How sad, she was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. I first saw Eleven in Toronto in April of 1992 opening up for Pearl Jam on the Ten tour. They blew me away. R.I.P.
Until tonight, I never connected the talented musician, most familiar to me from "Euphoria Morning" with the actress who shared a tender scene with Roy Sheider in "2010". My condolence to her friends and fans.
Man, she didn't age physically eh? Surprised to hear she was around 52 I think. Anyway, I been a huge fan of theirs since 92. Under-rated band. Was glad to see Queens pick them up. Love all of them.
i first heard of eleven back in 95 or 96 and bought the first album on tape.i absolutely loved them as soon as i heard the first song and as soon as i heard the first song natasha sang on the album i loved her and her voice and now that beautiful voice is gone but not forgotten as long as i have the eleven albums i will always listen and i will miss her. R.I.P Natasha!
I found out only 2 days ago on a random entry to Eleven's website. When her name was not on the list of band members I thought she quit the band. Then I noticed her name down below with the word "deceased" in brackets. My heart sank and I was deeply saddened. I was introduced to "Eleven" by Gabby Rubin when I was about 18-19 in Holon, Israel. It soon became one of my favorite rock bands. Natasha's music will stay with me forever. Yehi Zikhrah Barukh, May her memory be blessed.
I will definitely miss her contributions to music that has inspired and blessed my life. I've been a fan of Alain and hers for years and will continue to enjoy the beauty she left behind.
The same happened to me. I just happened to get out my eleven CDs after not playing them for a while, and proceeded to look through my playlists for eleven videos and while I was watching one I scrolled down to see the comment RIP Natasha. My heart sank and I was just so stunned. I feverishly tried to find anything on what happened. It saddened me more to discover that it was hardly a blip on the internet. So, I made this channel and this video to let people know about them. :)
I thank you for making the channel in honor of her, as well as the beautiful video tributes. She is immortalized through her lyrics, compositions, and in the hearts of the loved ones in her life.
I know one day, everyone alive this minute, will be gone. It is inevitable that the loved ones in our lives will eventually depart, as well as ourselves. We know it, but to feel it when it happens is overwhelming.
To see such a beautiful, talented, and charismatic person die of cancer hurts.
Youtube removed the song for copyright infringement. I contacted Alain of Eleven and even got his approval to use that song, but Youtube it seems only gives you one chance to state your case, and even though I included that fact in my dispute it's like they didn't even question me about it and just said 'nope. your using a song that the record company owns and it will be removed' so I had to choose either a silent video, or pick another song. I think this song fits well. Thanks for watching :)
@RememberNatasha What a loss. I just was listening to some Queens in France live and she looked so powerful and dark. I had no idea of Eleven or who she was only that she commanded that stage.
She will live on through her music. how did she pass?
@modernlover0rosalyn I lost my mother to that monster cancer as well. I live on in hopes to see all who have perished, whom I've loved and respected in the afterlife.
@TheBigBlackAngel My mother had a scare a while back when they found a tumor but thankfully it was benign. Sorry to hear about your moms, may she r.i.p. I really hate cancer, awful disease...and hope to see them all again 2
@modernlover0rosalyn I lost my mother to the horrible mess cancer has become. I live on in hopes of seeing all of my loved ones and others I idolize in the afterlife. Thanks and peace....
@TheBigBlackAngel From what I read it was very quick after she was diagnosed with cancer to the time she passed away. Her voice is just so amazing to me. I try to spread the word about Eleven whenever I can. Great music goes overlooked so many times.
I met Natasha when I was 17 years old in Los Angeles, Ca. My fondest memory is when she and Alain took me to their house and played music all night. That was the moment I relized how moving music could be, what talent really was,and that their are good people in the music industry who are "unrecognized." She inspired me to follow my dreams. I am a filmaker now. She was supposed to do my first soundtrack slated for next year. I am very heartbroken in many ways. I looked up to Natasha all my life.
THank you for sharing your story :D I've always felt 'blessed' in a way to even know who they are. Especially being on the east coast. I see you don't post videos on youtube. I'd love to see some of your film work. Take care and many thanks!
For those of us who didn't have the luxury to have even met her (like I would have liked to have) do you have any moments that stand out in your mind that you would be willing to share?
I'm on the East Coast, so I couldn't go. I'm the one comment posted on the QOTSA website when they announced the benefit to ask them to consider having it streamed on the web, but no one replied and I've searched for anything about it on the web, and found nothing. I haven't checked Natasha's son's blog yet though. I just thought of that. graphicsoul[dot]com. I'm going to check there now.
Thanks. I still cannot believe that she passed away though. I've had her picture as my computer background ever since I found out actually. I'm planning more videos for this channel right now that are 'eleven-centric' but it's finding the time to make them. Hopefully this weekend. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you :D I heard of her passing was surprised to not see alot of videos. I think her voice is so amazing. So I created this channel and video to show that. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
You're welcome :D I'm collecting videos right now on this channel as favorites that are eleven-centric. I plan on making a cover of my own and posting it on my main channel. I love the song No Ground and way back when I first heard it I loved it so much, I recorded myself performing different versions of it. One version was ethereal, another version was a fast punk rock version with elec. guitar which I thought about posting because I like it but i'm not sure how eleven fans would take it. :)
Really?? Okay then :D This weekend I'll dig it out of my old 4 track recorder tapes, and see if I can make a video of it :D I'll be prepared for the constructive criticism of course. XD Thanks for the encouragement!
so sad, and it angers me, her husband has not only have to deal with the pain of her passing away, but to have to worry about her hospital bills??? it is simply horrendous!
i hope your project works out well, great design and moving vid! shared...
i was just thinking the same maya, enough pain in her passing but then having to settle the bills!? you're doing an amazing thing here RememberNatasha, best of luck
Luckily her and Alain has some amazing friends that are helping out with the benefit concert they are having aug 16 to help with the bills. I just found out today. I had no idea. I was listening to QOTSA's Lullabies to Paralyze as if she was still here.
The beauty is that she is immortalized through her music. Everytime someone is move to her music with goosebumps, she continues to live on.
RIP.
