  • I need that I've all ready broken my ax twice

  • Don't cut a windshield with your Jake Knife. Go back to the truck and get your Axe.

  • Gene Hackman? I haven't heard that for a while. Last person that commented on my looks said I looked like half the cab drivers in Cracow Poland. My dad got around back in the day and I could quite likely have some half siblings in Maui, Korea and Japan, but not Cracow.

Windshield saw? I changed the blade shape a little to better cut out windshields by hacking, but I haven't tried it yet. I will try it and do a video of it.

  • I didn't know Gene Hackman was a fire fighter!

Cool idea...put a serrated edge on the back side of that to be used as a windshield saw, and you've got yourself a tool!

  • Interesting concept I suppose, but if I'm going to be carrying around in my turn-outs, I need to know how much it weighs, and more importantly, how much does it cost? There are tons of so-called pocket tools on the market. New firefighters will go out and buy everything and add another 10lbs of unneccessary crap.

  • @chocbombero Hello Chocbombero, good handle. With this tool in your pocket you won't need but 8 more pounds of crap. The tool weighs 1 pound 12 ounces. It is supplied with a scabbard made of boot leather that weighs 10 ounces, for a total of 2 pounds 6 ounces. The scabbard will accmodate the Jake Knife plus another large tool, such as the Channel-Lock rescue pliers. The price is $150, by the pound, inexpensive as firefighter knives go.
