  • "Hasn't been my day

    for a couple years

    whats a couple more?"

  • Real music

  • @muler321. Thanks for clarifying that. A generational gap and people become confused as hell!! We listened to "Hardcore-Emo" or just emo. Not this shit out there now.

  • Forgot how good this band was, I like that the vocalist isn't super-high-pitched like a lot of emo vocalists.

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 Try out Knapsack. You might like them.

  • God?

  • Real emo, man, the good shit.

  • The lead singer of this band comes into the store I work at alot, he's actually a really nice guy. It sucks cause I can never get into Jawbreaker!

  • @jdugmar well get into them god damn you!

  • who gives a damn what this is, if it sounds good it sounds good. don't put it in a box.

  • @MrDavisJordan what if i put it in a pigeonhole?

  • @is00ez i mean, that's fine. just not a box. boxes suck.

  • So fucking good.

  • Why the fuck does this have dislikes?

  • LOL I thought the lyrics where "I scratch my ass and dance into the wall"

  • @muiscnight rofl i was sad the whole time listening to this song then i see ur comment and i couldnt stop laughingggggg uaauhahuahhauhua

  • @muiscnight LMAO me too

  • @muiscnight

    Cannot be unheard.

  • this song is like a warm blanket over my soul. just sayin.

  • This song is fucking good, any help on which album I should listen to first?

  • @ynkrock7 You'll get a lot of different opinions on that. Mine is that Dear You is most accessible, and 24 Hour Revenge Therapy is their best.

  • @Joyeuse Not that the album sux, but 24 Hour Revenge in their poppiest album. If you love Jawbreaker's darker side "Which is what they are pretty much known for" than Bivouac is their best album.

  • @Ericisgoodenough Like I said, lots of different opinions.

  • This is powerful music. A rawness that is hard to capture.

  • Jawbreaker is, has and will be one of my all time favs!

  • 6 people make me sad. What is wrong with you??

  • anyone know any good bands similar to jawbreaker? not too melodic or hardcore either bands like all or big drill car.

  • come one everybody....this is a great song and is here for everyone to enjoy. so enjoy it and stop with the dumb arguing

  • are u kidding me are we talking emo and jawbreaker!!! J/K this is the start of emo punk and better than any that will ever come i was around to see the misfits play. im 43!!!! and this dinosaur jr. and samiam and jaw breaker were real emo punk.. the new stuff is just happy goth lol!! argument ends here lawl!!!!!

  • Is really strange... I can't believe how emocore could be audible, and more: so good.

Jawbreaker is a great band, anyway.

  • "it hasn't been my day...... for a couple years, what's a couple more?"

  • Did she have to breakup with me to this song? Butfuck it, this song kicks ass!

  • this is the crap that came out 25 years after the great old punk ...when punk was punk ...dont get confused this is gay

  • @MrBrianlowdown the fact that you used the word "gay" as a negative makes me think you aren't smart enough to have a valid opinion<3

  • @Roberodification You know that the fact that you cannot use someone's opinion simply because of their opinion on things makes me think that you are a hypocrite. You do not like people who diss gays... Who are you to say their opinion is invalid? You are just as closed minded as someone who uses gay as a negative remark. Hypocrite

  • @kargath101 I am actually not close minded. I have listened to every conservative stance on gay rights and homosexuality in general and the only reason people ever have is religion which I through overboard years ago. If anyone would be able to find a legitimate reason besides Jesus doesn't like it then maybe I would take them seriously.

  • @Roberodification The fact that you ignore someone's opinion based on thier views and beliefs is being closedminded and ignorant. Your knowledge on the subject is a different matter. Your comment is the EXACT EQUIVALENT to me saying, "You are gay so I disagree with you."

  • @kargath101 just because you have nothing against gay people, or even support gay people, does not mean you arent closedminded. Saying that gays are all out right and that people who hate gays are wrong is just as closedminded as someone who hates gays. You have to remember there are people on both sides of the argument and neither side is necassarily wrong. People have their beliefs.

  • @kargath101 Neither side is "necassirily" wrong? I'm afraid those that inhibit the rights of others based on something that is not a choice and furthermore in no way detrimental to anybody are most definitely wrong.

  • "I keep a room at the hospital." I will never tire of marvelling at how Blake can sum up emotions so succinctly.

  • A near miss or a close call?

  • I like The Saddest Landscape cover as much as i like this.

