  • paul hardcastle is a tutting king!!

king tut was riding the rocket on his way to orion. his golden chariot was too heavy for his pegasus, and tut wasn't that omnipotent, so macgyver gave him a rocket that perhaps could ride him all the way to orion before it...

  • electro!!!! stupid

  • Damn I love the dance! It doesn't get much better than this folks, this one video encapsulates the entire 80's for me!

  • I luv the synth on this

  • love the bit when he spins round and lands in space playing a synth guitar..... great tune . if u like this vid u will love snoop dogs sensual seduction vid..

  • People always talk about "technology" but more technology was used in this on video then what they do in ten years the 80s had some real genius and the smart people now are the ones from the 80s with real taste the music industry has a shit load of kids that cant make there own music but sing and have there own reality tv show lol

  • Great tune by Paul Hardcastle, but an even greater music video; very forward-thinking, imaginative and creative, unlike the crap Justin Bieber, Jessica Black and Lady Gaga can conjure up....hell, I feel bad that I even compared the likes of them to great artists like Hardcastle and Hiroshima.

  • @Jimbeanlover89 lawl

  • when we finally be able to reach other solar systems or other galaxies, this song will still be contemporary...

  • I'd love to be able to orbit the Earth in a jumpsuit with a Keytar playing some spaced out grooves! What a legend! Proper class this music!

  • This was my kraftwerk before I found out who kraftwerk was

  • This is fucking genius

  • Never heard this early peice from Hardcastle - nice!

  • A melô da Flauta Mágica, muito bom essa musica do Hardcastle

  • it looks so funny how he´s dancing, coool - absolutly good musicccc

  • sounds like an Egyptian Porno...

  • @Kstall1181 Surely that's not a bad thing?

  • @ItsGrahamUpNorth

    Kstall1181's from the New Generation.

  • Thats what you call a super producer when you dont need lyrics to your instrumental. I got my production skills from listening to his music

  • what version of king tut is this? i like it better than the version on his cd

  • @shamgate meybe its cuz the cd version doesn't have a guy dancing in space. disclaimer, i'm just kiddin around as in not being serious.

  • Comment removed

  • @shamgate I think it's the original version, I think it was redone for the album because he changed to another record label

  • You might find this hard to believe but I never knew the existence of Paul until about a year ago when I came across his music accidentally when looking for other music . I had not heard of him here in Australia . He is so talented and I find my self really hooked on his music.

  • Eletronic Music!

  • If paul had a tash he would look like john holmes.

  • LOL mc fucking LOL.

    hahahahah... YES!

  • i dont think he is really in space.i think its some sort of effect

  • the funkiest mofo on earth!!!!

  • O cara é um gênio? Ele é o rei do sintetizador!! Um dia quero ser pelo menos parecido com ele, pois igual a ele ninguem vai ser. Ele é unico.

  • Is there anything plasma globes cannot do?

  • This motherfucker is MACK!!

That keytar style definitely brings tha bitches..

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND the secret to a 4-way orgy with hot supermodels........dance with a keytar *goes to order one on eBay*

  • Hardcastle is a G

  • Wii should come out with "KeyTar Hero" !

  • now I know where they took inspiration for the video "Hey you whats that sound"

  • Makes me wonder...did we really go the moon or is this song have something to do with the pyraminds and mars link..being it called KING TUT!! think about it!

  • Great synth music aint dead, man, check out "The Malah" (This band has got it, Music and Love and Healing)

  • this is back when music was for adults who just wanted to chill in outer space

nowadays its just for horny teenagers who need to watch a garden hose spraying an oversized butt with water and some harmless suburban homo trying to look "deadly"

  • @Novantii

    There's some goddamn truth.

  • LOL

  • @Novantii Don't get all modern music mixed up with mainstream modern music; There are still plenty of good bands.

  • @Novantii Im 19 , I fuckin love this, I dont know what youre saying, but this still appeals to the new generation

  • @Markell1991

but not everyone in the new generation

  • @GDelva2003 Well yeah.

  • @Markell1991 everything is for kids now a days now lol.

even the damn TV with kids i seen a show with a kid jacking off lol

  • @Novantii i think you would like most the artists on warp records. They started out making "listening music"

  • Good news! P.H. Jazzmasters VI (6) is sched. for release July 2010. His son joins him, too. Yeah - can't wait!

  • do peopel like this exist any more?

  • paul is gettin down

  • This Song Is Soooooooo Freaken Cool

  • great videos

  • great music, boy do I miss his music!!!

  • i wish more bands these days had keytars hahahaha

  • Eh, can I get some wine with this cheese?

Seriously, PH probably got more play in 1984 than I've had since... 1984. Damn.

  • gay video, cool music

  • This is pure cheddar, I love it!

  • 1:31 is the funniest part.

  • King Tut and Rainforest are Paul's strongest early jams, classic and timeless tunes!!!

  • great video, great tune

  • I was gonna leave a "jokey"-mean comment, but I just can't. PH has made so much great music that i love, no way can I say anything bad. This video though... tongue in cheek baby!

  • @davandk

    You rock!

