  • i turned on the US open today on NBC, and they were giving highlights from earlier in the round, and the background music being used was this song. if golf is using httyd music for highlights, you know john powell did something right

  • I never knew it was possible for a movie soundtrack to bring one to tears. Normally, a movie has one piece that does that, but the HTTYD soundtrack had me captivated the entire time. How the flippetty flip did this not win Best Original Score?!

  • @wendila idk, because THE SOCIAL NETWORK KINDA DIDN'T DESERVE IT AT ALL -AHEM I'M TALKING TO YOU, ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES-

  • @freestylebbb i know! i was so fudging pissed off! i still don't understand how the SN even HAD a score!!!

  • Best. Drumline. Ever. If a highschoo/college could drumline that it would be nothing short of amazing.

  • i know! the drumline at the end is the best way to finish this song :)

  • just gotta watch this over and over and over and over...

    several hours later...

    and over and over again!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I very like it!!

  • Judging by the ending of this film, I'd say they were setting it up for a sequel. Which, honestly, is great news. Not the fact that there's going to be a sequel - I can live without. But the fact that they had it planned. Sequels pretty much always turn out better when they're planned. That usually means they've got the same writers on board, and the storyboard's been thought up ahead of time, so there's no laziness shining through in the sequel.

  • @GoldenFlither15 theres actually 8 books so hopefully a sequel and another and another and another and another and another, and another. plus if they write more books =)

  • @RoxiGirl102 That's great. :) I don't know how on-board I'm going to be with all of them, but again, if it's planned, then it has a stronger chance.

  • I love the beat in the last moments of this song.

  • @waffleninja21 Oh! Of course! Him too :)

  • Love the bagpipes on 1:55 - 2:00

  • favorited, liked, bookmarked, saved, loved, subscribed, shared, ...

  • epic beginning, epic middle, epic ending... just epic in general

  • @hollywoodshopaholic i'm not just talking about this track, btw, but the whole movie in general!

  • I've loved John Powell for his works in Bolt, but this totally beats it. He's definitely one of my top favorite composers besides James Newton Howard and Joe Hisaishi

  • @RoscoCinemas wut about hans zimmer? D:

  • 0 people didn't have a....oh wait, nvrmnd...

  • love the celtic influences, my favorite :D

  • John Wiliams has some competician for the greatest composer in my mind! I mean, John Williams has done WAY more, but this soundtrack is pretty damn awesome

  • No dislikes.

The way it should be. ;)

  • Les Comparto el motivo número 23 de por qué How to train your dragon es mi favorita para el premio Oscar 2011 a mejor música original. El título de esta obra: Coming Back Around (2:51)

  • For some reason it always pushes tears in my eyes listening to that. Maybe it's the uncontrollably big wishthiswhole movie to be the real world

  • I love this movie so much, and the music, it's wonderful, it's perfect!

  • this is berk.

it snows nine months out of the year and hails the other three.

what little food that grows here is tough and tasteless.

the people that grow here, even more so.

the only upsides are the pets.

while other places have parrots or ponies...

    we have...dragons...(:

i absolutely LOVELOVELOVE the music in this movie:D

John Powell...you are a freaking genius(:

  • Totally love this soundtrack, specially the main theme is absolutely stunning and everytime I listen to it it gives me kind of an optimism-flash ... don't know how to call it, but it makes me think that I'm able to do everything I want <3

  • @IthildinTheWolf what is the main theme call?

  • Is it always gonna be like this? Cause...

I can get used to it. :D

  • i love wen it comes to 1:09

  • Astrid kissing Hiccup. That will be all.

  • 2:02, probably, very, the best thing i ever heard. so...viking and...dragons.

  • i wonder why no one in my class loves this movie?

oh well, they are so wrong to not watch this movie, its funny and its also touching.

I mean come on who wouldn't wanna watch the movie? losers? am i right?

  • @BloomFan1329 Of course you are! And you're not the only one with tasteless friends :)

as i watched the movie, i didn't know what to do, i wanted to be a part of it! And my best friend just said: "Nah, i don't like it."

    Why? ._.

  • @ThRuStYy WHAT!!!!! how can anybody not like this movie!!!!!!

  • There is going to be a sequel and it comes out in 2013!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR IT!!!!! I just love this movie!!!!!

  • ahh, just close your eyes and imagine your own scenario to this music. what a spark of imagination

  • amazing movie and soundtrack

  • omg 2:00

  • @gynous13 I definitely agree!

  • the theme for this movie is amazing! I just get a thrill everytime i hear it :)

  • "I knew it I'm dead" XD laughed so hard "No but you gave it your best shot" XDXD Laughed harder *Astrid kissed him*DARN IT!!!!!!!! >:(

  • Love the whole soundtrack. The drum line always amazes me. ;)

  • I like how hard they had to try to make this tune EVEN MORE EPIC than it was in "Test Drive". XD

It worked, of course, but it's still funny.

  • Holy cow, I love this music and movie!

  • man i keep thinking HTTYD will get an Oscar award for the best music

  • @redchaosdragon1 It certainly would deserve it.

  • @redchaosdragon1 It should.

  • this soundtrack is amazing *__*

  • 0:39 - Hiccup gets kissed... I think :P

  • (from previous) Now the songs become happy once again and the shadow of sadness is gone and is replaced by happyness. The music suddenly turns to the best of the joyus music at 1:15. And ends better than before with promising.

I love the way John Powell put his music together. Reminds me of John Williams.

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The others got ponys or birds, but have....DRAGONS

    :D

  • Now both are disabled...Hiccup with his foot, Toothless with his tail...

No one can leave without the other...Happy ending for me^^

  • @Rimfaxe96 Yes, it was definitely a touching ending.

  • Love that drumline at the end!!

  • Sounds like Romantic Flight, no?

  • @chickenpoodle009 it does, but a little faster and "up beat". maybe just faster is it. ^^ oh well still good anyways.

  • @chickenpoodle009 Actually, Mr. Powell took many of the joyful songs and blended them so that as one ended at a point the next would begin almost flawlessly. It fit the movies ending perfectlly: Romance, joy, celebration.