  • @redtyro Nice man, I love The Saddest Landscape. Funny to see someone make a comment about them.

  • Sounds like radiohead a bit ;d

  • Hope my neighbors like this song.

  • @xXObscureNightmareXx Haha, like they have a choice ;)

  • Fucking hardcore!!

  • This is the real shit

  • FUCK YA

  • This song wields the most intense bridge to any song EVER.

  • faborite song

  • DAT COMIC SANS

  • This song is fucking amazing, good classic emo right here

  • The part at 4:09 and onward is so fucking good, I could never get tired of it.

  • @sneegro For me that all starts at 3:43 - just beautiful.

  • Got here from senses fail somehow.

  • Jerry Finn-RIp

    such a great producer

  • Labels are for the unimaginative. I just call it it "good music"

  • i like jawbreaker bcuz there not so god damn drone and u can understand the fking singing and lyrics ect its just overall good

  • Emo is something that one of the dudes in Fugazi first said. Started with bands in the early eighties like Kerosene 454...basically just melodic punk rock. Of course, it doesnt really fucking matter.

    This song is amazing.

  • Grunge and Emo do not exist

  • @ShamzStarr wait... what?!

Have you heard Nirvana or Placebo, haha

  • @overboard64 Nirvana is my favorite band but I don't classify them as grunge that's what the media calls them

  • @ShamzStarr

    And I disagree!

  • @conradskill Congragulations.

but even Kurt Cobain wouldn't classify Nirvana as grunge

  • @ShamzStarr He was modest

  • It's 2010. Stop using the word emo.

  • Gawd...1995, seems like just yesterday I bought this and listened to it in my piece of shit car, daily for nearly a month. I saw 'em open for Mudhoney and Nirvana...they got to do it at the suggestion of Kurt and Courtney's nanny...lucky them!

  • I swear, everyone in these comments are all a bunch of faggots. Every song I see, "Hur durr real emo", follow by some pseudo "Derpa dur yeah my favorite line is... It's so deep" followed by "LOLOL IM 12 AND I LIEK REEL EMO LIEK DIS" followed by "You're a poser! Let me suck your cock because I'm a gigantic faggot".

It's a fucking band. Get over yourselves you macbook using niggertits.

  • @SeaShellNecklaceBrah lol I like the macbook part.

  • @SeaShellNecklaceBrah Calm down meow. :)

  • "I built this life and now it's mine." Literally the greatest lyric I have ever heard.

  • i just sat and listened to that, gradually having it blow my mind.

  • @nedsammy your mind has it's own penis, and this song was blowing your mind.

  • @aciddmc damn straight

  • EMO is not a genre even bands that know people call the emo dont call them selves emo, like TBS. there consider them selfs a rock band, or jawbreaker is punk rock. Think just a bunch of people that dont know what music is decided to make "emo" a genre, and people just followed along callin music that, every song has emotion from rap or rock, its not considered emo though

  • @JonathanGunther182 good point but there is actually a genre called emo but it's nothing like what people have made that word to be.

  • This song is amazing.

  • this song is incredible, I can't believe I've been without JB for all these years...this song probably decided brand news music style.

  • Sounds like the Pixies' Where Is My Mind at times. Other times, the guitar sounds remind me of Weezer. Good tune.

  • "I couldn't wait to breathe your breath. I cut in line, then I bled to death. I got to you and there was nothing left."

That pretty much sums up what happened with my last love. I blew it, waited awhile, tried again, but never felt the same about her again. I probably never will.

But hey, there are a bazillion hot girls out there, it's pathetic to get hung up one one. Gotta pick myself up and find someone better.

  • @franza94 bet you ten bucks that your koen

  • this song made me cry

  • i love this album so freakin much!!

  • I always listen to this song when I'm bummed.. Like right now.

  • all u people bitching about genres and classification are idiots. It doesnt require any attention whether you consider something emo, and it doesnt make any sense to argue . Your all fags.

  • @westdOrange

you could also say stop talking about something i have no knowledge of.

  • @westdOrange now all slow and sad song are emo??? damn..... poor smashing pumkins

  • @westdOrange you're***. Get to know the language.

    Dipshit.

  • @mistamontiel what?? dude you are a tree swinging, biscuit lipped homosexual, back peddling tip toeing, son of a transvestite disgraced migrant worker

  • @westdOrange Nice 8 month old comeback l0l.

