  • Venus fail trap.

  • hahahhaa

  • warmer temperatures make faster traps.

  • Can these be planted outside?

  • yes they can

  • In response to the people, believe this is you want to, I don't really care

Hamburger meat or ANY kind of meat eaten by humans will often kill the plant due to its extraordinarily high fat count.

Slow traps are only a sign of a stressed or malnourished plant, or one coming out of dormancy. Slow traps are often a result of poor watering, too many "just to see it close" experiments, or something else.

    I hope this helps.

  • this is not a baby trap its an old mature one as you can see with the small traps underneath.your wondering a year? no it proberly will be over 2 years old.these are full grown traps.if you want bigger ones buy a south west giant or bigmouth.

  • image being its size and running through that jungle

  • a donde se fue la mosquita ?

  • the fly is like ahhaha mother BEEEP

  • the fly owned the plant.

  • i´ts the coulours!!

  • Does anyone know what attract bugs and flies to this trap? Does it have a sense or sweet smell or something? I'd like to know what makes this plant so special for flies, wasps and slugs to attract to it.

  • someone told me that it has a smell only insects can smell. so if you see a 'non-insect' entering it, then it's just being stupid because 'non-insects' cant smell it.

  • I've seen several different kinds of venus fly traps with different names like 'Akai Ryu' Deep Red, Dionaea muscipula, "Dutch", Red Dragon, "Vig". Do they all do the same thing? Grow and eat bugs?

  • yes. but the red coloured traps are more attractive to the bugs, and they grow the same.

  • pobrecita!!! que tenga suerte la proxima vez!!!!

  • She kept on starving :D

  • lol uciekla ^^

  • you plant is a few slowly jeje

  • your VFT is slow...neet to work on speed

  • That fly trap got owned.

  • dumb ass

  • im sorry to say i think your flytraps are gonna die soon.

  • LOL . I don't know why did you say that... Some years passed, and they did not died! In winter they slow down.. And sometimes, when they "eat" a lot of insects, they get slower. When they aren't capturing much insects they get faster.. My plants have been great! And I always let the flower develop! In fact, last year, after the plant flowered it was when the traps were bigger! :O That means they are really well! =D

  • hes right the fly traps are slower when the're nurished and are faster when the're hungry.

  • you keep them in a pot outside? How hot does it get out there? And you should try to put it where sunlight exposes to it the most, is that right?

  • Yes, I keep them in a pot outside all year. Here at Portugal, in the region where I live the temperature reaches about 41ºC (105F) in the hottest Summer days and go down to about 0ºC (32F) in the coldest winter nights). They must receive a lot of light. Go to the website "Sarracenia Northwest".On the right side of the page click on the link "best plants for you" and "care sheets". This site has the best caresheets I've ever seen! I learned a lot from them!
