That cave is huge. Up until its recent discovery no one ever knew it was there. Miners pumped the water (water on earth = possibility of life) this is a glimpse of our world's bowel. Look what gets spat up by the oceans when theres a storm. C'mon you gotto at least admit its an amazing find. Life has been found in molten rock and there is a micro organism capable of living on cyanide...

i just saw the documentary on this cave-it is just so beautiful and yes, very deadly! i have always loved crystal formations and when we would go to colorado up in cripple creek, which is almost 10,000ft., i would always hunt for crystal. i finally found a fairly large one with the jagged tops at one of the abandoned gold mines. It looked like some of these crystals, but these are just hugh!!!!! this cave is just unbelievable!!! thank you soso much for posting!!!!!!

How typical. People who have probably only ever been Mammoth or some other commercial cave know more than the geologists involved in this expedition. I have been a caver for more than 30 years and I can tell you every step could easily be your last. Only cavers and miners rescue cavers and miners. If you get into trouble rescue and surface extraction can take hours even days. Why don't you "brave souls" give it a shot?

That is incredible. 113 degrees and 100 % humidity means that the dew point is 113!! Those that live in the Humid East know how amazing this is.  Is is hotter than what a body feels in a hot tub. The heat index temp is 300 degrees!!!
