i got a fake nokia n95 8gb but i new it straight away when turning it on the bad cheap sound plus the menu theme system is different from the home screen. so i got the phone at like half price they were shocked to learn it was a fake. Plus by just entering *#0000# the soft ware info is like different theme and colour.

i got a fake one, you can tell from the menum the way the camera works, and from the fact it keeps breaking physically (i must be a genius with these now) and my battery if the BL-5F..

the best way to spot the fake nokia is when u re turning on the mobile phone if it turns on fast that means its fake cause the fake one doesnt hav symbian system.Original one takes time to turn on cause it hav symbian system.I hope this information helped u.reply if u hav another good info how to spot fake nokia

you can see it is a fake when you look at the camera lens, it has fixed focus lens, not like the original, wich has autofocus, and the lens move a little bit when focusing at the original model (it has Tessar lens). it also has a different menu. If you haven`t own at least an nokia n73 before, you can easily gat tricked

they are supposed to work from what I've heard, mine started charging and blew itself out right away within 30 seconds. The reason people care is that it's a $750 phone with a lot of features built to high quality specs. the knockoff just looks similar, and doesn't have 5% of the features.

If you don't need the features you can get a high quality phone that just makes calls, and it wont break on you. Oh and they were selling the knock off at the same price as a real one.

I'm afraid now they have Nokia N95-4 8 GB Clones now... Just bought one for 515 USD from an Ebay Power Seller with score of 1200 and 95 percent positive.

I checked the buyer feedback and he had no accusations of selling fake phones. I suspect the ebay users gave him a feedback before they even tested the genuineness of the phone.

well these clones are hard to spot if you haven't used one before. If the phone you got was junk it might not be a nokia. they are pretty damn quality.

The seller we bought from didn't have anything like that on their feedback either. they took it back and refunded us so we didn't leave feedback. because you're sure to get the same back.

try getting some free software off of nokia's site for your phone. if the software works you might have a real one. if it doesn't then it's a sure fake.

I'm from the US and Nokia is a finish company. I've heard people pronounce their name two different ways, and I guess I never really thought about it. Maybe if I had ever been to Nokia Finland I would have known the correct pronunciation, or possibly if I had ever heard a spoken advertisement from the company.

I guess my question back to you is why do you care?

I bought it on ebay. After alerting the seller they did give a full refund (except for shipping back to them). They said they bought one from their source and it was real and then bought dozens more and they turned out to be fake. I'm pretty sure they knew they were fake and they've never even seen a real one.
