@Brynjulvify Yes, very bluesy sounds, put on the overdrive-channel tweet setting, and ad just a little bit of gain, alot of bass and middle is the key, i had problems with it to, because it needs a bit more bass then most other amps. What i like about this thing: Put the amp up side down, with the speaker on the ground, on a layer of pillows or something, crank it up and you have a very noce brittish amp sound! I can get great sound out of these thing, its great on stage plenty of volume
Hi, I got this amp too.. but I notice it's a bit hissy/noisy when using the output for headphone. I plan to exchange with CUBE RX since I'll only use it for home practice. Do you think it's a right move?
@itsGoboboy call me a total noob at these things, but where can i get one of those? and for how much? does it have to be a specific brand? or are foot switches universal?
@bullshitproof Nothing specific, if the amp has like a 1/4 inch jack where the footswitch goes you can get a universal footswitch. For this amp boss has a A/B footswitch.
@mahmoudguitarist There are really two types of amps, tube or solid state. Either one can be a combo, that just meant that it comes with speakers rather than it being a head in which you must plug it into a cabinet. One is not better than the other, its just a difference of opinion. Tube amps get a nice warm sound good for those classic tones, but they require some maintenance and they are expensive. Solid state amps produce sound without using tubes and they are more modern and less expensive.
I played this amp today and I loved the sound but I really only play thru pedals... If anyone has used the BOSS metalcore ML-2... Which sounds better the pedal or the rectifier channel on here?
Hi - do you think the cube 30x is good for playing jazz guitar ? - I want something that will produce warm sustained tones. Sounds pretty good for a solid state amp.
@SH4RK136 Well, there are some cheap little ones like the valve junior form epiphone. And Blackheart has some nice cheap ones, but there are some nice sounding solid state ones out there. The Randall RG series is a great one, they have a 150 watt all solid state head. The Roland cube serise is one of the best solid state amps I have every played, great for the money.
if you want to hear what this amp sounds like just on a normal metal sound i use it in all my vids have a look.... i also play the background music through my amp as well but the only thing is there's no earphone input just a mp3 output but still it's a really good amp if you need the volume down just use the power squeezer it quietens down.... i do use it while i play with my band and have no problem with the volume it's really good
@Jay94544 I have the smaller Roland Cube, and I use it more often then anything else. Just because It is positionable. Never tried the line 6, but I have heard some bad things about them, while I haven't heard a single bad word about Roland cubes.
Try em both. See what you like. Or whatever strikes you as better, for whatever reason, and don't look back ;)
I think this is one of the best's amp for a begginer I record my original songs with it, it's really good, it's my first but you can you get for a small price what you could get for huge amp and it has everything you need to rock out !!XD if I were you I sure would buy it.
O yeah its awsome for it the R-fier is the best for them metal is also good but i like the R-FIER the best because with METAL all you hear is bass so yeah
I play stuff like Metallica and RATM. Is it good for that. Also, on the guitar you know the like tone knobs and volume thing, what should I put that at to get a good metallica tone? Thanks!
i was about 6 feet away and i had it cranked with a bass amp beside me, but i dont need my guitar to overpower the drums or anything cause im in a jazz band and the guitar for most songs is just a background thing.
I'm split between buying a Roland Cube, or a Spider Line 6. I heard the cube is incredibly solid, and that's a good thing since I'm probably gonna move it around a bit to jam with various friends. But I also heard that the Line 6 has more effects and is more fun to play around with, yet I don't know how solid it is. Do you have any thought or knowlege around this? :)
That is exaclty the problem i have with mine! I can't play my Angels and Airwaves/ U2 stuff so i got a Boss DD-3, other than that this amp is great! Black Panel is orgasmic!
@DopeSick408- I agree on that too!!! Yea, Black panel is very bright and trebley, (Very nice!!!) I'm getting a BOSS DD-20 for christmas and my Godparents might be getting me a VOX AC-15 or a VOX AC-30!!!! I have a really good rare & non-expensive amp called a "JE21" It a 20Watt Solid State amp with very tube like sounding overdrive. It is surprisingly good and quiet. It has a built -in noise surpressor that dosn't affect your tone!!! It is great for U2/The Police/Coldplay music!!! Matt.
it's easy, click the tuner button, if you look closey at the acoustic, black panel, etc, there are letters next to them, EADGBE...turn it to whichever string your tuning then if too high it will light up the "lead"...too low and it will light up the "clean"...right on tune is in green in the middle, its very easy, and a great amp
i heard that amp's with bulit in effects arent as good as foot pedals is that true? and is it better to buy a distortion pedal or use the overdrive on this amp??
It depends if you want to gig or not, I personally think the built in effects on this amp are incredible, but if your going to be gigging with it you will definiitely want effects pedals.
the EFFECTS on this amp are purty good, but not much control. I think at LOW settings of the EFFECT (chorus, flange, phase, tremelo) are a little too WET at LOWEST SETTING. Roland, fix that please
i have this amp and i love it, especially i figured out that if u put it on the r-fier setting, the gain all the way up, the bass at 0, the mids half way up and the treble all the way up you can get a tone pretty close to that of Randy Rhoads, its freakin sweet
I got the same amp. It's great! Could anyone tell me whether the bases of the amp models in the information are right and where I can get more information about the amp models? Would be nice! Sry for bad English... I'm German

It gets louder then most solid state amps of this size. But ya, band practice and recording are the top things that it is used for. I suppose small gigs and talent shows. Its a lot more portable than lets say a breakable tube amp or a large cab.
anyone know how to make some kinda bluesy sound with the roland cube amps? I simply cant do it.

Hey, how can I record with this amp? Do I just go straight from record out into my pc?
MVlog9 2 years ago
You could, most pros would most likely use a mixer

How loud does the 30x go? is it loud enough for band practice and/or small gigs?

It gets louder then most solid state amps of this size. But ya, band practice and recording are the top things that it is used for. I suppose small gigs and talent shows. Its a lot more portable than lets say a breakable tube amp or a large cab.
