Do you have the the latest software updates? After updates, All the most popular games have profiles and my default is like a basic keyboard layout so it works well for everything else.
I have no prob with steam games. Not tried origin yet. the game needs to be properly installed.
Agree keys are a little mushy, but got use to it. The Joystick is analog and thus is not as effective when used as a digital input, just how it is unfortunately.
I found the g13 awesome with most current software.

@SuperGadgetGuy you know what? I finally decided to buy the G13 over the nostromo even when the nostromo is cheaper. I actually Bought the G13 last night.

can the joystick replace the WASD function in every game? bcuz I suck using the buttons lol

@lBugslBunny yes you can. but the joysticks is not a analog stick. You have to point directly up for the up function. so no W+S directional movement at all.
