  • As a latin percussionist with a drummer brother, we grew up in the 70s mind you, Stewart Copeland is perhaps the finest in the world. Of course among greats like Bozio, Wakerman, and some others. Classified "Punk" just because of pop 80s appeal commercially is wrong too. Punk after all was not meant to be commercial either. Yadda yaadda yadda, the doo doo doo etc…. Just killer musianship and lyrical bliss. I'm an 80's kid! what can I say?

  • Curre curre guagliò there is the envy chops of my list ce stà a o burdell' a POLICE o votta votta ò curdone a fà o burdell' co' e braciole mie...aggia a chiamà o TRIBUANLE DE BARI ndo sta mio cuggin che è POLICE ISPECTOR

  • trudi on camera

  • 2:56 oh shit i gotta sing! hAHA

  • Is it me or does the live version sound way better than the original?

  • @Psycomantis1 I completely disagree. Just my opinion:)

  • @Psycomantis1 It's just you

  • stewart copeland and andy summers are featured in this because this song is about the past of Sting when he used to be an english teacher, yes i know very british.

  • @RoM1il What are you talking about Stewart and Andy being featured in this ? Theyr in the band.

  • andy summers is the shit...that riff gives me chills...

  • lets have the summers cam dont wana c this pratt

  • The start sounds like Money for nothing :PPP

  • @wazup4251 exactly, in Dire Strait's Money for nothing, you can hear Sting singing "I want my mtv" with these notes :)

  • Sting demanded that all the cameras set on him. This is just before he quit the band!

  • u never know what might happen ;)

  • Cameraman obviously has a crush on Sting.

  • @BlackLelie its a feature on the dvd.you can have the whole band or only watch one of the members you choose

  • i love the song but this was kind of a camera fail :P...video loses its effect if u dont see the other guys with him

  • Sounds like he's playing the intro to Money For Nothing in the beginning. Hey could have been singing "I want my MTV" (and he actually did sing backup vocals for that song).

  • tightly trimmed mullet

  • rock band 3 is coming

  • glee's version is way better

  • @ivysnyder67 No. Glee have ruined every single song they covered.

  • @ivysnyder67 i agree

  • @ivysnyder67

GLEE'S VERSION IS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL ARTIST'

    S LIVE VERSION??? U R LOCO

  • @ivysnyder67 lol you failed pretty bad with that comment.anyone can cover a song half decentley.tell glee to right ther own shit that will be remembered 20-30 years down the line

  • @ivysnyder67 you must be 13 to think that

  • @ivysnyder67 you must be 13 to think that

  • @ivysnyder67 ru retarted ive seen the verison i like it but its NEVER better than the original!

  • @ivysnyder67 you must be a very young teenage girl to think that!

  • @ivysnyder67 FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!

  • at their best..the recent tour sucked..compared to this...

  • it's an extra from the concert DVD. you can choose who to keep the camera on.

  • where can i get a jacket like that? srsly

  • @BrianMcGooch

Get creative... Make one yourself :P

  • this song helped taint my youth... powerful it was....

  • they should make oingo boingo get back together and tour

  • cuz Sting is the man

  • nice jacket bro

  • he's awesome live =] sounds just like the record

  • Sting's outfit is ridiculous.

  • @muymalmoon Looks like he skinned a pinata and wore it's tasseled hide as a coat

  • mullet + that shirt = awesome

  • sting is fucking amazing at singing

  • Impressive perfomance!!!

I would have liked to be there...

    Thanks Police!!!!

  • stewart copeland is a BEAST!

  • Wasnt Sting a teacher? He may be talking about personal experience.

  • yes, exactly

  • correction that is!

  • Correct, the original is from 1981, the 1986 version was a remix.

  • Correction, the original is from 1980 not 81'. And I love the original better than the 1986 remix.

  • I think the original in 86' is better, but this is still half decent.

  • looks as if the gay guy from the road warrior stole one of david lee roths jackets..used it when he battled mel gibson ..then gave it to sting to wear for this concert

  • Does he have rubber bands in his mouth?

  • @athpics50 possibly. they stop singers from spraining their jaws when singing. no word of a lie

  • This song was based on some real affaire/scandal between students and young teacher in Britain, and not related to the "Lolita" of Nabokov, I think...