  • can anyone tell me what became of paul hardcastle such a talent

  • Still a talent, still making music, just deliberately not aiming for for the pop sector, more smooth jazz over the last 10 years or more.

  • Top notch production......Hardcastle is a legend.

    5 stars

  • did someone open up a can of cheese wiz? lmao!!!!

  • Yeah Burqo* - Agree P.H. is a stand-up, timeless talent. He has an appreciative fan-base here on YouTube. HC5's Ret of the Rainman also one of my faves (evolves nicely). My pers collection also incl his productions: The Jazzmasters I and II, and his "Cover to Cover" double-CD music compilation. Frequently played. Also wowed by another, up-and-coming, alt-synth producer/talent: Owl City - Ocean Eyes (2009) - beautiful, evolving album w/some great sounds and beats, IMO.

  • right on rascalbird* What surprises is how relatively unknown Paul is, especially in the states, I'm around a lot of different music cats, it's perplexing, I have yet to ask someone if they've heard of him and they say yes."

A vocalist I know met him in a music store once, this is one classy individual I would love to meet. Paul's new dvd has a couple of exceptional tracks I think, the main one being "return of the rainman"

  • You betcha -- he's still got it -- all the way up thru Hardcastle 5 (2008); and this vid shows his sense of humor, too! He's part of the j-funk, Mothership connection IMO.

  • For a white dude with a jerry curl he had soul like a mutha fucker to make funky ass music like this....or he just smoked some really good ass weed.

This was the shit to break off of back in junior high.

  • I wish I could have that super inspiring weed too!

  • NIIICE. I never did see the video to this track, now I have, and I am so happy :) Hey you guys remember when synth keybaord-guitars rule? That was awesome...

  • great vid

  • Cute video. Esp. funny when the second guy in the space suit is still jammin' away on the keyboard guitar while the flag is planted on the Moon. Luv U, P.H. for many, many years!

  • cool key tar

  • awsome.........egyptian love and hashim were also good too back in the day

  • Egyptian lover and hashim were great!

  • are they groups or songs, mr soundwave?

  • @sergelapelle.they r groups..check out Al naafiysh by Hashim and The Egyptian Lover - Egypt, Egypt you mite also like the synth pop album Ministry: With Sympathy

  • awesome!

  • one of the forgotten luminaries of dance music

  • this is heavy...and im from the bass generation

  • a true pioneer, it amazes me how low visibility he is considering his extraordinary talent, his new dvd video, 'journey to another state of mind" is awesome, highly recommended, "return of the rainman" is an outstanding track.

  • SPACE INVADER !!!

  • PAUL HARDCASTLE has been out for a LONNGG time he uses different sounds and his own unique imagination to CREATE THIS KIND OF MUSIC which in this case its seems to be like an mixture between jazz and funk!!!!!! Instrumental songs are considered music ITS ALOT BETTER THAN "DROPPIN' IT LIKE ITS HOT" MUSIC............... :D

  • I love this song!!!!!!!! he looks and dances like NAPOLEON DYNOMITE!!!!!!! haha its ok though his music is purely awesome XD

  • any guesses as to how much this video cost to make?

  • 6000

  • You should watch the video of "Addicted to Love" by Sonic Youth - they recorded the song in one of those booths where you can get a CD of you singing over a backing track and then went to a blue screen booth and mimed over video of the vietnam war - the whole thing cost something like $8

  • This is my favorite song from Paul Hardcastle. I personally think this song was too advance for it's time. 1988? Top off the there's something Magical about this song. I love it.

  • Try 1985.

  • Zero One?

  • Great song!

  • i guess cos the melody uses a certain scale (ie the specific notes he is using) thats borrowed from music traditionally associated with Egypt

  • what does this have to do with king tut?

  • im not sure

  • The musical scales were invented by the ancient egyptian.

  • i never would of figured that

  • I love finding gems like these!

  • Good !

  • now its these vids that should be on mtv

  • ZClipze your intelligence is undeniable and I couldn't agrre with you more

  • Comment removed

  • Still one of my favourites he's every done, because it comes along with the feel of the 80s/my life at that time. Warm summer evening and the freedom of riding my bike wherever I wanted.

I swear there are like 4 or 5 different versions of this and I have them all, I think? Except this one of course

  • Hahaha, this guy is definitely "going in".

I miss low-budget music videos like this one here.

  • why would you call it a low budget?

  • Because it's using really primitive video effects and footage from other things, like space shuttle launches. The rest is just basic green screen technology and basic effects like zoom in/out and rotation.

  • well, it WAS the 80's

  • it looks like its one of those public access dance shows

  • It's not that music today is pitifull or something. There are still artists that make this kind of music, and its good, however YOU CANNOT HEAR IT IN THE FUCKIN RADIo AND FUCKIN TV,BECAUSE OF THE HIP HOP AND OTHER SHIT!!!!!!

  • It's not because of hip hop, which is a conscious music and has substance, it's because of rap(no substance, materialistic boasting),marketing and generic styles of kiddy music. Basically everything on radio now is heavily marketed and targeted at certain chosen audiences, instead of freely expressive art which draws audiences, it's become big business over the years and radio and media are working with these big record companies, promoting all the crap.

