  • anyone know how to make some kinda bluesy sound with the roland cube amps? I simply cant do it.

  • @Brynjulvify Yes, very bluesy sounds, put on the overdrive-channel tweet setting, and ad just a little bit of gain, alot of bass and middle is the key, i had problems with it to, because it needs a bit more bass then most other amps. What i like about this thing: Put the amp up side down, with the speaker on the ground, on a layer of pillows or something, crank it up and you have a very noce brittish amp sound! I can get great sound out of these thing, its great on stage plenty of volume

  • Sorry for my recent post, wrong comment. I thought this was a bass amp cube 30.

  • Hi, I got this amp too.. but I notice it's a bit hissy/noisy when using the output for headphone. I plan to exchange with CUBE RX since I'll only use it for home practice. Do you think it's a right move?

  • what exactly is the function of recording out?

  • @joeyfan13 Connect strait to a mixer / headphones...

  • @itsGoboboy does this amp come with footswtich? please answer!! thank you.

  • @bullshitproof Nope, youll have to buy one. A simple A/B footswitch will do.

  • @bullshitproof Nope, youll have to buy one. A simple A/B footswitch will do.

  • @itsGoboboy call me a total noob at these things, but where can i get one of those? and for how much? does it have to be a specific brand? or are foot switches universal?

  • @bullshitproof Nothing specific, if the amp has like a 1/4 inch jack where the footswitch goes you can get a universal footswitch. For this amp boss has a A/B footswitch.

  • @itsGoboboy so in other words i just go to the store, pickup this amp and ask for an a/b foot switch an i should be all set?

  • @bullshitproof That should do it.

  • could you please tell me which one better Combo or solid state ?

  • @mahmoudguitarist There are really two types of amps, tube or solid state. Either one can be a combo, that just meant that it comes with speakers rather than it being a head in which you must plug it into a cabinet. One is not better than the other, its just a difference of opinion. Tube amps get a nice warm sound good for those classic tones, but they require some maintenance and they are expensive. Solid state amps produce sound without using tubes and they are more modern and less expensive.

  • @itsGoboboy

thanks a lot man ! your info help's me. thanks.

  • You're very out of tune. Does it have a tuner?

  • @stratthead Yes it has. It has both conventional and chromatic tuners.

  • @stratthead There are more tunings than EADGBe :L

  • Nice little amp for good personnal practice in a room.

  • Nice,I have this amp,it's godly.

  • I played this amp today and I loved the sound but I really only play thru pedals... If anyone has used the BOSS metalcore ML-2... Which sounds better the pedal or the rectifier channel on here?

  • @BeastlyTreeMan101 You should try the Roland Jazz chorus, it takes pedals very well.

  • @BeastlyTreeMan101 I have the boss ml2 and this and actully the ml 2 sounds very simular to the r fier setting on this amp

  • what kind of guitar did you use?

  • @kostismv Fender strat with a humbucker.

  • Hi - do you think the cube 30x is good for playing jazz guitar ? - I want something that will produce warm sustained tones. Sounds pretty good for a solid state amp.

  • hello,

do you know how i can use my pedal (boss me-70) on my cube 30X?

    greets

  • can i play bass with it?

  • @Imak3 Nope.

  • @itsGoboboy what footswitch is supposed to be used with this amp

  • @bikerdude2202 You can use any footswitch with a 1/4 inch jack.

  • Can i use a Marshall Footswitch on this amp ?

  • @fanfuntwo You should be able to.

  • @fanfuntwo You can also use the Boss FS-6 Footswitch with a Y cable

  • Whats the cheapest tube amp I could find? lol...

  • @SH4RK136 Well, there are some cheap little ones like the valve junior form epiphone. And Blackheart has some nice cheap ones, but there are some nice sounding solid state ones out there. The Randall RG series is a great one, they have a 150 watt all solid state head. The Roland cube serise is one of the best solid state amps I have every played, great for the money.

  • @SH4RK136 a Kustom Defender 5H, I've been GASsing for one for a bit. They don't carry them in many stores though, so you gotta buy them online.

This amp seems pretty cool though, esp at its price.

