Janet, thank you for this most beautiful tribute to all men and women that serve our country. You are truly an "Angel on Earth". When my dad passed away in my arms last October there was no way that his funeral would be held without this song being played. The US Army was there for my dad with full WWII military honors. While this song was playing, I peeked through my tear-filled eyes and there was not a dry eye to be found. Every day I play this song as It gives me peace that my dad is OK.
Hands down, this is the most beautiful song to honor a soldier who has left us and gone to Heaven. I love this song. Several years back, I had a guest at my home (Boston) and her name is Pat Blassie. Pat's brother Michael WAS the ONLY unknown soldier at Arlington National Cemetery to represent Vietnam. Michael finally went home to Missouri after several decades. Janet went all the way to his hometown to sing this amazing song. Since Pat gave me the music, I have purchased many of these CD's.
the night before my passed you could see the longing in her eyes to go home..she told the chaplain she was ready...Praise God I know the angels sang as she got there...miss you mom
that would be the "Living" Queen of Gospel Music Naomi Sego she married into the The segos but unfortunatly all the sego brothers have passed on Home but she is still "passin the faith along"
I first heard this song on TBN one day a young man had died in a car accident. It beautiful than and it is still beautiful now. What a song for all God's soldiers coming home. Janet God has blessed you with such a lovely voice. Bless You. and Thanks for posting this lovely song.
Well, Mom Munyon, you are now home and free from pain! While we will miss you for now, we will see you soon! The band was indeed playing when you came Home and best of all, the Saviour Himself , the One you served so faithfully was there to meet you personally. Thanks for the memories, we can't wait until resurrection day!
I just sang this song for a memorial service at my church and had the whole church crying because of the impact and I used my sister who is dancer and she came up w/ choreography for the song and it was simply amazing.
thank you for posting this video my grandpa "Papaw" passed away on January 10th 2009 and went home to be with the lord and when they were wondering what to play at his funeral I spoke up and told them that they had to play this song. That was my Papaw and it was a great tribute at his funeral. God Bless
This is a beautiful song that was played at my father-in-laws funeral. The song fit him so well. He was an awesome man that loved God and his country.
This retired old Marine's eyes are getting blurry and my nose is running. I guess it must be the pollens in the air or something. I think I'll have to request this song when it's MY turn to report Home for duty!
what great joy there is in heaven when a soldier arrives ! Thank you for posting this.
I'm moved to tears...and plan to learn to sing and play this song on my guitar. Maybe someday I'll sing it in honor of a loved one gone home.
This song reminds me of the Hemphill song
Soldier won the battle -
I asked them once why they didn't sing it in public (it was on an album) ..they said it was too emotional for them ...since it was about a well loved family member.
I tear up everytime i hear this song. It reminds me of my papa. Im singing it at his funeral.
Lord please have a seat for me right next to my papa when we come to heaven to be with you. <3

This song reminds me about my grandfather Pastor Joseph Salcido who died this past Saturday. What a great Apostolic Heritage he has left behind.
