Ohhhhh, poor poor kids being exposed to this suicide anthem. This song must have been what started the rumours about british bands advocating suicide. Kim Wildes View from a Bridge comes to mind and Depressed Moods different songs. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
This guy, whom I ashamed to admit is Australian, is either loved by people, who 'bat' for the other team, or people who can't stand his fawning and twee adulation of everybody he meets. He was the guy most aussie boys, in the mid to late 70's, wanted to 'snot'. As for Kate she was the only reason I ever wanted to go to England.
Yes, the interview seemed more like a monologue at times. Even Kate Bush herself says "What can I say?" (2:50) Well, probably she didn't mean to say that she wasn't able to get a word in edgeways, but it's somewhat ironic anyway.
I've added this as a video response to a better quality version of the performance of "Hammer Horror". You can follow the link if you're not interested in the interview.
The strangest thing about this interview show is the background music playing all through the thing - a disco version of the theme from M*A*S*H. But the bizarre part is the title of the theme from M*A*S*H is "Suicide Is Painless".
I remember watching this at a 10-year old on my local TV station. I was already mezmorised by Kate Bush at the time and it took some years to really appreciate her talent. Again, thanks for uploading. Kate is a joy to watch, in performance and during an interview. Dignity, charm and talent: thy name is Kate Bush!
Great Find.. I do not mind at all that you had to cut out Leif Garrett'. Kate Bush and Leif Garrett' what a weird combo.Great performance especially since she was overtired..

What a tosspot interviewer...
This is why she hates interviews (look at her feet from 1:30 - classic 'KT doesn't want to be here' body language)
But the dance moves are even more 'full on' than with van Laast - much more erotic - god, she really moves doesn't she?
