  • I think this role was made for Renee. She plays a psycho meany bucket so well lol.

  • This is absolutely breathe taking. I haven't been so moved by an operatic performance since Leontyne Price. Perfect and Moving.

  • BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAVO! THEIR VOICES MATCH SO SPLENDIDLY, WHAT A PERFORMANCE!

  • I wish Ms. Fleming would stop scooping.

  • I love the rich tone that Brownlee's voice has developed along with his excellent agility, so suited to Rossini. Fleming is her usual beautiful self and the two voices seem to compliment each other perfectly. Even their histrionics are complimentary and they appear absolutely comfortable together in performance. Bravi!

  • gorgious singing by Brownlee and Fleming! I don´t understand the set though! Looks actually like a school production

  • Simply beautiful - Brownlee is very musical - up up there at the same Level as Juan Diego Florez - What makes him good is that his voice is warm, powerful and has a very characteristic tone - only great singers have this trait - Bravo

  • My name's Armida! (:

  • Wow! Lawrence & Renée - what a fabulous duo! There is no other opera venue like the Met anywhere in the USA. What great fun to see these performances live at a theatre near your home now, eh?

  • I am so excited that I get to see Lawrence Brownlee in Seattle this coming Jan.! It will be the first live opera I've ever seen in my life. I hope there will be no ice or snow in the streets that day.

  • Brownlee is amazing! Gorgeous voice, fantastic technique! But I think you meant to say "Lawrence" in the title ;-)

  • I was waiting a Fleming a bit more destroyed and out of shape! Im impressed!!

  • his voice is so so so beautiful.

  • Will never understand why Fleming is praised so much for the timbre of her voice. It's ugly to me, particularly in this performance. Brownlee is sensational, though.

  • Gorgeous singing wasted in the a total piece of dreck of an opera. I saw the simulcast performance with friends, and we couldn't decide at intermission whether this was worth the second half. We debated and decided that the beautiful coloratura was , basically, a lot of frosting on a lousy cake.We left.

  • @TheMmesser Leave Youtube as well. Nobody will miss your lousy comments that do not even have a good frosting.

  • @viafilodrammatici Spero di aver travisato, il mio inglese è puramente scolastico, ma la critica di TheMmesser era al Bel Canto e all'opera di Rossini? Se fosse così, alla ghigliottina! P.S. Bellissimo il nick-name!

  • I might be wrong, but Renee sucks in this role... I know I might be bashed by Renee fans, but I'm entitle to my opinion.

  • @danteinf87 My comment was not solely based on this clip. As you probably know, there are many other clips of her singing her arias in this same production and her coloratura is barely on point. I know she probably got the role because she's a renowned international artist and the MET loves her, and she accepted it to probably keep her voice agile, but it's not a role that's suited for her current vocal stage. I mean, probably when she was younger, but not now. That is just my opinion.

  • @actionsrlouder Haha I thought she was the only good one live, next to to aTenor with a small role and tremendous warm but powerful voicce. I couldn't hear Brownlee but I definitly heard Rene, she did have a massive voice crack though.

  • Pretty good. Renee looks old. Brownlee looks better than ever, which is an improvement.
