  • Wait.... Is that Mark Webber?

  • @DVDFerrari5 no webber was in f1 in 2008.

  • He was so lucky to not hit the spotter head on..it would be one of the most horrible crashes ever.

  • Those WSBR cars really resemble the Renault R27...

  • That dick-head who threw the last second block should be parked for a few races. There was nothing good that was coming out of that block.

  • @bugio22 strength of the cockpit tub is what really matters in single seaters, cars built up around carbon fibre core tub & appendages are not so important. some parts actually designed to disintegrate & absorb impact in crash whereas cockpit tub designed to hold. only really one problem remains with safety of open wheelers, the wheels themselves, if crash so violent they get loose they can kill drivers & spectators

  • Which Formula is this? That looked horrific! Was he ok?

  • @MovieMad007 World Series by Renault

  • It looked similar to Marco Campos crash.

  • I learn French in school... now for 2 years. And i understand NOTHING :D

  • this guy obviously had his red bull, it really does give you wings!

  • @MrWLangers This joke is so old and so fucking lame...

  • @Tomasch i agree

  • I honestly think they need to just perma ban blocking, somebody is going to die as a result and by then it'll be to late

  • heavy Flip!

  • he was lucky as hell to not hit head-on that Spotter.

  • The Red Bull car in front gave him wings

  • Just a scratch.

  • That was a nasty move to try and block him like that...

  • At least the tire returned to his place...

  • Could have happened with Schumacher and Barrichello at Hungary last year too.

  • i want to ask you something, what is rong with my mum being a homosexual?

  • It was clever of that rear wheel to rejoin the rest of the wreckage.

  • aie aie aie !!!

  • a few more feet and that could have been fatal

  • michael schumacher junior or something?

  • Ai weeeeiiiiiiiiiiiii =O

  • Wheel tethers worked, but the tires didnt stay attached. Oops!

  • considering that this was "only" a worldseries by renault race at maybe 270-280 kph the forces are that enormous, than you could realise and understand what the crash of Greg Moore meant with maybe 100 kph more.

  • 2 feet to the right and you would of had to sign in to watch this video!!

  • @davidbully sick joke but funny

  • had to hurt when the car finally turned over

  • naughty...he moved across on him. silly thing to do at those speeds

  • this happened years before mark webber.........

  • he did a mark webber.

  • insane crash goog to know hes ok

  • Mark Webber have had the same crash.

  • I think it was the nude woman in the crowds fault for flashing, they both got distracted.

  • wow, while flying he hit the pole with the front of the car..he was very lucky..a little more to the side and it could have been much worse..kinda like Jeff Krosnoffs crash..

  • that would've been sweet

  • Wow, is that guy Mark Webber´s son?? That´s a stupid move, if you want the inside line, go there earlier. This guy goes to the middle of the track, and then starts to move again when the guy behind is too near. He can only move once.

  • You know the future?

  • the asshole that blocked him into that maneveur should be banned. he caused that shit.

  • There is no argument for him to be banned. It wasn't malicious. A 'racing incident' as you would call it. I believe you are allowed to block someone trying to overtake you once, and then you have to move over to the racing line. He attempted his block and unfortunately Bonanomi was closer than he thought - not his fault. He has tiny mirrors and restricted head movement, on top of travelling at probably 150mph + with bumps and motion blur.

You should take his place and see if it was your fault!

  • c'mon man?! that straight is loooooong. his spotter MUST have told him he was being trailed closely. even after the trailing car pulls out and he makes an attempt to block the pass, he STILL keeps coming over until they make contact. don't make excuses for this guy. he knew he was going to get passed and he made the decsicion to make a stupid move.

  • You don't have a 'spotter'! There isn't someone reporting to you immediately the second someone tries to overtake you. Your race engineer will tell you statistics, and time gaps to cars, but that is it. The trailing car was in slipstream.. therefore probably travelling faster than the blocking car expected. He is allowed to block. It isn't a stupid move, he was just trying to stop him from getting alongside, as he is allowed to do. Maybe I'm wrong, but pretty sure everything there is legal.

