  • Thank heavens President Chikwete has changed his mind about a Trans-Serengeti highway, & given in to the pressure. So Serengeti will be saved!! I grew up in Tanganyika/Tanzania, & still love it dearly. My youtube video, called 'Speak Swahili, Dammit!' has original 1950's & 60's footage.On the same youtube site, I've filmed recent things, like Kilimanjaro with no snow, filmed from 30,000 feet by me in October 2010.

  • We have to think about the wildlife there and the migration. Building this road here will hinder the natural process of wildlife. Do not build the road!

  • Excellent channel, thanks for sharing.

  • Good on you! People have to know!

  • SAVE  -> Serengeti

    STOP -> The Serengeti Highway

  • there is no way back from this selfishness that human beings have. This is ridiculous. I am very sorry. Nobody gives a fuck about nothing or nobody. sad....

  • transportation is the biggest hindrance in africa. developed countries once upon a time had to take drastic measure to reach where they are now. its time for developing countries to do the same..

  • @lenanamarealle yes, but there is an alternative route in the south. A highway there would even be better for the inhabitants because 2 million people live in this area. How many people live in Serengeti? How many of them depend on a highway? Probably 0. Humans have already destroyed far too much. Tourism is decisive for countries like Kenya, Tanzania and so on. If the environment there is destroyed, tourists will stay away.

  • @Geofratz I suppose, you don't live in Africa so why don't you donate to organizations which help the people there instead of supporting the corrupt government? Sounds hard I know, but it's true unfortunately. National Parks are the last sanctuaries for animals. They are the only areas where the development of a healthy ecosystem is possible and that's very valuable. Have you ever been on safari? If not, do it then you'll understand what I mean.

  • just like north america,once great herd of thousands of proghorns and bisons,with population over 100 milions specimens..now is there about 100 000 bisons and proghorns...or passenger pigeon,once most numerous bird on world,now extinct

  • you're kidding yourself pax if you think you can destroy an ecosystem and then live in it.

  • Transportation is more important for the development of Africa. Not the preservation of wildebeest.

  • @paxtonhume Sure, and tourism is not important for those countries, of course not.
