  • Re-energize all rail traffic in America.

If a track is laid and can justifiably be re-furbished to introduce passenger service between ANY point A and point B I say JUST DO IT.

  • now what a loss they have covered it up now

  • Nice! How'd you access all this? I went down by the Blue & Blue Arena and found a wall at either end. I would love to know. What little I saw was great but only tempted me on. I know there are many glimpses of this throughout the city. In fact, there is supposedly an access in East Rochester as showed to me by natives there, though I never went down in it. My grandmother who is a native East Roch'r told me it used to run all the way down town! Amazing. How'd you get in? I was there only 10 yrs

  • this is why i hate rochester now. they get something good(the graffiti in the subways) and they want to make a scene over it. why would you fill it up. i would rather see graffiti in a dark tunnel than in a gallery. why should i pay to see art made by materials that were most likely stolen? stop sensationalizing this.

  • Lol Rochester sucks...

  • I wonder when they'll restore the Rochester Subway.

  • jump the fence by dinosaur bbq to see the graffiti in the completely abandoned parts. this video is okay but doesn't do it justice.

  • Documentary film coming soon! A little about the Grafitti in the Rock. I made it last year, so some people might know what I'm talking about, but no one has seen it yet.

Holla at me if u know me, it's time to do something with thing. FUA - - DEA - -

PEZ STOP CRUK PLURAL, (don't be mad at me bro!)

  • Thanks to the girl who thinks it's funny to keep on shinning the flashlight into the camera!! Would have been better if you left her down there!!!!!!

  • Rochester... What a doomed shithole that place is. Get out before it swallows you in misery.

  • I would like to know the info of these people so that I can contact them.

  • wow i didnt they even had a subway

  • I would bring my gun with me down there for sure YES i know N.Y. does not allow guns but thats against our consititution anyway so i would carry there anyway and get away with it in court.

  • @dunn98632 - huh? I dated bikers back in my younger days that always carried guns. Don't confuse Rochester w/NYC.

  • Y R U guys on Canal St. near Bags Unlimited and Salvation Army's super creepy store? then it looks like U're right adjacent to Nick Tahoe's. I never thought U could get to the subway thew there.

  • what the fuck is she sitting on the ground for?!?! theres thousands of used hypodermic needles all around that tunnel

  • i had no idea rochester had a subway system wtf

  • i didnt even know there was a subway

  • was excited to watch you should have brought floodlights thoa

  • hahahah me and my freand was think wtf was it but now i know thanks ! am going in next time !

  • I got to College at RIT (rochester institute of technology). that college is kinda ok AND rochester city SUCKS! I'm from california bay area. thats the BEST BEST BEST place to live for me.

  • @HondaRulzz4: Ok, lets see... Fuck You, and go back to California then.

  • @HondaRulzz4

I live all over California for 3 years. We can't wait to get rid of you shallow mall rat!

We don't like vain, materialistic people here. Even people in Pittsford have more of a soul than you California mainstream dorks.

  • @MayaMeows Yeah I lived in Yorba Linda, Cali. (Orange County) for 6 years. Born in Rochester and came back here after Cali. Californians are stuck up and snotty. New Yorkers are real.

  • ROCHESTER, NY - "If you dont like it, get the fuck out"

  • @candycanezane I did leave because of not liking it. I now have a job (which I couldn't find there), I'm off welfare (which I needed constantly there), and my children are catching up in school (Rochester's schools had them a year behind in learning). I also have money in my pocket and can pay for my own insurance and food instead of relying on Medicaid and food stamps. I will never even visit Rochester again. Yes, I had a few good times... but I emphasize the word few.

  • @ScottishLiberty hey man, you did the right thing. it wasnt for you, so you left. not a bad thingm or big deal. its not for everyone and it is what you make of it. personally, i love it and wouldnt change it. thats just me and like i said, you did the right thing it seems like.

you seem way better off and like your happy now, all i wanna say is congrats and best of luck.

  • @candycanezane - lol, I've tried a few times and always wind up back here. But that's ok. Last time I was out of state I missed it dearly ... I missed Wegman's and white hots, it's history and surrounding areas.

  • Im sorry but Rochester sucks man the school system is fucked you get bossed arond alll day and any one who thinks this place is great have you still seen Lyell and Dewey Ave? Fucking pisshole is the word. THis place is dead the only going for this town the abandoned subway system, downtown is a shell liberty pole is the only thing its a freaking bus terminal and the gangs sprout like crazy DONT MOVE HERE I REPEAT DONT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SoaringLotus I agree. I moved there from Texas and really gave it a try... was there for 10 years. The economy and schools are TERRIBLE. The job market is a joke, unless you're receiving help from some form of career services from either welfare (which I never needed before moving there) or a community college (most of MCC's credits don't transfer), you will have a horrible time finding a job.

  • I'm glad you all were safe. I know for a fact that many of Rochester's homeless find refuge in the old subway.

