Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather. The late Bill Hicks R.I.P.
@CANVECVIDEO Of course I don't know anything for sure, but I think that there's much more to THIS than we get through our limited senses. If you ask the question, "why are we here", you can come up with answers that boggle the mind. What was before the universe that made it so?
@CraigTube Yes i agree, there is defenetly much more to reality than we get through our five senses, but to answer the question you sugested me (the one that everybody asks) why are we here? I would say the word "why" implies "reason" and there is probably no reason why we are here but certainly a "cause" what caused our existence rather than why, thoose are my thoughts, reason doesn't always = Cause.
"Soul" is the spark of divinity on loan from Source. Nothing is created or destroyed, But merely reconfigured. Each of us at some point in our lives shares a number of molecules that were on loan to our ascended spiritual masters during their incarnations. We can "CoCreate" And make miracles happen. I discovered nothing, I merely remembered. Namaste!
Also, you said that life came after the creation of the universe. Modern science suggest that life can come out of self-organising systems of molecules. Perhaps it would be as probable to say that the universe came out of life. That the physical rules three dimensional universe had spawned the pattern of life from the start. Perhaps the universe, (all dimensions included) is consciousness. If you can only prove something exists by being conscious of it, then nothingness is lack of consciousness
Hi Craig, there are some things that I find to be disturbing presumptions in this video. First, you say that only some animals are conscious, while others arent (such as plants) If it is impossible to prove our own consciousness, let alone someone else's, a definition of consciousness needs to be made (a problem even modern philosophers still face) The existance of the word in itself, however, begs a reconsideration. It could be that all things are conscious, even rocks, on some level.
@thalogic2012 There's no telling what that thing is really for, but I don't think we can produce enough energy on this planet to create a black hole that will be big enough to even suck in a dust mite.
@CraigTube well they use it to crash different atoms together in hopes of creating new ones. Is that not very dangerous and also be called creating atoms?
@thalogic2012 I don't think they are creating new atoms. They strip the electrons from atoms and accelerate the protons left to near the speed of light, where they then cause them to collide, creating a mini big bang. This way, they can study elements created by this and learn more about the universe's origin.
@CraigTube so would you consider this research a good thing or playing with fire? After watching the part in your videos about atoms just being here and we cant create them is when I became curious as to what you thought about lhc. So new elements not atoms are being created? I really enjoyed you video on these topics and have shared with others I know. Do you believe in predictive programing? LHC made a cameo in Angles and Demons, in the movie they create anti matter. The Big Bang and the expanding Universe are a scientific fact. That Multiple Universes exists is religion as this theory comes from a few eastern religions. As far as proving your reality; you are talking about our existence. That is easily proved. Since you didn't answer my questions; first scientific debate. The Catholic Church created the Study of Science and the first debate was on observably science by a monk and Priest. Science and religion are not enemies.
@vorbarra Ok, what started nuclear fusion? Gravity and extreme heat. The other questions you asked about the beginning of the universe have no definitive answers yet. That's why belief and intuition are all we have as tools right now to entertain ourselves with how it all works. There's no harm in wondering, and pondering about the unknown. It is that act that leads us to do research and learn. Speaking of learning, I will pursue a study on causality.
@CraigTube - Craig the point of those questions was that for every reaction there was an action before hand. Somewhere back in there was a beginning. For Christians like myself that was God being the original cause. For others it is something else. The commonality is that we all believe in something that we cannot prove which makes us all religious in some fashion. You are correct that wondering and pondering are good. Like the X-file music craig ..nice touch I had to learn that periodic table in college - just loved that lol I understand your point. In order for something to EXIST anywhere, - there must be a SPACE to let the NOTHING - become SOMETHING, and to provide a space for it , even though there is "nothing" to begin with. Just because we define it as Nothing, this doesn't mean there wasn't Something there to allow for what we know as our Universe to be created.... I need a beer now ! ;)
Nikola Tesla hade a theory about the mind escape, a “parallel universe” were all inventions are born, he tried to create a transmitter that could intercept signals in the mind escape. Tesla was stopped cause the device hade the possibility to read minds. But the theory was supported by the “fact” that similar or the same invention has bin invented by different people in different parts of the globe at roughly the same time.
I love the hard thinking questions you present in these videos. I'm very into this type of thinking and I consider it my religion so to speak. I think settling on the big questions in life is the worst thing you can do. Life is amazing and I think everyone should be spiritual instead of religious.
Top effort, Craig. You do your best to communicate deep concepts with layman's language.