  • STOP EATING OR WHATEVER YOUR DOING WITH YOUR MOUTH.

  • FENDERRRRRRR

  • this or a peavey vypyr?

  • dude can i use a wah pedal for this amp?

  • I just bought one and it's a very good amp :) I like it's sustain!

  • use a digitech bad monkey and get the best acdc sound !!!

  • Does the Guitar really affect the sound coming out ? like.. if i have Harley Benton MS-11BK its not really a good guitar. does it still sound good ?

  • if you want to hear what this amp sounds like just on a normal metal sound i use it in all my vids have a look.... i also play the background music through my amp as well but the only thing is there's no earphone input just a mp3 output but still it's a really good amp if you need the volume down just use the power squeezer it quietens down.... i do use it while i play with my band and have no problem with the volume it's really good

  • Is there a headphone output?

I'm looking for one that can fit a pair of headphones you would normally use on a MP3 player...

  • @LegoGlitch it does

  • Can this amp go loud enough so it can cover drums?

  • i'm getting one of these bad boys next month for £160 =P

  • "this is going to be the loudest" i got a peavey bandit 112, witch is louder than the roland cube80x this is going to be the loudes

  • im planning to get this amp should i get this or line 6 anyone??

  • @Jay94544 I have the smaller Roland Cube, and I use it more often then anything else. Just because It is positionable. Never tried the line 6, but I have heard some bad things about them, while I haven't heard a single bad word about Roland cubes.

Try em both. See what you like. Or whatever strikes you as better, for whatever reason, and don't look back ;)

  • @TheLoneAdvocator thaanks maan im thinking of getting it soon! thank you

  • @Jay94544 roland is better

  • @Jay94544

line 6 is horrible compared to the cube. belive me

  • I think this is one of the best's amp for a begginer I record my original songs with it, it's really good, it's my first but you can you get for a small price what you could get for huge amp and it has everything you need to rock out !!XD if I were you I sure would buy it.

  • is this loud enough to play with acoustic drums or should I get a 60x?

  • Put it on R- Fier and fire up for full gain and you will get a really good disortion especially for metallica and other metal an rock n roll stuff !

  • Can i play Thrash an maybe Death metal with this amp?anyone please?

  • @ThisCreepingLife yes, just put it on r-fier and mess with the equalizer

  • @ThisCreepingLife yes only you have to find the appropiate setting

  • i love chorus

  • is this a good bathroom amp?

    ANYONE?

  • nop, the smaller version of this the 15x is the best bathroom amp :)

  • @mrmakaveli864 do you play in ur bathroom?

  • how good is this for metal like metallica, trivium, iron maiden, etc

  • O yeah its awsome for it the R-fier is the best for them metal is also good but i like the R-FIER the best because with METAL all you hear is bass so yeah

  • its perfect for metallica stuff, sounds great on r-fier.

  • @metallickh not metallica.

  • @HellsHighwayTrooper It works great for Metallica. Not sure why you think it doesn't work.

  • @Leviskardsen i just assumed. what do i know?

  • technically it's perfect practice amp for every style

  • perfect dude, perfect, i play alot f metallica dream theater etc and its a great sound

  • I play stuff like Metallica and RATM. Is it good for that. Also, on the guitar you know the like tone knobs and volume thing, what should I put that at to get a good metallica tone? Thanks!

  • is it loud enough for a band practice with acustik drumkit?

  • i imagine it would be, i can use my fender frontman 15 watt with an acoustic drum set behind me, the 30 watt should be plenty.

  • actually i think that would be hard since i tried it and i didn't even hear my guitar probably yer' sayin' because your really close to yer' amp

  • i was about 6 feet away and i had it cranked with a bass amp beside me, but i dont need my guitar to overpower the drums or anything cause im in a jazz band and the guitar for most songs is just a background thing.

  • yes

  • get the 60 much better an it can really beat drums

  • yeahh or 80?

