  • I dont know how I missed this one lol I love love this technique Rach, can't wait to try it

  • do you have to use alcohol ink or can you use regular ink?

  • @TheGeorgieEm This techniques requires alcohol ink, regular ink will not create the same effects unfortunately and if it is a dye / water based ink it will rub off a non porous surface.

  • Woah, that book is BEAUTIFUL!

  • Could you substitute the PVC glue with Modge Podge?

  • @alsmith7569 Yes, Mod Podge will work fine for this technique.

  • Where did you purchase the german scrap on your book if i may ask. it's beautiful.

  • @nickki64053 Hi, I'm sorry, I cannot remember where I purchases the German Scrap, it was in my stash for a while.

  • I subscribed too! You're a fabulous artist! I used to work at an an online scrapbook retailer and when alcohol inks came out I really never looked into how to use them, they seemed like ink pad in a bottle but now I see that it is so much more! Love what you made on this tutorial! I plan to watch all of your videos now, this being the first one! Again, great job!

  • I just wanted to say thank you for all the inspiration you gave me recently. It is always refreshing and infectionous (hi hi) to watch your videos. A big hug and a happy easter to you! xoxoxo

  • very interesting tech. easy to understand, you gave many ideas for things to add to the paper....

  • Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  • Also, just a comment on those looking for a substitute ink. Any other inks will also mix and make a "muddy" color. Alcohol inks do not do that. They are grogeous vibrant colors when mixed together. As you can see :)

  • i was skeptical but i tried this technique last night and was simply AMAZED at the end result...i found what you call fantasy film at hobby lobby for $3.99 a roll (which should last FOREVER)...and i added some micro beads to the finished product that gave it just a little more pop...thank you sooooooooooooo very much for this video...you have changed the future of all of my card projects and i am truly grateful to you and this video...will shimmer mists work with the alcohol paints?

  • @allymcmorris1 I'm not sure what Shimmer Mists are - are these the same as Glimmer mists? If so, they would not show up when used with alcohol inks.

  • Wow this is so beautiful, and I just finished getting those stamps, thanks for sharing your great work

  • ...you do more videos ;D

  • @RachO113 thanks for responding to my comment. i guess i'll just buy alcohol ink. thanks again and i hope

  • hi rachel. you did a really nice job and i love it <3 i suscribed too. i was just wondering if you can substitute alcohol ink with pigment ink. or do you have any idea on how to make your own alcohol ink? thanks a lot! God bless!

  • @HappyNaoMiMi Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately you cannot use pigment ink for this effect as it does not dry on non-porous surfaces and is opaque rather than a transparent colour.

  • where do you get fantasy film and the different fabrics? Would I have to go to a fabric store, or would they be sold in a scrapbooking section?

  • Wonderful technique! I love using alcohol inks, and I love how you used the PVA as a non-porous sealant for the inks while still making it work on a textured surface. I will definitely give this a try! Do you trade ATCs or just make them for fun?

  • Thanks for this video! great technique

  • this technique is really nice. i'm definitely going to try this on my first atc. just need to purchase some alcohol inks :)

  • hi ilove ur videos can u tell me any substitute of these inks

  • @hibafulful There isn't a substitute for this technique that will give the same effects. You need an alcohol based ink such as those made by Ranger - There are other brands such as Zig, but these are harder to find. Hugs, Rachel

  • Wow Rachel, this is a cool technique. I am going to try that. Very nice job! TFS

  • Very cool!!!!!! Beautiful colors... TFS! :)

  • Beautiful. Is the glue you used the same as our modge podge?

  • @sharoncaillier Mod Podge is a PVA based glue and so should work just fine. The cheap white craft glue found in most shops and often sold as childrens or school glue is usually PVA though

  • oh my Rachel what fantastic atc backgrounds your technique creates..your technique is genius now i will have to go an get some of those alchohol inks as i really want to create some of these..your atc's are beautiful and wow the book cover..unique creative and beautiful..thanks for making your videos they are fantastic.hugs to you Janet

I also found Metalic multi Sprinkles and some copper dust. All have some nice lloking texture that even painted over would bring something to the table. Just some more tools in the toolbox!