  • Where is this subway??? I live here, and have no idea nore have I ever heard of this! XD

  • incredible art on those walls. notice no matter how dark it gets the art on the walls is still everywhere.

  • Rochester sucks. sucks .sucks uscks uscks uscks uckssuks uscks sucks sucks uscks

  • Think Rochester sucks huh? You must not have traveled around much. The people of Rochester are fucking amazing and our cost of living and educational system rules.

I have been to 43 states all over Mexico, the UK and Canada and this one is still the best places I have been.

  • @MayaMeows trust me man i have traveled and lived in about 14 different places all over the world. NYC, the bay, LA , Seattle, Arizona, Texas, South Korea, Japan and Rochester, which is where I live now. People in Rochester are okey, even though it all depends on where you go. In general, however, Rochester seems like a mix of white trash and super stupid ghetto people. Plus the whether is bad and there is no where to hangout. Maybe downtown, even though you do have to take the risk of assaulted

  • @DATcoolCOT

Stupid Ghetto huh? Do you know anyone who lives in Marketview Heights? 19th Ward, North Clinton Ave, Clifford Neighborhoods? That is where I have lived and have worked since I was born. These people's biggest problem is people like you living in fear of them, judging them based on zip code, fear of investment, fear of walking in the neighborhoods. A VERY SMALL portion of the population commit violent crimes and most people will never be assaulted in their lifetimes.

  • @MayaMeows ....What part of Rochester do YOU live in, no offense? Rochester REALLY IS NOT the best place to be in, ESPECIALLY educational wise. We are failing pretty bad in our city schools especially, city schools. =/

  • @T3hFlyingpizzamuffin

Have you traveled extensively around the country and around the world? I have and felt the same way you did before I left. I am not the kind of mall loving, surburbanite home/family craving, cable TV drone who just wants to live a boring life safe little life and die. As far as interesting cities go, we are BY FAR better than most American cities as I have visited. Go live in Los Angeles or San Diego for year and tell me how great it is afterward! HA!

  • @MayaMeows Not extensively. Been to the islands more than once. I agree. But if you live in certain parts of rochester, you're not gonna see it as such a good place. Everywhere in the world has it's good and bad so that's not what i'm complaining about. I complain about what it is mostly, and it has a lot more negatives than positives when it comes to A LOT. I could go on but i do not need to. like i said, it all depends on where you group up in; your surroundings, people, and things you know :)

  • i live here it is an awesome town awesome people

  • @MayaMeows Are you fucking kidding me? I've lived here my entire life and the people of Rochester are nothing but petty assholes and the educational system sucks period. Our drop out rate is sky rocketing because the curriculum is shit. I don't know what areas of Rochester you've been to but maybe you should watch the news more often because atleast 3 times a week someone is fucking murdered for petty fucking garbage. Rochester is the fucking ces pool of upstate NY

  • @retrograderenegades Have you been to Oklahoma? The Rural South? Southern California? Those places ARE cesspools of shit. In fact you can't even say "shit" or "fuck" in polite conversation and people are complete ASSHOLES. I am not into bullshit mall infested suburbanite, cable TV lifestyles. I love my city and thank god fucking day that it is still one of the last REAL cities in the USA!

I am a teacher, and I got news for ya, NY has the BEST educational system in the country.

  • @MayaMeows Really? Go look up Rochester's graduation rate, they don't teach you anything you'll use 20 years down the road. Maybe if they implemented more humane education and encouraged children to make a difference in the world they'd change their lifestyles. Rochester is a city plagued by drug crime. job loss, and uneducated neanderthals running around killing eachother. Last time I checked we had the 3rd highest crime rate in the country.

  • @MayaMeows Tell me what's so great about Rochester is it our major companies out sourcing or the Mcdonalds on every street corner which are all that's left to sustain our economy. The cost of living is horrible, every block has a handful of houses for sale and only houses in the city are cheap because no one wants to live there because of the fucking crime.

  • @MayaMeows Here's the reality of Rochester, all the jobs are gone, retailers wont set up shop in the city because of the area and the people in that area so they set up on the outskirts of the city. Those jobs get taken by the middle class, so now the lower class living in the city resort to crime such as drug trafficking, theft and other petty bullshit because they cant fucking climb out of misery. THAT'S ROCHESTER

  • This has got to be the most boring video I haver ever seen! You should have shown the homeless people who live under there.

  • where is this former subway in Rochester? I live here and ashamed to say I don't even know

  • nevermind, i looked it up on the internet!

  • they went in the gay way......

  • I did the walk down there a couple times earlier this year. I was hoping to get back, but now it looks like I'll have to wait until the winter passes, or find a nice day when a few of us have free time.

  • wow,, that video coulda been cut in half to avoid the first annoying hour of people walking down a street

  • google rochester subway they was about to rebuilt the subway untill your governor denied it. rochester was once a great city now they are rebuilding clarissa st is a whole new era who ever have not been their in a while i just left their

  • Learn how to write English, and use punctuation - your post would be easier to read.