  • @westdOrange EHY0WTFUXI'MCUBANB..

and I know the difference between "your" and "you're". Wise the fuck up son

  • @mistamontiel you're an immature douchebag, a petty nuisance who argues over semantics and grammar even tho you didnt even address the point of my original comment and are trying to support a non existing argument. Yes 8 months to reply becaus i dont use this channel i have another one you should subscribe

  • @westdOrange ooo sub sub dicks for sub channel channel mane this ain't no fucking TV.

    l0l0l0l

  • @mistamontiel yea do it bitch

  • @IncompetentInc Sit down cracker ho.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. I think i went through 3 or 4 cassettes when it came out. They were awesome live.

  • this song kicks so much ass cant believe ive never heard of em

  • This song is more heavy, to me, than any metal ever could be.

  • you know...

i just got into this whole "under ground" generation of music from the 90's and its thanks to people like jesse lacey and nick torres for showing it to me

and now i feel like jawbreaker, archers of loaf, neutral milk hotel, liz phair are all defining an era for me, but 10-20 years later...

  • @wicryeker: If you haven't already, be sure to check out Fugazi, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Mudhoney, and Heatmiser...great late 80's/90's bands

  • @diametricYouth I have at least one album by each of the forementioned bands

  • @diametricYouth Dinosaur Jr. is one of the greatest bands in exsistence. I got to see them last october!! :D

  • your a fuckin cock if you call this grunge, this is punk/emo. this was one of the pioneering bands of good emo.

  • "Emo" or emotional rock is considered to have been started around this era. Calling music emo is not an insult... Tons of the most famous emo bands have been at the top of charts forever... we know you all listen to them, it's time to come out of the emo closet and stop bashing something atleast 90% of us have enjoyed for years.

    This is a good song.

  • who disliked this song? If you don't like it then you shouldn't listen to it.

  • This song is fucking amazing, easily my favorite song from the second I heard it. t was one of those life changing moments.

  • regina spektor

  • this is pure grunge THE GRUNGE NOT DEAD¡¡¡

  • @crushroseeeeeee this is beyond grunge. this started a whole new genre.

  • @crushroseeeeeee

Uh. I love Grunge, but I think you're a bit mixed up there genre-wise bro.

  • @crushroseeeeeee

who the hell is this GRUNGE?

    XD

    you silly confused person!

  • @crushroseeeeeee Grunge never exsisted actually. that word is a fad that pearl jam started.

  • i was listening to last fm radio, and this band came up.......WHY am i just now hearing them. better late then never i guess :D great stuff.

  • Heard this probably TOO MANY times in high school.. lol

  • @ihave3pennies

    xaxaxa....same 4 me

  • xaxax.same 4 me

  • Here's what I don't understand: if you don't like this song, why comment on it? Why even click on this page? I don't go to Jonas Brothers songs on YouTube and talk shit about them because I don't like that sort of music, but I acknowledge that certain people do. Didn't you ever hear the cliche, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all."

  • @ultraslang you're an idiot, this is one of the best songs

  • Comment removed

  • yes, no need to classify. if you like it, you like it. if you don't, you don't. music is music. critics are opinionists. simple.

  • as much as these guys like to deffy the genre wich they should because its silly, this by 90s standerds is emotive hardcore. regardless jawbreaker kicks major ass and we should alll just listen to the musical awesomeness

  • who cares? XD

    ur all massive cocksuckers

    with ur youtube debates

    fuck off and die

  • J.B. was a punk band. emo did not exist. They never wore their sisters jeans or mascara. This album was a little more less hard edge than others. It was after they signed to geffen. Check out Jets to Brazil. They built their fanbase with DIY management and working hard. Dont compare them to the garbage labels shove down your throat today.

  • ahem emo did exist in the 80s...ahem...

  • Comment removed

  • no it was made in 95 it's their last album before the broke up

  • Comment removed

  • @rogerthatrocks Dude, you must understand that music changes. The "emo" of today is not what people are talking about when they refer to Jawbreaker as "emo"; the first time "emo" was used it was a shorter way to say "emotive-hardcore," that is hardcore that deals with deeper things than just mostly politics and violence, introspective hardcore, so-to-say. If you don't believe me, check out bands like Mohinder (ie. the songs Numb and Inhuman Nature) and Fugazi. Emo is not dressing strange.

