  • just out of total curiosity do they keep spare Red Arrows at Valley ?... i used to work at hawarden airport , where the hawks from valley come to do touch and go circuits ( think its called playing :-) ) and quite often saw red arrows colours !

  • Funny isn't it ... actually looking 'down' at a fast moving aircraft

  • rip red 4

  • RIP red arrow pilot 20/8/2011

  • They 're based about 5 miles from me at Scampton, truly amazing to watch!

  • how awsome great vid

  • Sorry guys it's just two trainers out of RAF Valley, they have Dark Blue ones too.

  • @cyco69mc1969 They aren't trainers. And the RAF don't have any dark blue Hawks, they are black. They Navy may have used to own dark blue hawks but now they too have black hawks :P

  • @cyco69mc1969 Er... Wha? Chap, that was two Red Arrows Hawks...

  • @cyco69mc1969 freeze at 0:10 so that's dark blue is it?? Also the Valley trainers aren't equipped with smoke cannisters

  • @phutch77

mate, just type in red arrows on youtube, they are the worlds best pilots, ex RAF who use the hawk tranier painted Red (hence the name red arrows), with modified smoke canisters built in, they do diplay to the public at airshows, the smoke is a cool feature they use to make the show look unique.

  • @17GAZZANIKON Active RAF not ex RAF

  • @JustAnOrdinarySimmer

ah yea, i worded it wrong, i meant to put ex frontline, as all the pilots came from either tornados or harriers and served in afgahn.

    thanks for the correction :)

  • @lonelykatana .Mate I can guarantee youve never seen an F16 or F18 let alone multiple times through the loop,If ya did id love to know when?

  • ah, nice one, lucky !, we went on the wednesday 2 weeks ago, waited for 7 hours and saw bugger all !

  • Best display team in the world!

  • WOW!!! BRILLIANT!! I wish I got that lucky when in the moutains!! Great video, *****!! XD

  • I've never really heard anything about the Red Arrows but, are they flying Tornadoes?

  • No, BAe Hawk T1's

  • Fake??? I don't think so... I took it, and it most definately happened.. What a strange thing to say.

  • Just had a look at your profile... As I thought.... You seem to have a strange liking for female dogs aswell... Very worrying...

  • its the red arrows smartass a very real team why the hell would anyone go through the trouble to make a fake video of this if they did it would be abit more extreme dont you think

  • Thank you for the sensible reply... Unlike Crispdoggblahblah....

  • I don't believe Crispdogg1990 is 19 or 20 years old.

  • yeah sorry for the harshness i was kinda having a hell day if you know what i mean on any other day i would have been alittle nicer lol but still fake??? he must have been high or some thing

  • Silly boy.....

  • dumbass......think about it stupid boy

  • Thinking is something you clearly struggle with, you prick.

  • lol, im sorry but im going to have to steal that phrase >:D

  • Fake? what did he film this in the matrix then? lol

  • im sorry i just had to comment..what dus he mean fake? like u digitally added the red arrows? what a DICK

  • That is funny!!!

  • hows that fake go down to the mach loop yourself and watch it

  • they put smoke on for us ("us" being 3 people at the side of the hangar -> taxiway taxiway at Scampton, no-one else around) while they were taxying in, and I know pilots know spotters are up on the hill above the pass there, so I wouldn't doubt they put the smoke on just for you :)

  • wales is the best place to spot jets because they pratice through the hills. ive seen tornados harriers hawks hercules.

  • the smoke is a spray squirted into the path of the exhaust gas from a nozzle at the bottom of the jet at the back, its there for show as its a display jet...its not the engine breaking dont worry. It is true that hawks can go quicker than they do at displays, displays are all about precision no speed,i imagine it would be a lot harder to keep formation at full speed than at the speeds they stick too. The hawk is a subsonic aircraft though only being able to reach just over 600MPH

  • whats that smoke

  • Thats sick. Where is this?

  • Don't know what you mean by sick??? This was avery rare pass by the RA's in mid-Wales (well, 2 of them!)

  • "sick" is another word for awesome, amazing. thanks for answering my question

  • They actually pay the blokes to fly those planes. Lincolnshire based in the summer, then they all fuck off to Cyprus for the winter and with the potential for more crumpet than you can shake a stick at . It's a hard life! (I'm only jealous) ;)

  • is it true, dont hold me on it

but red arrows can go a lot faster then what they do at air displays?

They seemed pretty quick through the vally

  • im pretty sure i would wreck my car if i was driving on that road. id be too busy going SWEEEEET!

  • Like the "smoke on".

  • i must go to macc loop if it stops raining .on i hope to be at southport air show

  • they're still v good aircraft to train on, standard operating speed of 420knts which is the same as other fighters, and pretty manoeuvrable, they can pull a fair amount of g

  • and what they gonna upgrade them to? Wouldn't be the Red Arrows if they wern't flying Hawks either. Cant think of a better aircraft to train in.

  • You have a point, how about 9 red Typhoons...that would be something else, at least we would have the speed of the F18 Blue Angels ;))))

  • At long last some one out there with vision i was thinking along the lines of 9 GR4 tarnadoes making one almighty sonic boom how brilliant would that be. no offance to the hawlks they are cool aswell but you cant stop progress. the RAF has upgraded there fighters now i think its time for the reds.

  • Na they need to stick wiv the hawks, the Reds have become one of the most respected display teams because of the complex display they put on, cost would see them disappear from almost every airshow in the UK if they tried to use Tonkas or Tiffies n there display would become something like the Blue Angels...dont get me wrong I love the Angels display but the Reds are about coloured smoke, intricut n subtle manoeuvres n crowd pleasing displays, not close passes n loud noises

  • Tornadoes would be horrifically expensive as well.

  • Nice little bit of work. See the Reds were showing off again with Z smoke on job !.

  • Smoke on as well brilliant.

  • where exactly is this? i wanna go!

  • It's about 5 miles east of the town of Dolgellau. It's called The Bwlch.

  • They dont always fly

  • I take it you weren't just on that hillside by coincidence!

  • Very Cool!
