Trying to keep it short and simple: Stop complaining about how expensive this bike is, as Trek has already said 'It's not for everyone'. The bike was originally built for the team riders, and Trek have released them to the public for anyone to purchase if they have the money aside. There are plenty of other bikes out there which are affordable enough for the average joe'. This is just a top of the line race bike for the Trek team. Luckly enough to even be released to the public.
Man! All I can do is wish that I will have this bike someday, $8,999 is just impossible for me, I wish Trek will give away 1 of this only 1 and never ever again and I hope I will be the guy that receiving it! :) everytime I see this bike I got so sad that I cant have it, I wanna be like Aaron Gwin Someday, ready to do everything just to get sponsored by Trek and be the world DH racer!! I love you Trek!! You will always be my first choice if I have enough cash! :) Take care and keep it up!!! :)
Georgous machines. If I were to reference it to cars, it would be the Mercedes Benz of bikes. I am anxiously awaiting my 2012 trek 6000, as my first own bike in more than ten years. Cheers to the happy times awaiting in the trails of Southern California. :)
Perhaps the "holy grail" of mountain bikes. But with it costing over 9 grant including tax, how can you justify the downhill treatment to such a bike? Way too expensive for your average "Joe."
@nosurkantlo The Session 9.9 is not for everyone, but that’s why we gave our aluminum versions the exact same geometry as our high end race bike. The Session 8 goes for $4619 USD, and the Session 88 for $6199 USD. Yes, that’s still a lot of money, but downhill is an expensive sport to begin with — in our opinion, the price of entry is well worth the enjoyment and life experience.
The bike is way too expensive, who has 9 grand to drop on a bike? The only guys getting this bike will be the sponsored riders cause their getting them for free. Santa Cruz wants 6 grand for their carbon v10 frame and still being made in the USA. This Trek is way overpriced.
@camarosam The Session 9.9 is indeed an expensive bike, but it is priced within the range of the current market. We even offer a frame-only for $4200 USD, and the frame is manufactured in our facility here in Waterloo, WI.
@trekbikesusa Thanks for the reply and correcting me. I have total respect for it, and am very happy that you guys chose to build it here in the USA. You guys are nailing it with the session, past 2 years have been spot on and getting better. Since your session 9.9 is made here, maybe I'll hold off on the 2011 88 and save up for this. Sweet trail choice, I ride this exact trail twice a year and love how its totally hidden.
I am stoke w/ my Overseas Trek, wish I could afford an OCLV! When y'all do that 50% off sale for WI natives I will nab one for sure. Toting birth certificate in hand. Hey one can still do some wishful thinking right?