  • yep but the 60 isn't as good as tone but includes more stuff i prefer tone just reverb or phaser

  • I'm split between buying a Roland Cube, or a Spider Line 6. I heard the cube is incredibly solid, and that's a good thing since I'm probably gonna move it around a bit to jam with various friends. But I also heard that the Line 6 has more effects and is more fun to play around with, yet I don't know how solid it is. Do you have any thought or knowlege around this? :)

  • spyder effects sound like shit unless you get the 75 watt or higher

  • dude i have this amp, can I use anykind of footswitch's or do I need a roland footswitch cause I can't find It

  • you just need a a guitar lead to plug into the jack, a boss footswitch would be fine

  • @SlashMoore is this a good amp for a beginer

  • Just got this amp today, HOLY SHIT!!!

  • mate your thumb is unholy! is bends the wong way! D:

  • I got this today from my father as christmas present ^^ This is GREAT compared to Stagg S-300. Roland Cube 30x is the best amp i've had x)

  • @Ikovify same here love this amp, my favourite setting is r fier

  • this is a sick amp. the wattage may be low but its a very powerful amp. its sick how u can record and have more than 1 effect and distoriton

  • have it dont like it

  • In all respect, I have this amp, the distortions and chourus are good, but,the delay isn't that good!!!! Matt.

  • That is exaclty the problem i have with mine! I can't play my Angels and Airwaves/ U2 stuff so i got a Boss DD-3, other than that this amp is great! Black Panel is orgasmic!

  • @DopeSick408- I agree on that too!!! Yea, Black panel is very bright and trebley, (Very nice!!!) I'm getting a BOSS DD-20 for christmas and my Godparents might be getting me a VOX AC-15 or a VOX AC-30!!!! I have a really good rare & non-expensive amp called a "JE21" It a 20Watt Solid State amp with very tube like sounding overdrive. It is surprisingly good and quiet. It has a built -in noise surpressor that dosn't affect your tone!!! It is great for U2/The Police/Coldplay music!!! Matt.

  • do they sell footswicth to toggle between the fx

  • what is that horrible buzzing??? do you use single coils? or is that the AMP?? :O

  • No im using a strat. thats what it is

  • @pacrat90 Its enough to have a neon lamp turned on in the room.

  • i got this amp it acually has good tone and sounds just amazing with my ibanez 350dx and my rp250

  • can u attach a mic and guitair together wid the amp???

  • What guitar were you using in this review?

  • how do you connect another amp to the this amp to make it have more watts

  • You cont do that

  • oh ok thanks but could i put a mik up to it to make it louder ?

  • Yes you could mic it right up to the speaker or you could use the record out and plug it right into the mixer.

  • thanks for the info on this i needed to find out how to do this so i could make it louder for my band . thanks agian!

  • tell me how the Tuner works pleaze, the AMP Tuner

  • it's easy, click the tuner button, if you look closey at the acoustic, black panel, etc, there are letters next to them, EADGBE...turn it to whichever string your tuning then if too high it will light up the "lead"...too low and it will light up the "clean"...right on tune is in green in the middle, its very easy, and a great amp

  • i heard that amp's with bulit in effects arent as good as foot pedals is that true? and is it better to buy a distortion pedal or use the overdrive on this amp??

  • It depends if you want to gig or not, I personally think the built in effects on this amp are incredible, but if your going to be gigging with it you will definiitely want effects pedals.

  • the EFFECTS on this amp are purty good, but not much control. I think at LOW settings of the EFFECT (chorus, flange, phase, tremelo) are a little too WET at LOWEST SETTING. Roland, fix that please

  • The distortion on this amp ismore than ennough. can get a real good heavy sound

  • You would need an ABY switch or modify the amp. Or use any pedal w/2 outputs. Cheers

  • Very bad idea.

  • Comment removed

  • how can you put the volume on the clean so high? i can hardly put it past a 9 oclock without my ears bursting...

  • do you recomend this for heavy music

like saosin, blink 182 , senses fail, avenged sevenfold

  • If you are just starting out then the R-fier is perfect, but if you are a bit down the line, id recomend getting a marshall then some hardcore pedals

  • R-Fier = rectifier for those confused by this idiot

  • If you didn't know that, you're the idiot, not him.

