • Who gave me a thumbs down?!

Probably one of those fags that listens to this new music and thinks its metal...Maybe even music.

  • haha right on man.. emo fucking wannabe vampire cocksuckers

  • The 4 fathers of HEAVY METAL!

    This kicks fucken ass!!!!

  • This is a great version of the song. Sounds like they hadn't finalized the lyrics. Live and raw.

  • the best song in rock history

  • hmm...

  • this song is really good

  • i prefer the other version

  • yes, this version is quit repetitive with the word "mind"

  • even if im wrong this song is amazing!!! i love the solo

  • hey you know how you said in the lyrics they said this Mind just didn't go good for you

because my mind's all full of hate

i believe its "i guess im no good for you because my mind's all full of hate"

  • Comment removed

  • Nice Solo!!!

This is Better than the studio versiion

  • That intro by Toni is smooooooth in this video.

  • Hey. Its the comment I put up from my old profile.

    Whats up lxh?

  • This is really good

  • oh my god! Really cool you dug up a such rare thing as this! Sounds like Ozzy's makin' things up on the way, like it sounds like on live shows on the early version of Killing yourself to Live. But then again, he was high as a mountain back in '73. He also makes some lyrics up on Snowblind on the same show.

  • the uy whos talking at first is that ozzy cause he sounds so diffrent when he sings

  • You got the whole show?

  • Yes, I have the whole recording. People debate whether it's a complete show or not. I tend to think it's not...It's one of those things that's not very clear among Sabbath collectors and traders.

Someone seeded it recently over on Dimeadozen. It's actually fairly common.

  • Yeah...the story the band always tells is that paranoid was wrote in 20 minutes at the studio as a filler when they were told they needed one more song. I doubt this performance happened before the album was recorded.

  • By my recollection...this was one of the first shows immediately after "Paranoid" was recorded. I think Ozzy even mentions just recording it at some point in the recording. I'd have to listen to it to remember for sure.

  • this probably isnt an alternate version...its just ozzy can really improvise...or they coulda just made up the song recently b/c the solo wasnt really the same

  • You people are looking way too much into the word "alternate". It's a live version that's significantly different than the studio album, hence ALTERNATE. I could of said "live adlibbed version" and I would of meant the same thing. It's "alternate" in the literal sense of the word. You're overanalyzing.

By the way, Iommi never plays the solo the same way twice. I've heard about 250 versions of Paranoid and no two are alike.

  • That's what's wrong with bands now a days, they study the way they play a solo, and try to copy it exactly(if they even play solos)

  • haha im guessing these arent alternate lyrics he just very stoned and fucked up a bit

  • They are 'alternate' in that they aren't the same as what's the album.

They are probably just partially ad-libbed. I'm sure they were just recently written and Ozzy couldn't remember them.

  • ....Ozzy was young there!! and good-looking too

  • Yeah he was, wasn't he :) I used to be so crazy about him...still am...but it's different now...way back...I could just eat him XD

  • i love black sabath

    ozzys really cute here :P

    he rocks

  • really good version

  • Thanks! I am a fan of alternate versions of these songs.

  • the solos different too!

    i like this one more

    its darker than the original!

  • Uhhh..this IS the "original"...if you want to go there..it pre-dates the recorded version by at least a few months. I bet they used Germany as a test ground for songs before they had the lyrics gelled...probably on the baisis it's hard for Germans to understand Ozzy's English, I'm sure...

  • cool!

  • I've NEVER heard this version before. What a find! Excellent work as always blacksabfan

  • is the best song

  • This is really good

  • Oh, thats sweet. I alays thought of the lyrics of Paranoid as an great old, classical, true thing, that always were..

But this alternative is good to. :)

  • i love this song.........the best :)

  • Even solo is quite different. It sounds like consequence of some specifics and vitamins that they took, that is to much booze and drugs!

  • lol all three of them (not ozzy) look like brothers!

  • ik and because of that i cudnt tell who was who out of those three (most of the time) friggin lol!

  • Ozzy Osbourne is not the prince of darkness or the king of darkness;

    OZZY IS THE DARKNESS!!!!!!!

  • ozzy is the only one without a stash

    thats y they fired him

    lol

  • i love the way the intro sounds in this

  • long live the sabbath their music will live up through centuries \m/(-_-)\m/

  • I like "Somebody Help Me" instead of "Can you help me" at 1:15. Just my opinion. Good job on that one Geezer.

  • long hair and mustache HELL YA

there my foviorite heavy metal band

  • But rock band is gay so you fail

  • badass!

  • maybe it didnt ryme but these lyrics are awsome

  • This is awesome.

  • They probably weren't finished at this time, or they perhaps had just been written and Ozzy forgot them and just ad-libbed. Not really sure. Perhaps even Geezer wrote this first, and then realized that it just wasn't that good. You'd probably have to ask Geezer.

  • Yeah...i'll just pick up the phone and call him lol

  • Yeah, because I meant that in the strict literal sense...

    *coughDOUCHEBAGcough*

  • yeah geezer wrote the original lyrics

at the time ,he said he wasnt even sure what paranoid meant.

  • Can you post the lyrics, it's hard to understand, thank you

  • Yeah I'll put them up.

  • awsome, i have iron man rare recording, check it out!!

  • he talks a lot more about about his mind in this version. Now I understand why it's called paranoid XD

  • Nice clip!!

check out my sabbath covers. :)

  • ahhhhhh

dude, nice one. cheers. hadnt heard this yet, id looked for it though