Have you ever looked-up Michio Kaku's ideas? Especially regarding membranes ('branes' for short) and the concept of the 'multiverse'?
(BTW - I like the 'What the Bleep' movies too, They present some interesting ideas. But you really have to pick the good stuff from the bad, coz some it's... questionable.)
There is a flaw in stating that "there has to be a beginning to everything". Just as your short animation points out, we are only able to understand from our 3d perspective. Once we leave this place, we my be just as enlightened as that little disk was when she was pulled into 3d space. We may be going "wholy @#@%" there is no such thing as time! That was just an illusion because we were trapped in a 3d space.
@threeque I have trouble with there being no time. But then again, as you say, we are trapped in a way of thinking. But suppose you did say, "wholly $#@^ there's no time. How long would it take for you to say that? See what I mean? I think time is another dimention, one that we have only half control over. We can only travel in one direction in it. If we were pealed off our universe, wouldn't we then be able to travel in both directions in time? There'd be time, just not linear time.
@CraigTube Yes, we are trapped in our own perspective. We can not have an other perspective. We can imagine new perspectives, but unfortunately, that IS just our imagination. We can not even conceive of what it may be like without time. Just as that little disk could not conceive of there being a 3rd dimension. We can make the statement "perhaps time is an illusion" but we have zero concept of conceiving what it could be like. ...cont'd
Your first argument is to relate right back to a time based thought. You said, "But suppose you did say, "wholly $#@^ there's no time. How long would it take for you to say that?". Your statement makes perfect sense. To us. Not to the people who live in the 'no time' dimension. They would see us and our lack of ability to perceive 'no time' as we saw the 2d world people and their lack of ability to see non-2d space.
Man this like watching my fave disovery channel programme. You fit right in pal. This is REAL television..cable tv is dying...LONG LIVE 'THE TUBE!!Thanks friend for this thought provoking programme..
I don't believe there is a so-called 'soul'. I think it's atoms and molecules that just do things we can't even imagine. They make up everything we see, hear and feel. I cannot explain how, that's my view of consciousness. And that also explains my view of what happens when you die. I don't thing you have a soul, so when you die, your life, world and everything, is gone. There is nothing, which can exist, because everyone else still exists, to make the link with your view of all of this;D
Have you ever heard about The Unmoved Mover theory? I believe it was thought up by Aristotle. It talks about basically what you were talking about where something has to exist for something else to exist. For instance we created a chair from a tree. Before it was a tree it was a seed from another tree and it was a seed and so on. I believe this theory, but what drives me nuts is if you take this theory and keep going back into time you get to what started everything....but what started it?
@NewlyBoughtSpatula That turns out to be the ultimate question. Maybe there was never nothing at all? Maybe our universe is inside the atom which is inside another universe, and that all atoms contain universe's and that all universes are inside atoms that are part of other universes. The mind boggles.
the unconscious, the nothing is doing the conciousness..you are this universe, your something its doing..your IT..9.3..there is not first something and then nothing or nothing first then something..what is explicitly two can at the same time be implicity one.. nothing is just not nothing...
Or, more specifically, the cosmos. It may always be, in one time or another. The Big Bang view of life is flawed, but even it supports the Greek view, as they notice that the universe is collapsing. Perhaps we are nearing our end, which is, in truth, only our beginning.
You talk about existence having a start and an end. Can not existence be round? There doesn't have to be a beginning and end, so to speak. The Greeks, for instance, believed in processes. Everything repeated. Think of life like a circle.
You're example of water sounds familiar. Have you read R.G. Collingwood's "The Idea of Nature"? At one point, he examines time in relation to substance. For example, it is the rhythm of two hydrogen and one oxygen atom(s) that creates the molecule of water. If this rhythm (or time) could be slowed, we would only have hydrogen and oxygen. If it could be slowed farther, we would only have electricity, and if it could be frozen, if we could grasp a true instant, we would have nothing.
Purpose for us, that is. Now, we have the idea of evolution. Purpose is devoid, and randomness got us here. Development is evident, but ambiguity taints this view. This view is based off of history.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what your talking about, but since you're dabbing into philosophy, maybe it will help guide you in your pondering.
A brief history of philosophy: The Greeks believed that the cosmos itself was a living, rational, animal, all of us being part of it's soul, mind, and body. In this view, the mind permeates nature. Nature is rational because of its orderliness. After Christianity took hold, fueled my the Industrial revolution, we get a view of nature of being like a machine. In this view, there is a divine creator, but is separated from the creation. There may or may not be purpose.
I think it's possible that maybe even 'nothing' can't exist. Just think of it as no reality, it's not even somthing you could exist in yourself, it wouldn't even be black empty space.
