  • Considered doing this with an old sturmey archer 3 speed hub - scarey!! way too complicated!

  • Cool video!

  • Thanks, great help!

  • Dooope :D

  • i think my BMX headset is threadless and im hoping to get a integrated headset and stem for my bike can i take off the threadless headset and put a integrated one?

    Frame: FBM Outsider 2004

    Forks: S&M XLT 3/8 dropout

Current Headset: FSA The pig (unsealed)

  • bmx assembly would be good

  • the cap bolt must to be put BEFORE the stem bolts so that the fork can be properly installed.

  • you should do a animation for scooters it would be helpful

  • hi, could you do an animation for a bmx assembly

  • you forgot something ......

  • Hey i need help, I am trying to install my headset to my bike, but i have questions.

What parts do you install from bottom to the top (stem area)?

And I have two cups that look like they have to be on the bottom and top of my frame and fork access, but theres already some on my bike, can i take it off and put the new ones in as tight as the old ones, and without tools? Help please!

  • Not only should you tighten the pinch bolts after the headset compression cap, but you shouldn't have the top of the steer tube flush with the top of the stem, which it appears to be here.

  • that is cool i love quite helpful good job!

  • one thing, you shouldnt be tightening the steerer clamp before tightening the top of the headset to the starnut really

  • @slcoldstone

Spot on, if you followed the video you would end up with play at the the forks

  • nice SolidWork anime. it helps. Thanks

  • I only wish the animation labeled each part, as I'm going to be switching out forks soon and have no experience with this, unlike danthemanzizzle who was born with this knowledge.

  • Wrong sequence.....pinch bolts are tightened last......in case someone follows your illustration.

  • @georgeleakos

i believe you are right, but do you know why they are? i can't think of why.

  • just to point out you should realy do top cap bolt b4 side bolts on stem

    but never mind :D

  • thanks, this is really helpful! i wish you could do one for internal gear hubs

  • You're welcome

If I could find an internal hub and figure out how to take it apart, I'd be happy to do one.

  • Cheers that video really helped ;)