  • @muler321 You are so right. Emo today is so piss poor. Bunch anorexic guys going around having gay anal sex orgies. When Jawbreaker was around, emo was a way to express emotions in a genre of music that didnt sound like fuckin Journey. Now emo is The Used... Brand New... Bullet for my Valentine... (btw I have to extend my most loudest laughs to those 3 mentioned bands) No emo band will ever compare to Jawbreaker.

  • @muler321 Someone who actually knows their music history. <3 People don't seem to realize that originally, emo was an offshoot of punk.

  • @muler321 THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • @muler321 dude you dont know how many times i argue with ppl over this same thing. glad someone finaly is right

  • @muler321 Love this band, Fugazi and rites of Spring too! But dont forget, Bad Brains had emotion in their songs. Does that make them "Emo"? ;)

  • This is a great tune, all of you dicks need to quit criticizing it, no one here who enjoys Jawbreaker cares what you think.

  • ummm this is absolutely emo - real emo. Anyone saying it's not has to have been born after 1990. The new stuff people call emo is a misnomer, emo are bands like this, Sunny Day Real Estate, and so forth

  • @mypetmeatball

Hey I was born after 1990, and i realize that this, SDRE, Rites of Spring, and all the others are "emo" or emotional hardcore. The youth aren't all stupid!

  • So this might not be emo,

but emo is influenced by stuff like this- did it way worse and thus sort of ruins this song for me.

  • Quit being such a downer. Nobody wants to hear you talk shit about this awesome song. That's fine if you don't like it, but don't try to ruin it for everybody else.

  • This is not emo dude. You gotta learn your music.

  • this is the best song ever and this is not emo this is great punk rock...the finest!!!

  • This is real emo aka Emotive Hardcore Punk.

  • @TrickDaddyFS

you be getting what I mean.

I'm not dissing this, it's the real shit.

Its just not for me personally.

  • Jawbreaker were never emo, they were part of the East Bay punk scene. It's great kids are discovering older bands but I think Blake would cringe if you called his band punk or even emo. Jawbreaker have a special place in my heart and songs like this remind me of the genius of this band.

  • fuck those modern day MTV Emo kids, they really do have it easy. I didnt even have a cell phone when I was 16! Like LOL.ughhh...

  • hayley williams? Paramore?

    Nahhh!

Jesse lacey from brand new covering this sent me here :)

  • all those people having a rant at emo kids. isnt this sort of emo in the older sense of the word? as in before my chemical romance. like original emo like sunny day real estate.

  • @geo24793 SDRE = Not emo

  • not like scene kid emo like mcr m8. loike emo in the original sense of the word

  • @geo24793 i understand this. i still don't think sunny day real estate sounds like the old emo stuff though. im not bashing them i fuckin love SDRE, but the're a bit different

  • I agree, SDRE is great, but I wouldn't classify them as early emo. American Football, The Appleseed Cast, Cap N Jazz is what I classify as real emo. TBH Elliott Smith and others like him should be of the same genre, his music has a lot of emotion in it.

  • @geo24793 lol Actually, it pretty much is, but they don't like to think that, cause when they think of emo they think of shit like MCR and the Used. And there is no convincing them.

  • underrated album

  • @notseymour agreed

  • all you people that think this is emo are wrong there were no little emo kids when this was around this new gay little fad that metrosexual guys are into needs to be cast down back to hell where it came from. do not try to put your lame label on great music

  • just great..

  • None better than this!

  • sad sad :(

  • my favorite jawbreaker song

  • One of the best Indie albums ever made. Dark, somber, evocative, great lyrics, and even uplifting at times.

  • ...you found out who jawbreaker was through paramore? wow, thats fucking lame.

  • who cares?

i don't even know who paramore is, but seriously,

    who cares. your lame.

  • Comment removed

  • I will never understand this??

What is lame about kids discovering good music?

Who gives a fuck how they found them?? The more people on this earth who listen to Jawbreaker, the better.

  • @9sam1 Cheers mate!

  • @9sam1 cheers to that!

  • @9sam1 I came across this song b y accident, on youtube; this is why i like youtube..the discovery of new music, that i myself like..

  • @9sam1 exactly how i feel. just because i didnt live in the eighties and nineties doesnt mean i have to listen to todays "emo" which is more just pop

  • why does everybody keep tlaking about paramore?

  • Comment removed