  • Our governor IS AN A#1 JERK! He makes stupidazz decisions. (He got the job just because Eliot Spitzer had to step down. Gov Paterson was not "voted in", as such.) [ Last year, he wanted to charge farmers for each cow they have because cows exude GAS, charging farmers less for milk cows than meat cows (because milk cows let out less gas!!] When he was first in office he talked about rights for African-Americans. I'm white and I can tell you he has not helped blacks, whites, hispanics..NO ONE

  • And that's coming from someone who can't even spell properly LOL:)

  • We have a subway? :o

  • Haha thats exactly what i was thinking

  • As a rottenchester native I want to say that this city is a ghost town left in the shadow of great potential smashed to bits by lobbyists. Kodak lobbied our local government decades ago, shutting our subways down and leaving space for their monsterous co., which is giving our community nothing but lay-offs now. Such a waste. It is depressing to live here. It is like a trap. Rochester NY is the great pretender. It pretends to have a lot to offer from the sky line that folks view upon arrival...:(

  • Sad, but true. Rochester was once a prosperous city, but it's now a skeleton of it's former potential. I've been wanting to move for awhile.

If they'd put money into expanding the subway, the city might not be in it's current financial slump.

Projects like the recent Fast Ferry were such a waste.

  • If they'd cut taxes and spending, it wouldn't be the waste it is today. I moved years ago. Cost of living far cheaper in SC.

  • I hate living in Rochester. In a year I'll be in NYC, finally.

  • i grew up in rochester im living here in nyc now been here for the last 9 years and i tell you the shoping is great but to live rochester ny is better living experience

  • I'm not moving for the shopping. I can't stand living somewhere that's not important.

  • hey, I love in Rochester and it's a great city like most cities in the US!. (I have to say, tho, things are expensive, but I suppose that's true all over.) And freakin COLD, BITTER WINTERS! That sux

  • my freinds kitchen is the troly car in geddes its amazing its still around the house is built around it the windows and ends are still there and floor some steel no wheels but realy solid wood though colectors keep offering him tons of money but he wont sell it he grew up in it since he was little i keep telling him sell it people want to see it...... there is no troly like this 1 in ny trust me its all wood and realy solid i love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • The structure itself is lame and boring, and nothing to see really but the

graffiti... I'm telling you, it's amazing.

If you don't appreciate graffiti art, don't bother going down there. If you do, it's truly mind blowing.

  • Fuck albany ...... ROCCITY BITCHES 585 ALL DAY

  • your so gay man

  • hell yeaahh

  • my grandma told me that rail way (troly car)was a big piece of history i know where one of the original rail cars of 3 is its down the street from me in lakeland the car went from rochester to auburn then to syracuse to the fair when it was on onondaga lake maybe even albany im not sure?!!!!!!!!!

  • 585 bitch

  • The ONLY cool part of down there is the graffiti art. ...and it is astounding. Life changing really.

Other than that, stop being super ass nerds and get the f out of there!

  • it sucks its not running but paterson says there wil be a high speed rail in a few years from canada through the whole ny state to nyc to jersey.......... well i dont think there will be 2012 its all over im telling you all over some how...........

  • i thought this was sealed up years ago dn ppl couldent get in well thts wat my friend told me

  • rochester isnt tht bad...ive always wanted 2 c in the subway! i my school is neer it (kinda)

  • i live in rochester and if i tried to go in that subway the cops would come and search me for weed and arrest me for being white.

  • Hey I'm from Rochester N.Y!!! My mom and I moved away from there a few years ago because it was too expensive to live at the time...

  • too expensive? what the fuck? its dirt cheap in the south wedge.

  • and u msut be poor

  • and people like you are the reason why murder exist....

  • why not fill it with a working mass transportation system..????

  • because more people are leaving the city everyday than coming to it, it's a shitty place

  • definitely the young people, they move to the south, lol

  • Only way I'm going in there is with a pistol. My friends have had too many run ins with crazy homeless guys

  • when i was young, some of my friends and i would sneak into the old war memorial (blue cross arena) from the subway to see rock concerts HAHAHA LOL

  • Ive lived in the ROC all my life, but have to admit, many parts of the city are straight out of Grand Theft Auto! I moved on up though, outta that part (which is only like 12 minutes away!)

  • lol, I get where your coming from, Rochester should have used their city as the center of attention, like how Atlanta uses their city and NYC uses their city.

  • Place looks like a graffiti artist's dream

  • one of the scenes from a martial arts film movie was Shot in there !

  • wut u know bout the roc city

  • i been there before.

  • wear a dust mask and take a camp lantern

  • lol I wana go there

  • I lived in Rochester almost all my life and never visited this place, this was a great video. I no longer live there but it was great to see it here.