  • OH! i didn't realize that they didn't have spotters over there. it seems they probably should. look man, i know racing dynamics, you don't have to explain them to me. i'm not trying to be rude, but i know. ALSO, i didn't realize that blocking was allowed or i wouldn't have said a word. if you allow blocking this is the kind of near death accident you'll get.

  • Spotters only exist on oval tracks where someone can you see you at all times.

  • @quasiphatpaul

thats not true. Spotters exist on road tracks too. At least in NASCAR there are spotters even on Watkins Glen, Sonoma, Road America and Montreal too.

  • Wow... Must be scary!!!! Thought that the last thing that he would see was a sky....

  • the other pilot is an idiot because Bonanomi crash becaus he was trying to block him

  • He hit the tower

  • i don't know what idiot gave you the thumbs down on that, he did hit the tower.

  • uah, that was close to the tower!!

    oO

  • kimster1987

    he hitted the tower

  • Yeah, i know.

But i was more talking about the monocoque hitting the tower, totally smashing the car. Remember the Fatal F3 Crash in Fuji 1997?

    :-)

  • erm....... no I dont remember that...

  • sisi, fijate ue parecen l9os F1 que corrieron del 2005 al 2008...

  • che, loco... esos coches se parecen mas a un F1 que un F1 mismo... no?

  • casi... jajaja

  • Bonanomi, not Bonanami =)

  • @F1fanTK

A bit late, but thanks! Better late than never!

  • That has to be the most pathetic, desperate move I've ever seen in racing. I can see a strategic, well thought out and well executed block during a tight turn where a fight for the apex is involved, but on a straight?? What an asshole!

  • What a terrible block, where are the officials when these things are done?

  • Yeah his license should have been suspended or he severely fined for such a deadly move. Glad he survived.

  • technically the man behind is responsible for the man in front, but true, it was a violent move, and I think the man needs a stern "talking to".

  • He doesn't did more than one direction change. I thinks this things can happen because all of them wanna win...

  • savage mongoose from the depth

  • yo estaba!!!!!!!! estava al final de recta y vi como el coche negro estava intentando adelantar, se toca i sale volando, la reaccion del publico... ya os la podeis imaginar.

lastima que en aquel momento no estava gravando.

  • Holy crap man that was close!

  • Bonanami nearly hit the race standing's pilar with his head, he could have died!

  • wow....that was really crazy !!!

  • he was a lucky boy

  • very lucky indeed. he could so easily have died.

  • the french should only stick to driving ride on lawn mowers

  • wow hope that guy that blocked was parked.

  • thats why that eurofagblock bullshit is retarded.

  • omg very scary

  • lol?

    Dios, brutal eh

  • jesus!!!!!!!!!11. is he ok?

  • that wheel axle just snap apart like in quick secs...

  • omg

  • I agree with Onkelnopo. If Bonanomi had crashed into the column in another angle and not only with the front wheel it could have been very serious. They should think about placing a catch fence there!

  • Impresionante :|

  • o_O

  • impresionant crash

  • I was right there, in front of where the accident happened, and believe me it all looked much more spectacular than in this video, that car really flew for meters, and even crached in mid-air with the column that holds the position and lap screen. It was incredible. But the driver was able to get out of the car by himself. Lucky that these cars have the security specifications of a Formula 1 of 2007

  • Almost looks like the Christian Fittipaldi crash at Monza years back.

  • Thanks for posting , this one is so close to a desaster !

Why they got no catching fence there ?

    Very horific .

  • Thanks for this video. Bonanomi is one of my "racing" friends; I've talked with marco this morning, he's fine (only have faints sometimes). The car is destroyed. Aleshin is apologize for this crash and seem that he was a gearbox failure before the contact.
