  • The city of Elblag was developed under Germanic order, but it is unfair that it was German city. In V-VI centuries when Slavs migrated to Central Europe (somewhere between river Elbe and Bug, where were Germanic Tribes?

They moved out. Same with Celts, they were pushed out by Germanic tribes. This land belong to people who live there and there is so much room for both Poles and Germans.

Most stupid thing would be fighting about.

    No one wins, everyone loose.

  • skąd wy macie ten film!!! 5/5

  • Aż serce sciska jak patrze na ten film ...

  • I'm sure that you know why Elbing is a part of polish territory now ... don't forget about it ... never :)

  • @halldor79

Only "now"? Not during centuries? You also attend that lasting from middle ages the membership to Poland is an only insignificant curiosity?

  • What culture was there in the 30's? What language? What government? Most importantly what people! Pozen and some areas had some mixing but cities like Elbing, Breslau, Konigsberg were German! Russian stole the Polish lands and cities and bribed them with German territory. Both were wrong!

  • Germans in Elbląg were at least from late Middle Ages. Thenceforward to enlightenment was a part Royal Prussia. Elbląg was found in the Kingdom of Prussia as result of the ruthless annexation.

  • The Territory has exchanged rule a few times, but it was held for around 300 years by the order, then around 200 years when the Polish 'ruthlessly' annexed it .. then back in the MODERN age it was in German hands and became fully a German city. Also might add that the town was ripped from Germany not at the hand of a Polish German conflict but stolen by the soviets simply to bribe the Post war polish leaders for their own stolen land.

  • Elbląg became stolen! In 1772. Long we waited for the recovery. Poland after the First World War behaved generously, not demanding the return of all stolen grounds by the Kingdom of Prussia. Recovered Wielkopolska and East Pomerania was about 20-25% smaller than stolen by Prussians.

  • @AZsaturn If you are looking for stolen land, you need to look east at Russia who initiated and was the main end user of the land. Poland was a bloated decaying government that couldn't even properly use, nor govern the size. My point is more on the Soviets for moving the natural borders of Germany and Poland. The polish rights and claims are with the land and cities of Ukraine SSR and such ... that's the land they deserver, just as the cities I mention belong and are deserved German.

  • @lonewulf44 Exactly. And without German commerce and development none of those cities would have existed at any level near where they were when STOLEN by murderous looting "allies". Danzig, Stettin, Breslau, Elbing, and so many others - all grew to be important because of German work - no matter who was there 500 years earlier.

The leaders of the allied land distribution need to be tried in absentia and sentenced to death.

  • @ArturAxmann I put more blame on the Soviets than the allies in general. The western allies were in a bad bargaining position to resist. The complacency is all the more annoying considering that the UK went to war over Poland, then ended the war by enslaving them to communist rule and accepting the other invader of Poland Sep 39. Punishment is one thing, but the transfer of those cultural and historic German lands and cities is a crime. Just as the theft of Polish lands and east.

  • @lonewulf44 In my opinion, the advice of Patton should have been followed and the red hordes removed from Europe. USA had nukes and could have destroyed the Soviet menace. It would kill 100000 of their own boys within another 25 years. Poor planning, as looting Germany was the order of the day.

The gigantic hypocrisy of Britain going to war in the name of Poland and then feeding her to the wolves is sick. But Britain wanted war far earlier and for more reasons. They pay for it now.

  • @lonewulf44 I very much agree that Poland lost as well, at the behest of allied criminals from both sides. The ideal of "liberation" was a lie for tens of millions of innocent people. Of course this is never mentioned in school history texts in any nation.

  • Małe sprostowanie co do daty: zazwyczaj mówi się, że to film jubileuszowy z 1937 roku, ale Niemcy twierdzą, że był pokazywany już pod koniec lat 20/na początku 30 i służył edukacji regionalnej.