Interesting video, which will bring some interesting responses ( and a few crazies as well!) I did see a doco once that suggested that the 4th dimension is one we actually live in, known as time. The issue is that we are stuck in one direction in this dimension, and that's going forward. If and when we unlock the secrets of time travel only then will we be able to explore this dimension. Bit different form the Spatial dimension theory..
@hoopztube Man, I totally thought about that the other day. We can move in both directions in the three dimensions, but only one way in the forth (time). It's like, if we master the next dimension, we have access to half of the next. See? Great minds think alike LOL.
@CraigTube LOL. You have probably read about some of the latest research into time travel. They are actually starting to get somewhere, but only on a particle level. If they ever to perfect time travel, and access to this dimension properly, the world will be a scary place. That's one power I really don't want people or governments to have. Interesting subject, can't wait for part two!
@PeiHomeBrewer Something like that. Could you imagine what would happen is the US government had time travel? Or if the Chinese had it? You can come up with some scary hypotheticals just using those two governments.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is the most pathetic video ever created!
You really need to read the Bible and you will find all the answers to the questions you are so desparately seeking. I know you are an atheist & you reject the word of God but for all those watching this video searching for answers, consider reading the Bible and listen to your heart. Man is incapable of explaining so much in this world. Accept the fact we are God's creation and only human beings posess souls.
@preferhomebrew This is not a religious debate. Please don't create a war on here. Your beliefs are yours and mine are mine. Feel free to make your own video and share your views. I am not an atheist, I'm just not part of a religion. There's a difference between religion and spirituality and you don't have to be religious to believe in a God. Cheers.
@CraigTube I agree. Try saying what you just said to a Buddhist or a Hindu. They don't believe in the bible. Religion is simply created by man for the reasons of control and to imply rules that are to live by. The new religion is science, and one of fact and fact finding. Time humans ditched these 2000 year old religions.
@hoopztube Don't forget the Jains. Their 'commandments' go something like this: 'Do not injure, abuse, oppress, enslave, insult, torment, or kill any creature or living thing'. Imagine how different our world would be if this could be found in the Bible. Instead, there is such rubbish as Leviticus 25:44
@PeiHomeBrewer Image how much better our world would be without any organised religion. If you like, believe in a higher power, and get rid of all the man made stuff that goes along with religion. People take their belief to seriously and it created division. Take the Christians for example, and people in the US, as they are the worse. They believe the bible contains facts, like creationism. Yet common sense shows that there is no possible way creationism could happen they way they say.
"You really need to read the Bible and you will find all the answers to the questions you are so desparately seeking."
Those "answers" are for people who are too lazy to think for themselves. Yeah, it is convenient that you have all those "answers" wrapped up in a nice little package with a pretty red bow, but while those "answers" might work for you, it doesn't work for rational thinking people.
@preferhomebrew As Craig said, be respectful of other peoples beliefs. You can talk about the word of god until you are blue in the face but it will not change people's opinions. Especially if all you are saying is "Read the bible, believe in god" blah blah blah.
shrooms brother shrooms... look them up right here on youtube and look at the research thats out there ... i think you will enjoy what you will find ...they have alot to do about the things you talk about in this video......and great video..and i love your beer video's too!!! look up christmas ale.. its a great beer brewed right here in cleveland i think you might enjoy it!!!!
Interesting points. I watched that whole series a while back and was pretty convinced by it at the time, until I realised there were gaps, and it had a rather bizarre agenda.
I know there are higher dimensions (see the youtube user 10thdim for hundreds of great videos on dimensions). What I don't understand is how you connect conciousness (being self aware) to a higher dimension. Also there are no "flatlanders" in this universe, so assuming there are "4dlanders" is pretty crazy :P
@boswell255 Maybe part 2 will answer your question, but the short answer is that our consciousness originates outside of the known universe, in a higher dimension. True, there are no flatlanders, but the concept helps us "three dimensioners" understand a forth dimension. Steven Hawking often drops back to two dimensions in order to explain complex three dimensional phenomenon.
@CraigTube Carl Sagan too! It's a neat concept and you're right it helps get ones head around crazy things we haven't evolved to grasp. But some of the things in that series (or was it a film...? I forget) are sometimes taken out of context and other times just plain wrong. Don't get me wrong I'm not dismissing anything spiritual out there, it's just Dr. Quantum is probably not the best guy to believe. I'm sorry I didn't notice this was "part 1" so I'll cut my chatter until I've watched #2 ;)
Nice vid craig....tsa must of told someone to give you a thumbs down on your vid while he is away on vacation lol.......no doubt its that fat sweaty turd nige.....anyways keep up the cool vids graig..... cheers man........p.s you always make those home brews look so good lol.

