"Sand" usually has rounded or abraded edges, from erosion involved in it's wind or water transport. Volcanic "ash" can be very abrasive, with microscopically sharp edges and "vesicles" (small pits and voids).
@andreishka But theres a ton of it I didnt reciewe school today cause of it,it went all the way to Palencia which is like 1 hour away from where I live

Volcanic ash is very much like sand, yes. It's glassy. It's not like what we call "ash" meaning burnt wood and paper -- it's rock.

The ash will be similar to whats above the uk atm, its finer than nsand, but some parts are like huge clumps!