  • well if that is true why he sing this:

He starts to shake and cough

Just like the old man in

    Famous book by Nabakov

i think he based on the book (no offense)

  • before sting was a musician, he was a teacher, maybe its based on something he experienced with one of his students?

  • i love that book by nabokov!

  • This version is better than the 86' -.-

  • Amazing performance. Blown away..wish I was there.

  • Actually, I thought the quality of the Glee mashup was better than the originals. No criticism of the Police or Gary Puckett, just an observation of what can be accomplished when a TV show used professional musicians.

  • @bob2mb3 totally agree i love the way glee threaded this song with young gurl it was beautiful lol but dnt get me wrong i love the police version too both r amazing

  • Classic song, saw this on Glee a couple months ago not as good as the origonal

  • man that's really good

  • nice to hear a moog taurus bass synth on the intro

  • August 1983.... 15 years old.... I was there in Philly, JFK Stadium in the afternoon... 100 degrees- opening acts- REM, Madness, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts..... The GREATEST band of all-timess!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this

  • Why is Sting the only one shown in the video? What about the other guys?

  • This is from a multiple angle DVD. This is the Sting camera. You can also get the Andy Summers camera, and i think one for Stewart copeland, plus one for the whole band. Some of the other angles are on youtube i've noticed :)

  • @mojorisen74 because Sting is the man

  • @mojorisen74 Because that camera was only for Sting. If you are looking The Police synchronicity Tour videos in youtube, you will find videos like "Andy Summers Cam"

    Greetings from Perú!

  • @mojorisen74 Because in the Synchronicity Tour DVD video footage, there are four to choose from.

This shot is one of them.

  • @mojorisen74 because by this point sting's ego had overgrown and he WAS the police

  • @mojorisen74 Sting is just too cool

  • @mojorisen74

cause the other two blokes are ugly

  • @mojorisen74 He's the leader, and takes all the credit, plus he wote the song.

Same thing happens in Dire Straits with Mark Knopfler...

  • The best, of Gillete Sense Again. xDDD

  • 2:29 "You never know what might happen!" LOOOL how cool!

  • Comment removed

  • that had to be awesome to be there!!

  • alucinante ese show

  • I can honestly say that my favorite bands are only 2 and will be only that 2, Fall Out Boy N The Police, cuz their music is different from other people and lyrics are so meaniful

  • money for nothing at begining?

  • Funny thing about that is that they (with permission) used the vocal melody for the chorus of this song in Money For Nothing.

    Interesting.

  • money for nothing: 1985 (or ´87)

don´t stand so close to me: 1980

  • someone that showed me such affection and i lovehim too. But i treated him like a child in public, and last time patted him on the head, said he was too young. yet he was only twenty years younger. In reality I am 48. I must be a masochist, behaving like this. How dumb can one get. Moi, the coward.

  • he almost look like Mcgyver xD

  • oh, that's true. ;p

  • I like the version where the lead singer blends into the chorus a little more... =P

  • on which dvd is it to see? please answer me!

  • Hello, I'm pratically certain that it's on "Syncronicity concert" DVD

  • I was there. Philly, JFK Stadium, August, 1983.... 100+ degrees on the field!!!!!

  • why it only appears sting. The Police are three people...

  • @danihdz92 Because Sting has an ego the size of Texas. Good musician tho.

  • @ThaTzone not as big as Bono's ego though.

  • @danihdz92 I think that they're only using the footage from one of the cameras. There appears to be another camera filming Andy Summers.

  • @danihdz92 The reason is, that on the DVD this is a multi-angle track. To see the other parts, you need to switch angles. It's not edited with multiple camera shots like the other songs. Roxanne, Invisible Sun, and Synchronicity II are also like this.

  • dont leave that this video being removed x.x

  • lol the guy who uploaded this song didnt bother changing the angles, in the live dvd you can change it to like 4 angles

  • The Police are still awesome.

  • whoa spector instead of the fender

  • Atlanta??

  • yeah the omni

  • i fucking love this song

  • I hate the way Sting is singing it here though. I think this was from the Synchronicity tour in around 1983. The way they're performing it here sounds too much like the lame 1986 version. The original (1980, 1981?) is a LOT better.