  • i have this amp and i love it, especially i figured out that if u put it on the r-fier setting, the gain all the way up, the bass at 0, the mids half way up and the treble all the way up you can get a tone pretty close to that of Randy Rhoads, its freakin sweet

  • hey, do you understand how to use the tuners Ab and Abb setting? what is it for?

  • Its for downtuning or tuning low strings

  • okay thnx

  • It's for tuning down a half-step or full step i.e tone or semi-tone

  • i figured, ill try tomorrow im busy atm

  • I got the same amp. It's great! Could anyone tell me whether the bases of the amp models in the information are right and where I can get more information about the amp models? Would be nice! Sry for bad English... I'm German

  • I got the amp information right out of the manual so it should all be right.

  • just got that amp 2 days ago , its awesome for me , cuz ive been playin for like 3 month now so i think its very good for me lol

  • how loud is this compared to the micro cube?

  • Yes i know i'll be better with a new one but the price is so low i cant resist paying less than half...

  • im getting micro cube 15x im more on a budget and more into the distortions i tested it out i cant wait till i buy it :)

  • But I cant afford a new one.. thats the problem.

  • I'd wait until you can afford a new one, be patient bud, it'll be worth it. If it takes over 2-3 months to get the money together, I'd go for a 2nd hand. Its up to you bud, all Im saying is that you're better off with a new one

  • yes i will try it out

  • Get a new one I'd say. Warranty and all that. If that 2nd hand breaks down after some months, you'll be feeling pretty bad.

  • should i buy one in 2nd hand for like 120$?

  • can you play it first to make sure it works? or is it on ebay or something?

  • marshall mg30dfx or roland cube 30?

  • Roland Cube 30x, Marshall MG series is HORRIBLE

  • except the microstack but it isnt better than this

  • the MG microstack is the same as the combo amp, it still sucks.

  • how do you now that btw the microstack rocks.

but i want more then just 1 thing

  • Because it's the same thing! The microstack of a Marshall MG is the same thing as the combo amp version, but in a different shape! It has the exact same tone as the combo amp.

But the bottom line of my statement was: Marshall MG's SUCK. If you want good tone, get any other Marshall.

And don't say, "you didnt played it, you don now how much its rox!!!11!1!!!11" because I have played it, and it made me feel like killing myself.

  • i didnt played it either i just wanted a marshall tone.

I really like it through the bad video quality

  • Trust me, Marshall's are all good EXCEPT the MG series. If you don't believe me, register on ultimate-guitar. com and ask them in the forums, there are tons of experts there.

  • Do you know any other series what are low budget and good marshalls

  • All other Marshalls are expensive, but a good ministack is the Blackstar HT-5 ministack, check it out on the Guitar Center website.

  • UG FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol UG FTW!

how did you know, because i said MG's suck?

  • yea xD

  • How do you record with that amp? It has a recording output.

  • You will find another lead cable and plug into a mixer.

  • What's the difference betwen the Roland Cube 30, and the Roland Cune 30X.

    Thanks.

  • the Cube 30x has more effects than the Cube 30.

  • so does it work pretty good with wah pedal and fuzz ?

  • if you find a good dealit can cost 200 in euro's i'm thinking of buying one coming month so i checked : P

  • is the gain as good as the line six spider 3 30w?

  • costs 250 check the description

  • Are the 2 channels programmable? like you can save your your favourite sounds onto them etc etc

  • Not really, both channels share the same eq.

  • Hey, how can I record with this amp? Do I just go straight from record out into my pc?

  • You could, most pros would most likely use a mixer

  • How loud does the 30x go? is it loud enough for band practice and/or small gigs?

  • It gets louder then most solid state amps of this size. But ya, band practice and recording are the top things that it is used for. I suppose small gigs and talent shows. Its a lot more portable than lets say a breakable tube amp or a large cab.

  • two words. Night. Train.

  • I've got four words for ya...apples and oranges, Dumbass.

  • thats five.

  • it are four words -.- but who cares!

  • dude

When we buy it the footswitch come with him?

  • What i love about this amp is the effects, the compressor, and the power at that price ^^
