i wanna come from hawaii and check it out...i always wanted to go to disneyland since i was a little girl...but my hearts desire has always been Jesus...i would skip disney to get the experience of how it would have been to walk with Jesus.
tbn is leading people straight to hell all in the name of prosperity and health. the holy land experience is selling the gospel. i thought the gospel is a free gift. you don't pay money to be saved. the tbn people will stand before and all wise god without and excuse. money is these peoples god. tbn worships money.they twist scripture for their lusts. they have traded the truth in for a lie
A religiously based theme park that's crass, tacky, and 50/50 making money off the faithful masses... This is a "problem", although nothing new, nothing to laugh at.
I DOUBT they make many converts. Most people laugh at the videos. VERY few unbelievers will go.
TBN is the 2000's archtype of the 'PTL Club' of the 1970's and 80's. Tacky Tasteless and Tailored for Titwillows. Xian Disneyworld on steroids. Amazes me they don't put Jesus and Mother Mary on pancakes for breakfast at the snack bar like Disney puts Mickey on their hotcakes sheesh! Only in Amerika.
why the dramatic music? There's nothing wrong with improving the Holyland park. It's purpose is to spread the gospel. I find it quite odd that you are offended.
I could not agree with you more JaxD! One can only think of how many poor & homeless people in the inner city or Eastern KY can be fed, or how many dope addicts could be helped with all the money that TBN takes in Monthly, and spends on garish tacky TV soundstages, six-digit preacher's salaries and Passion-Theme'd xian Disneyland parks like this. Welcome to PTL Club for 2009! Makes me want to throw up !
@jaxdemocrat as I read your comment, can't help to tell you ..you sound exactly like Judas.Do you help the poor? I went over there, and let me tell you something....all they emphasized is salvation. If you don't like it, it's ok. You have your opinion and I respect that, all the work and remodelingn is for you to travel in your mind and place yourself in that era, so you can live the experience. That's all.
I want to work @ Holy Land. I do believe TBN is in God's will. Loads of people all over the world are hearing the gospel and getting saved. It's great! And yeah, they ask for lots of money becuase *guess what*, it TAKES a lot of money to keep the place running. They do so much for people.
God allows a lot of things to happen within the broad spectrum of His will. My prayer for the TBN Experience is that visitors WILL hear the gospel and come to know the truth DESPITE the efforts of TBN to clutter and confuse it.
I'm someone who was in the position to see pre-TBN and post-TBN and make factual comparisons. There used to be "ministry" there, and now there is "mayhem." It breaks my heart. I was also in the position to know exactly how much money is needed to keep the place running.
Yes, there are costs, but they're not nearly as high as you suggest. That place can be run on a tight budget. It only seems like it costs a lot now because frugality and stewardship are foreign to the new TBN leadership.
I want to encourage you if you work there someday. Do your best, and do it for the Lord! Encourage your coworkers, seek truth, and seek God! Even though I see the leadership as evil, you can do this job to God's glory ... and change the world through your love and humility.
I hope that people are truly getting saved thru their efforts. Each time i've heard a Gospel message presented on their programs it has been a confusing message that would make a person who thinks they have to live an obedient life to be/stay saved think they are correct. We know works is not involved in the Gospel from over 180 passages that say "believe" on Jesus is the sole requirement, but TBN seems to "apparently" add works to their Gospel presentations (or at least that's how it sounds).
Also, how can anyone defend extravagant spending in light of how many missionaries can't seem to get enough funding to get on the field? What about starving folks around our world? Bibles needed in various languages?Yes, they raise funds for some of these efforts, but how much more could go to that if they sold their over-the-top jewelery and ornate decor (replacing it with simplicity)? If it takes that stuff to get viewers and donations then there's a serious problem with the viewers!
I work as a missionary with nomadic & street kids that live in gatherings in National Forests (Bonni knows this) & the majority of my work seems to be breaking thru walls of hatred twrd Christianity. When I dig to find what they hate about us it's usually that they think we're all like the Christian TV people- they say they're pushy, wealthy, greedy (always asking for more), power hungry & gaudy. They don't appear to be wrong. It'd be nice not to have to break thru walls be4 they get The Gospel!
I think this video is interesting because it shows the power of a soundtrack. Yes, I meant it to be negative in tone, and I accomplished that solely through choice of music! The comments show that viewers got the point ... and again, it was through music that I did this, not through words. Fascinating!

The comments show that viewers got the point ... and again, it was through music that I did this, not through words. Fascinating!
When I think of TBN I think of makeup, tacky jewelery, lack of authenticity and quite frankly, I think that much of what they broadcast is an embarrassement to who Jesus was/is and how He's called us to live- simply, humbly and with genuineness. I promise, I'm not here to place judgement (it is certainly God's job) but to simply state the way I believe many Christians feel. I have ALMOST always been embarrassed by their representation of our faith. I used to love Holy Land. Goodbye indeed :-(
I'm confused... I dont know what TBN is, but it seems that you have a video with epic dramatic music put against some pictures of some gardening, some office updating and clutter, and some rennovations including lighter paint, and some dumpsters...
Thank You Bonnie for showing all the improvements that TBN has done to the holyland experinece, as well as sifting the wheat. God has a purpose for TBN to be there, as well as those in whom He has appointed to be there for such a time as this, so thank you for showing all the good the TBN is doing for us who work there
improvement? i guess it is, if you call tbn-type decor an improvement? i see it as extremely tacky and a waste of God's money. also, you're quite sarcastic with Bonni- very sad. Finally, i would add that your "opinion" is that TBN is there as part of God's purpose, because that's debatable. I'm not so sure tbn cares as much about being in God's will as they seem to be about money, power and pride. Just an observation and "opinion." -peace-
So, what is the point of this video again? I see TBN has saved the Holy Land from it's $8MIL debt and is now UPGRADING the entire facility to be something of enjoyment and increasing it's value. Also, do you have photo release forms for the people picture in your slideshow?
To ALL the former employees of the HLE - get over yourselfs, get over TBN, get over the decorations, get over the Crouch's. Practice and prove your faith and sit back and TRUST YOUR LORD!
You're entitled to that opinion. As for this slideshow, the "point" as stated in the description is to show some recent changes ... that's all. Although you provided some commentary with your reply, the public will not be seeing it, as I prefer to keep things pleasant on this page. And as to the question about photo permissions, it's not for you to know; there are proper channels for that question, and this isn't one of them. Now ... have a nice day!
I'm not a former employee, but know some of them and I think you should be more respectful toward them. Many of the folks I know from there have amazing grace, humility and love for others, but sometimes it's the right thing to do to express righteous anger or expose things that don't seem God-honoring. "Sitting back" is not always showing "trust." Man, you really came across uncompassionate with the whole, "get over yourselves" thing. Everyone who disagrees w this vid here seems to be mean- hmm
Oh, goodness, Bonni....what's going on at that place? All I know is that it's not the place I left, and the majority of the people I knew are no longer there.
oh man this might be the kind of trip i
ll take my father for his birthday.

Was very bored coming here. We won free tickets. I couldn't imagine paying the $40. Would be a good traveling stage show. Not a park.

This reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Ned Flanders opened a "Christian Theme Park" to memorialize Maude.
