  • just to let everyone know, michelle is TINY and this horse is a big frisky STALLION!(yes i have seen him in person and he is a stallion.) her riding is very neat and tidy, her best eq. isnt in this video.

  • her legs go forward a lot but she s still a great rider

  • she was in practical horseman!!1 she has really great eq but her leg is forward a lot

  • not only does Michelle ride hunters and jumpers in textbook perfect style, even though her form doesnt matter, she is one of the sweetest people ive ever met! she looks perfect on every single horse she rides. i was just watching her jump Millie yesterday, and she looked fantastic! so, i wouldnt be talking, cuz she would kick your butt in hunters, jumpers, or eq.

  • how can you be mean to her? michelle is known for her beautiful form, even in jumpers. when i was watching the world cup, melanie smith said she rides all horses with beautiful form. meanwhile, ShowQueen, an ignorant beginner says she has a terrible back. so, who should i listen to, a show jumping hall of fame rider, or this ignorgant, uneducated beginner? not only is michelle a beautiful rider, she is one of the nicest people ive ever met, so i wouldnt be talking ShowQueen.

  • Michelle just got home from Florida yesterday. she is a beautiful rider who makes everything she does on a horse look effortless. however, it is not effortless, because she rides the younger horses with less experiance, not just the made ones. and if she is such a bad rider, why did she do so well on Millie in Vegas? keep it up Michelle, none of these jeleous low lifes will ever be as good as you.

  • This rider (if you know anything about equataito nand riding) is AMAZING! she is perfectly centered and balanched and has the postition that freely allows her horse to move beautiful and in good form! and for her first time riding thishorse, its very impressive to see her ride that well! I prefer that when someone rides for competition or a presentation, that they present themselves nicely with nice postition such as hers! so stop dissing her! and the horse ig gorgeous!

  • I absolutely agree. Glorious position. Some people are just, crazy jealous:D

  • okay, i ride at Emil's place, and i have seen Michelle ride all kinds of horses and ponies that she has never ridden before, and her form is flawless. she also never rode this horse before, AND he is a stallion! plus, if she is such a bad rider, why did she go to the world cup, get a sixth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and win the Maxine beard Award? You can critisise her after you show you have better form than her, and YOU win the Maxine Beard award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if she is such a bad rider, WHY IS SHE IN THE FREAKING WORLD CUP???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? that was the first time she rode that horse! she rides any horse beautifully. excellent job Michelle, and also, even though this isnt an equitation video, she still looks nice!

critizize her after you beat her in Grand Prix jump off.

  • i dont see why everyones freaking out about her riding abilities. she looks fine here. no one is perfect all the time. every single rider since the dawn of time has made mistakes. were human. so get over your little hissy fits about her riding

  • I think she looks beautiful.

  • okay, if you dont think Michelle is a great rider, then you are really messed up. she jumps really well. i exercise some of Emil's horses, they are very nice. i saw her jumpa brand new mare that was green that she had never ridden before over 4'6", and she was INCREDIBLE!!! ShowQueen202, she has been trained by her husband, okay, you are really stupid to think she is bad at riding. i would like to see YOU GUYS WHO DONT THINK SHE IS GOOD beat her in a Grand Prix jump off!

  • I just thought I'd tell everyone who even thinks about criticizing Michelle's equitation & riding style that this was the FIRST time she had ever ridden this horse - a stallion to boot. I know this 100% for a fact as I worked for them. He is a difficult, tough ride over fences & she does a phenomenal job. Believe me, I've ridden him.

And Michelle just got back from winning her first ever international competition, the Nation's Cup in Argentina. If that means she can't ride, then sign me up.

  • Plus, no this isnt an equitation vid but I've seen, esp. w/younger riders lately, many super-posey kids sitting like they have a stick up their rear & terrible, tight hands. They're usually on the most expensive push button horses & get a rude awakeing eventually. I think she's got a beautiful,workman-like soft release-a nice change, IMO.

BTW- I have to disagree w/him, lol, squares are fine by me, but Swedish O's make me cringe...Ugh.

  • I hate triple bar jumps the worst, followed by swedish oxers. Squares are easy for me! LOL. Maybe I need more pace and to be straighter:P

  • swedish oxers are so fun!

  • emil is such a good trainer. i had the opportunity to ride some of his horses and they were all amazingly trained and very scopey. he has a great eye for a good young horse and very good training methods! :)

  • ummm shes actually a REALLY good rider and wins everywhere on anything she rides ....this is just a bad video obviously. Her back isn't stiff, she has a really well arched back which helps her keep her horse's hind end underneath himself and makes him use his front end well...i bought my pony from Emil and her and i have watched her ride MANY TIMES

  • what pony did you buy? i rode a lot of their sale ponies, so i might know it!

  • oy...she has a horrible back...she seems to stiff and by her having a poor position she is effecting her seat which in turn effects her horses preformance :S

  • ok first of all she's rides very well! and second i like how you just complain about her position (when this movie is not about her position) but you don't even give advice about how to fix it!!

  • ok well i completly agree with resiliance...here is how to fix it...

she has been taught to have a tight back and so this is the result of BAD training...she needs a good few flat ONLY lessons so she can relax and kinda flop around on the lungeline and learn to have a flat back by tucking her butt under a little and wiggling around to loosen everything up will help her learn how to have a tight FLAT back.

  • you people are hilarious.... go home and practice your diagonals... Michelle (trained by her husband- EMIL SPADONE) does the grand prix- successfully.... good luck in the low hunter in your local circuit- i'm sure someone there will need some position advice!

  • Lol, @ a funny comment from "cake". I also like her position, & if she can hold that over fences, Bravo. As far as learning to "flop around and wiggle on the lungline" I had it ingrained in me & personally think it looks ugly, borderline obscene-lol-, when I see myself on film. I switched over to Dressage some years ago & now I do it even moreso. I wish my body were quieter. If she can 'equitate'; like that & still be effective I envy her.

  • haha i agree!

  • wow, you are stupid. she is an AMAZING rider, much better then you! that horse is HARD to ride! she can get on any horse and make it beautiful. she does the Grand Prix and the A/O hunters sucsessfully, so i would be talking ShowQueen because i bet a billion dollars she would beat ALL of you who dont think she is good in a grand prix jump off.

  • wow, you are actually giving michelle spadone position advice! you must be insane.

  • How is she affecting her horses performance? He's jumping INCREDIBLY. When you show at this height and can have your horse jumping in such style then you can talk.
