Very true, the key thing is to get out and try. It is pretty rewarding when you start one up with nothing but some natural materials.

I could'nt disagree more than that. Friction fire are very, very complexe and require a lot of knowledge.

@CedrikG well yes, with friction it does take alot of time, and a crap load of frustration, but he just said without matches, this could mean flint and steel, or with a fire steel, and these methods are actually quite easy