But the theory was supported by the “fact” that similar or the same invention has bin invented by different people in different parts of the globe at roughly the same time.

I think what you were saying is that in general, elements dont change.
Radioactive elements do change when they decay, example: U->Th->Ra->Rn->Po->Pb->Bi->Tl->Hg

In our dimension everything happens in series, in the next dimension, everything may happen in parallel.

That was just an illusion because we were trapped in a 3d space.
threeque 1 year ago
@threeque I have trouble with there being no time. But then again, as you say, we are trapped in a way of thinking. But suppose you did say, "wholly $#@^ there's no time. How long would it take for you to say that? See what I mean? I think time is another dimention, one that we have only half control over. We can only travel in one direction in it. If we were pealed off our universe, wouldn't we then be able to travel in both directions in time? There'd be time, just not linear time.
CraigTube 1 year ago
@CraigTube Yes, we are trapped in our own perspective. We can not have an other perspective. We can imagine new perspectives, but unfortunately, that IS just our imagination. We can not even conceive of what it may be like without time. Just as that little disk could not conceive of there being a 3rd dimension. We can make the statement "perhaps time is an illusion" but we have zero concept of conceiving what it could be like. ...cont'd
threeque 1 year ago
Your first argument is to relate right back to a time based thought. You said, "But suppose you did say, "wholly $#@^ there's no time. How long would it take for you to say that?". Your statement makes perfect sense. To us. Not to the people who live in the 'no time' dimension. They would see us and our lack of ability to perceive 'no time' as we saw the 2d world people and their lack of ability to see non-2d space.

NewlyBoughtSpatula 1 year ago
@NewlyBoughtSpatula That turns out to be the ultimate question. Maybe there was never nothing at all? Maybe our universe is inside the atom which is inside another universe, and that all atoms contain universe's and that all universes are inside atoms that are part of other universes. The mind boggles.
hoopztube 1 year ago
the unconscious, the nothing is doing the conciousness..you are this universe, your something its doing..your IT..9.3..there is not first something and then nothing or nothing first then something..what is explicitly two can at the same time be implicity one.. nothing is just not nothing...

