  • Well done! Love the video, great tricks!!

  • Love the video! Thanks for posting it! I can understand why you'd rather not use treats very often, i believe that either a voice command or simple tap to que is the best way to go. Lol i use a rope to for the bow but mainly to control the head a bit, theres nothing really wrong with using them to honest and i really don't know why people fuss over them being used.

  • i love it when they bow and they take that time to realize they can sratch there face on there leg lol, i use a rope to help my horse bow, it keeps them from putting the foot back down, i have allsorts of people telling me its crule and unessicary in the video i posted of my boy laying down, but other people as yourself use it, i dont see it to be harsh, the horses dont look stressed its just a helping aid for a stubborn horse, just like using a training fork .

    this is vary impressive.

  • what methods did you follow to train him? x

  • lovely tricks!

i really want to teach my pony tricks. i started with bowing today, and want to do other stuff aswell, deffinately rearing, when im on her and from the the ground, but i dont really know how to do it. has anyone got any tips?

  • My pony wont rest his knee on the ground with a bow. He has some weird problem with picking up his front legs anyway.. But he'll pick up his back legs on command :S

Any tips?? Great tricks btw (:

  • Great Tricks. =)

But I Agree I Thnk The Rope In Bow Is Harsh.

I Have A Pony Who I have A Fantastic Bond With && After Just 1h Training (In 4 Sessions)

He Puts His Knee On The Ground Just Like That.....

That Bow Is Forcing Him To Do it. Not Cuz He Wants Too......

But Other Tricks Are Good :)

Im Uploading My Trick Video Soon...... As Soon As He Can Lie Down & Rear =)

    xx

  • Yeah i do, but im teaching him to bow without the rope, eventually they get the idea that they can balance better with there knee on the floor. And i only use a rope to lead him about :) as hes a little shit lol x

  • Sorry but the rope in bowing seems a bit harsh

  • Sorry you feel that way. Don't you use a rope to control your horse with a halter or even reins? It is very similar.

  • awesome horse. i have a really good bond w/ my horse but for some reason he will not put his knee on the floor. if u have any tips that would be awesome. thanks. i taught him the other way to bow but he goes to far down thinking its a game.lol and he goes further and further down so i have stopped doing this trick for a while. who knows maybe i will start again. thanks again.

  • hey check out: trickridingangel's channel she has some sweet vids of trick training her horses to bow and shake their heads and stuff lol.. she's REALLY good XD

  • hello ! my horse is trained in the bow now all do is tap her shoulder and she bows. i do not need a treat or rope . the only thing i ment by not pulling his head is he wil start to not like it when you ask him to bow . just a thought anyways good luck !

  • Hello ! nice video but one tip for the bowing . I recently started training my horse to do this and I find a rope doesnt work the greatest grab his foot and instead of forceing his head down show him a treat and when he fallows your hand down into the bow position then give it to him . it works well ! then you dont have to have all those ropes and stuff ! Im still trying to find a good command though !

  • Thanks for the tip. Actually, that was a bad bow for him. He was doing a lot better. I should have taken another video. I know about using the treat, but I didn't want to start out doing that. I use the verbal command "Bow" and tap his right shoulder.
