Hi there, you really are an inspiration!!!!! You're so down to earth and hilarious, which makes the learning journey so much more enjoyable and worthwhile! Just wanted to thank you for the time and effort you put in! I feel my sense of rhythm, which is somewhat lacking, will improve greatly under your teaching!!!! Thanks again my good man!!!!
i love how he is holding the guitar and his gestures indicate he is about to play a song.... but it never comes haha. reminds me of my dad playing guitar...stopping midway through a song, telling a story, then playing again
You got to love youtube for learning guitar. Such an Amazing resource. Im using it as the foundation for a great new beginner guitar course. Would love to have your feedback on it!
I went to lessons for over a yearand still cant play 1 song I have a hard time strumming I am learning more on guitarsage in 1 week than I di the hole time I was takeing exspensive lessons, but I have alot of questions were do I go to get the answers I need. THANX Mousey
@rosekin hey i just read this and suddenly i am inspired man. i mean i am at home coz my mom is not well and dont have any good teacher here.. so its been 8 months since i have been with a tutor in real.. was doing a song for 4 days and i just am not able to get it right.. i was just about to give up guitar and then i read ur post... just curious to know do you like play really well now after 7 years or you still feel frustrated at times? and is it really worth while pursuing the guitar??
This would matter a lot more if that there weren't prodigies and savants walking around practically mastering instruments overnight. If you want to play devastatingly intricate music, yet you aren't looking to make it your sole purpose in life, then you will be struggling for a long time. There is nothing more frustrating to me than having a song, ripe with fascinating melodies and sounds, and not being able to play it because I haven't been playing for 10+ years.
Ive been playing guitar for over 35 years now and have had more than a few students myself, and this is very much the attitude ive been trying to teach them.
Maybe practicing on Your instument feels a lot like a task and hard work in the beginning, but the more dedicated You are and the more You get into it .... the more it becomes like meditation.
man..you're so positive and nice.... a lot of guitar teachers are very egoistic and have a I-Know-everything-and -you- dont-know-anything attitude and are very mean. youre doing the teaching giving the best advice minus the hype and bullshit...thats a lot....love you....
hey dude when i strum with a pick it kinda exposes the small fretting mistakes i make as apposed to when i just strum with my hand, any advice? i've heard acoustics are less forgiving than electrics because of the pick-up coils correcting these slight things, is this why?
Hello ^^ first off I have to say that your videos have really helped me!
I was wondering if you had any advice on tuning my guitar by ear? My friends tried to teach me but it just ended up confusing me :/ when I practice it sounds strange to me and annoys me because the chords do not sound right :/ any advice?
i can pick up strumming (no pick) but im rubish at puting my fingers in place for chords it cant help that im left handed but have a right handed guitar but i cant find nice let handed ones
I have a question. My guitar teacher said for a beginners is to keep a beat with your foot. but my problem is I cant get the guitar to beat with beat of my foot.... How do I fix that?
I have a question. My teacher said that you need to keep the beats going and he said to beat your foot to get the beat right with the guitar. but I cant do that i can get the beat but the guitar is no not that of the beat. how do i fix that?
thank you. i started playing guitar since about last september. and i dont really like my guitar teacher at school that much so i turned to youtube to help me. i really struggle with chords and strumming but then i looked at your videos and slowly but surely i am getting better. i just need a little patience thats all. thank you for the encouragement. i really want to be a musician someday.
I am really struggling and i dont get the chords i can't find how to be a better guitar player anywhere because no one really puts up electric guitar ones and maybe YOU could help me with that!
A really encouraging guy! Gives me the determination to make a "go" of guitar playing. Keep up the good work, alot of people are appreciating what you do. Bytheway the ebook is very good!
and i agree he gives you encouragment because if only got my guiter and cannot do nothing with it and says that you just need to pracitce so thank you man
Thanks for the encouragement just what I needed to hear today!! Sometimes we all need to take a step back and enjoy the journey and not worry about the final out come.
I know what you trying to say is stop being so hard on yourself and keep practicing. For me it might be take a while to pick it up but I know how to read music but sometimes I can't hear it that well. I can't really strum that well. You are ONE OF THE TRUEST BEST GUITAR TEACHER 100% !!!
your the best guitar teacher I ever had!!! I had time stretching my F major chord on the guitar i do have a guitar at home, but sometimes I had hard time tuning it with a guitar tuner. Do you know a best guitar tuner?
man i been trying for over 2 years n i still suck! ive been on this earth for 38 years and i will never stop trying until i die!but man it sucks not to be good yet. i am having trouble going from chord to chord fast enough to make a good synchronoous sound.I m not gonna give up, i will be damn good in time my friend.
Thanks friend. It's true. It's 1% talent and 99% practice. Although insecure guitarists will want you to think they are special. It's truly about practice.
Thank you for your advice it really helped me to understand that I shouldn't give up when something is going wrong or it's pretty hard for playing. The only thing that encourages me is my great love about music! You are great teacher keep doing it there are people who will appreciate it.
good advice. I know what you mean about the not feeling as impressed anymore. The first year of me learning guitar i learnt loads really fast, now its kinda slowed down but i spose i hsould just practice more
Great advice. The only benchmark that I can judge myself is this: "Am I better today than I was a week ago?" If the answer is, No, then the solution is "practice." If the answer is, Yes, then
the solution is "practice some more."
BTW: Just got your e-book. At the price you're asking it's the best deal of the year.

Nice guitar (I like the natural satin finish.) Been reading about Takamines lately. Is that the kind with the tube preamp and do you like it if it is? I like the look and feel better without a pickguard but is there some pick damage and does that matter?
I don't think it has a tube, but yes the sound is really nice. No pick guard and these guitars are notorious for having that pick wear. However, I think it looks cool. It's a great guitar. Thanks for the comments!
best guitar tutorials i've ever seen. my goal today is to be at least half as good as you by december.. alright, so i have a really interesting imagination..... but i'm going to improve thanks to your lessons :D
Great message, thanks. I've been at it now about 4-5 months (had the guitar sitting around for 20 years) just messing around on my own, stuff I can find and figure out online. You hit it on the head, not necessarily discouraged but ask myself if I have the talent to actually play this thing one day. I look forward to watching your other videos. Thanks again!
