Just so you all know, this guy's pronunciation is Zeus-awful; and yes, for X's sake, yes, "v"s are pronounced like "w"s. That's basic. This guy seems to be SELF-TAUGHT, which is fine, but he shouldn't pretend he knows "how they said it in Rome."
And whoever's reading the text in this video knows what it should sound like but his american accent makes it almost impossible to give it a Romainian accent since English is a Germanic language...
Anyhow, for the people who study latin and are looking for a correct pronounciation this video is verry deceiving, there should be much more difference between long and short vocals and the ictusses must be heard.
Ah, I see that you play rather loosely with the word "similarly." I wish I could be generous here, but your pronunciation is terrible. There's just no longer any excuse for this type of thing. Just do a Google search on Latin pronunciation. I'll bet you could even find a recording of the Aeneid by someone who knows what they are doing. This is a bid thumbs down.
I have not replied to any comments ,but yours, sir, was so condescending that I had to reply. I have listened to several very cerebral renditions of Vergil's dactylic hexameter. I have had more than 50 years of association with Latin, including four years attending lectures in Rome given entirely in that language. I hear the music in Vergil's 'voice', like 'This is the forest primeval'My rendition is morel visceral, Best to you .
The second a in arma should be shorter than the ar' part. Clear distinction between short syllables and long syllables is a must. Latinum should have longer i, just as in Italian 'latino'.
I might post a response to this video for comparison,as I have perfect metric skills and I know 99 % as opposed to 70 % off the phonology. :) I might sound bragging, but I might post something.

I'm sure wenbier doesn't mean any harm by it.

Each language has its own voice. You still have your American voice as you speak this. It falls hard on the ear.