  • There is still a lot of good independent talent out there, but the greedy record companies want to push their products(image) and can impose it being in a position able of domination, which more or less leaves originality and diversity we used to have out of the picture

  • you hit the nail on the head mate !

  • it´s amazing, I remember this melody... it´s unvbelievable. So cool and rythmique!!! I want the 80´s back... try also Moon trekin´ from Paul H.

  • Haha yes! I only like this song and Moon Trekin'!

  • woah, what about 19?

  • Hmm I just listened to 19 now for the first time and I don't like it. It's too blatantly political and I don't like the beat. Maybe it'll grow on me, but King Tut is still #1 with its Orientalist beat and Moon Trekin' a distant second! Hee hee.

  • he doesn't like the political stuff on it. I for one, like it, cause of de catchy beat. same with this song. de catchy beat is one with this song.

  • wow cool song.i love it.

  • I never knew Paul rocked the key-tar. This whole album is a KILLER

    RAIN FOREST

    KING TUT

    AM

    SOUND CHASER

    PANIC

    LOITERING WITH INTENT

    FOREST FIRE

more synth bass groves then you can handle SON.

  • right on

  • @MrPisster hey works electronic's but more on a funk basis. what amazes me is the art of this time is so ahead of now.

  • its amazing what you'll find face to face

  • If you like this, check out P. Hardcastle's album he made with a group called Zero One... he did a lot of brilliant Electro Jams back in the day, before he switched to the boring (in my opinion) smooth jazz sound

  • You're so right man !! But you know what ? That good old Paul is back, he gets back to his roots with new singles ! Check those titles : OVER AND OVER, HARD AS HELL.

  • @ TheRealLeybra - Thanks for the info... I had no idea and I'm really curious now... can't wait to check out those songs

  • This is just great! What the hell happened to the music today?!

  • yeha i hear ya.what happened to it? music nowadays is pitiful...

  • @konkordski it died :(

  • @konkordski It died. Socialism means death in every facet. Welcome to 1984.

  • @konkordski

1.- If you were young those days certainly your older, and your music taste just changed.

2.- Good music is always made. It's there just do a little search. Media has narrowed it's support for "bubble gum" music. No more taste?: Drop it we have more for you. And after the teen years you realize it was the same bit, melody but different blonde behind the microphone.

  • I like these old vids with primitive but fun EFX and music that's musical.

    No rappers yelling at me!

  • With a capital "C", the rap I mean.

  • woow cancars

  • His stuff was very samey. But when he got things right, they sounded good.

  • Outer space never sounded so good.

  • OMG i forgot about this song it was great. I had this track on his cassette album which i used to play all the time in my Ford Capri back in the 80's . Great great video thanks for posting this. GOOD TIMES

  • I thought it was a Casio!!! I still have mine from 1986, but I don't play it because my husband had to repair it once already. Can't replace it, that's for sure!

  • You won't get these sounds out of a casio lol this was done on the best hardware synths of the time

  • this white boy has put nothing but original raw funk soul out. i feel like doing some air flares, moon walking to mars with kool kieth

  • Why oh why does Paul not bring back his Casio wizardry? Now is the time for that retro Casio sound and God only knows HE CAN DO IT! BRING IT BACK, MAN! BRING IT ALL BACK

  • Not casio lol but jupiters, moogs, dx7s thats what he made the nice sounds with. Synths with monster sounds that i prefer to todays simplified blips and bleeps and boring sounds we hear

  • this is a great after effect

  • fucking badass!!!!!!!!!!

  • Blue screen FTW

  • i still move like him, when i go dancing LOL

  • :) LOL... @ b00too

  • Haha this makes me wanna breakdance!

  • this music is incredible.

Their is nothing out today that can even touch this!

  • Thank you, thank you so much Paul.Your music make me happy.

  • Sensacional!

  • Décollage

  • Ages since I've heard this...

  • Why can't they make music videos like this these days?

  • cause ppl like putting bull shit on there videos like those lame fake rap gangsters that everyone loves so much! they dont know music you think they would know how to make a music video?

  • why do people always seem 2 mention rap musik?? nothing wrong wiv it theirs somthin wrong wiv the industry...jazz hip hop all came from the same place good musik has no genre

  • i like rap i just hate lame ass rappers like T.I. and other ones that i cant remember cause i dont listen to todays rap. Today's rap is bull shit they talk about being hard then they act soft thats really retarded you dig? Am just 20 and i dont go to listen on the radio i listen wats real let paul take u to the world called "REAL" music i like music that ppl put there hard work and soul in it! Not some lame Song that talk about bulll shit and doin a Retarded dance lol

  • well kool, we agree on somthings..but i love hip hop old and new i dnt like t.i lil wayne bcoz i wouldn't class that as hip hop but there is alot of artist still making good hip hop musik...its just the corperate people at the top sponcer that garbage bcoz they kno they can sell cars clothes food drink colone etc threw these air heads ...but good cultured hip hop still exist..i kno about paul hardcastle also..thats how i found this channel..his wonderland is more my type of shit.....peace.......