Or, more specifically, the cosmos. It may always be, in one time or another. The Big Bang view of life is flawed, but even it supports the Greek view, as they notice that the universe is collapsing. Perhaps we are nearing our end, which is, in truth, only our beginning.
loftymuses 1 year ago
Therefore: Life has no beginning, because it always is.
loftymuses 1 year ago
You talk about existence having a start and an end. Can not existence be round? There doesn't have to be a beginning and end, so to speak. The Greeks, for instance, believed in processes. Everything repeated. Think of life like a circle.
loftymuses 1 year ago
So, the speed of time is very relevant in our existence. What if time could be sped up? Would this make different dimensions?
loftymuses 1 year ago
You're example of water sounds familiar. Have you read R.G. Collingwood's "The Idea of Nature"? At one point, he examines time in relation to substance. For example, it is the rhythm of two hydrogen and one oxygen atom(s) that creates the molecule of water. If this rhythm (or time) could be slowed, we would only have hydrogen and oxygen. If it could be slowed farther, we would only have electricity, and if it could be frozen, if we could grasp a true instant, we would have nothing.
loftymuses 1 year ago
Purpose for us, that is. Now, we have the idea of evolution. Purpose is devoid, and randomness got us here. Development is evident, but ambiguity taints this view. This view is based off of history.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what your talking about, but since you're dabbing into philosophy, maybe it will help guide you in your pondering.
loftymuses 1 year ago
A brief history of philosophy: The Greeks believed that the cosmos itself was a living, rational, animal, all of us being part of it's soul, mind, and body. In this view, the mind permeates nature. Nature is rational because of its orderliness. After Christianity took hold, fueled my the Industrial revolution, we get a view of nature of being like a machine. In this view, there is a divine creator, but is separated from the creation. There may or may not be purpose.
loftymuses 1 year ago
Hi Craig, I was wondering if you had any recommendation for further exploring these concepts like documentaries or books?
HumphreyBriggs 1 year ago
I think it's possible that maybe even 'nothing' can't exist. Just think of it as no reality, it's not even somthing you could exist in yourself, it wouldn't even be black empty space.

Interesting video, which will bring some interesting responses ( and a few crazies as well!) I did see a doco once that suggested that the 4th dimension is one we actually live in, known as time. The issue is that we are stuck in one direction in this dimension, and that's going forward. If and when we unlock the secrets of time travel only then will we be able to explore this dimension. Bit different form the Spatial dimension theory..
hoopztube 1 year ago
@hoopztube Man, I totally thought about that the other day. We can move in both directions in the three dimensions, but only one way in the forth (time). It's like, if we master the next dimension, we have access to half of the next. See? Great minds think alike LOL.
CraigTube 1 year ago
@CraigTube LOL. You have probably read about some of the latest research into time travel. They are actually starting to get somewhere, but only on a particle level. If they ever to perfect time travel, and access to this dimension properly, the world will be a scary place. That's one power I really don't want people or governments to have. Interesting subject, can't wait for part two!
hoopztube 1 year ago
@hoopztube Didn't H.G wells say something similar in The Time Machine? :)
PeiHomeBrewer 1 year ago
@PeiHomeBrewer Something like that. Could you imagine what would happen is the US government had time travel? Or if the Chinese had it? You can come up with some scary hypotheticals just using those two governments.

Cheers.
CraigTube 1 year ago 6
@CraigTube I agree. Try saying what you just said to a Buddhist or a Hindu. They don't believe in the bible. Religion is simply created by man for the reasons of control and to imply rules that are to live by. The new religion is science, and one of fact and fact finding. Time humans ditched these 2000 year old religions.
hoopztube 1 year ago
@hoopztube Don't forget the Jains. Their 'commandments' go something like this: 'Do not injure, abuse, oppress, enslave, insult, torment, or kill any creature or living thing'. Imagine how different our world would be if this could be found in the Bible. Instead, there is such rubbish as Leviticus 25:44
PeiHomeBrewer 1 year ago

Cool vid tho
boswell255 1 year ago
@boswell255 Maybe part 2 will answer your question, but the short answer is that our consciousness originates outside of the known universe, in a higher dimension. True, there are no flatlanders, but the concept helps us "three dimensioners" understand a forth dimension. Steven Hawking often drops back to two dimensions in order to explain complex three dimensional phenomenon.
CraigTube 1 year ago
@CraigTube Carl Sagan too! It's a neat concept and you're right it helps get ones head around crazy things we haven't evolved to grasp. But some of the things in that series (or was it a film...? I forget) are sometimes taken out of context and other times just plain wrong. Don't get me wrong I'm not dismissing anything spiritual out there, it's just Dr. Quantum is probably not the best guy to believe. I'm sorry I didn't notice this was "part 1" so I'll cut my chatter until I've watched #2 ;)
